If I were a gamedev grifter I would use koikatsu to generate me the 2D renders, and then try to export those models into blender and then export to godot using some animation library like mixamo.

Then I would just make a popular anime porn crossover, like sailor moon * one piece * DBZ * naruto * evangelion and then make something like a porn version of vampire survivors roguelite with super ppppu fatalities, using a mobile touch single hand input.

And then use music from those shows.

I saw this in Jargon and wanted to add it, basic game stats for a player to build up over time.

It's been a few days after release, and I've made ~200$ and gotten 4 positive reviews. This is about what was expecting, and what the data predicted. I do feel a good sense of satisfaction watching the playtime stats tick up, or achievements get completed. I'm not sure how many more patches I'll push, probably just any big fixes or balance if people really complain.

I'm not sure if I'll do another game or not, I have a few ideas I've been kicking around, but will probably need to lock in for IRL stuff coming up. I'll probably just take a couple months off.

The thought of looking at that old code was actually physically painful. But really, that project made me realize how important a story is to FE games. When they are just faceless mongs it loses the appeal fast. It also makes all the levels feel very samey, without story gimmicks.

Now that I think about it, I think the problem came from how I unwrapped this shit.
Automatic doesn't work, using seams was still really inconsistent, and so on.
I'm a total and utter beginner when it comes to texturing, with zero skills in using the Texture Paint tool, and I think that a good start would just be "Unwrapping it in a more consistent way.

Also try to mirror some parts of the UV mesh to save on some space. Here for example only half of the pants are texture so the other side is mirrored, same for shoes and sleeves. Your face should use more space since it has the most detail too.

I gave vibecoding a serious shot for the first time this weekend, and I was really impressed. We managed to create 5 reasonable prototypes between the 3 of us, and we polished one of them for release. They were all programmer art in html/JS, but still felt quite nice to play. I also tried out Godot MCP, but it produced significantly buggier results.

Interesting note to anyone who's interested in try this for themselves: the workflow we discovered that worked the best for collaboration is to just write out prompts in a google doc and let the one dude who's paying for Claude Max to submit a large batch of prompts at once as an update.md file.

I can give some insight since my game is focused on combat.
Balancing is the last thing you do, because you have to make sure your code works and dosen't throw spaghetti in chaotic situations.
More than numbers, your balance should be set on the feeling you wanna give while fighting. If you kill an enemy in ten hits, or 2 that feel changes.
Also the balance changes depending on your enemies: imagine a slider where one side is dynasty warriors musou, on the other a dark soul boss. More complex enemies of course need more life, otherwise they can't show all their skills and shit; dw fodder soldiers can be killed by the dozen with one hit. Again it's a matter of what feeling you wanna have, and what kind of fantasy you wanna invoke when playing your chara
