If Shadow is immune to any disease that means he has to be immune to any inflamation, any chemical imbalance, any hostile microorganism. "Disease" is not a biological class but any long term disorder or dysfunction of the body. If Shadow is immune to lung disease and metal fume fever just because of his DNA then you could assume he's also immune to the metal virus. The metal virus means he truly isn't immune to all disease because there are already diseases in real life made up entirely of artificial substances.
