I think they should add a new mechanic to this game where you simply press a button to get a spell shield for 0.5 seconds and if anyone hits you with a spell the spell is nullified and they get stunned for 2.5 seconds and take 20% increased damage from all sources for the duration of the stun. This shield should have a 6 second cooldown and every character should have this shield innately and if you parry a spell the cooldown is reset.Also there should be an 800 cost item that reduces the cooldown of the shield by 2 seconds, gives you 15% spirit resistance, 70 health, reflects the damage of nullified spells, heals you for the damage of the nullified spell, and gives you a 25% damage increase for 5 seconds if you nullify a spell.Note that these are all significantly weaker numbers than what parries and rebuttal have against melee, which already is the inherently weakest kind of attack as you need to be in melee range of the enemy who can just dodge roll away or not allow you to get close enough, or fight back with their own melee attacks.
