>>563624860idk if it matches based on stats per se. i have not noticed that. i think they just give you more rank points based on whether you are performing better/worse vs the average player on that hero (same metric as ace status), and then multiplying your rank change based on that. so naturally that means that one-tricks get boosted beyond where they should be, versatility players get shafted a little bit, and tank players suffer the most because your ace as a tank is most dependent on how well your team is doing (so you may as well switch off of tank in a losing game and try to pad your stats). not to mention that the whole idea of "ace" is flawed to begin with, because stats don't win games, winning games wins games, and there's no real way to measure that by someone's actions without extremely involving machine learning or some shit like thati suspect they are falling in all the same pitfalls as most other competitive game devs where they hear complaints about the matchmaking, so they try to overengineer the metrics and matching principles to to the point that the players' chances of winning individual matches deviate more and more from the players' ranks. if anything, they should be removing as many of the other matching principles so that rank points are divvied up correctly and players reach their true ranks as quickly as possible. that's what actually creates balanced matches in the long run, not fudging the rank gains for players because "buh buh my kd"the only thing they SHOULD have done to improve matchmaking (imo) was introducing behavior score like dota, and basically using that as the other rating to match players with. basically, if you throw or grief so much that no one likes playing with you, then you get to play with others like you.
