We're pretty much at end of service/gameded waiting room times because one more DLC 66L character and the new mechanic won't magically bring in more players or make this a main game at any tournament, so it's fun to just reflect on the journey so far. I'd say even if we had our fun with this game for what it is, we can agree that it's dogshit and it's not "competitive" in the slightest and it was all just in good mashy fun. It's a full on clown show monkey braindead pissing contest, like most modern fighting games now. The game does look good, arcsys doesn't fumble in that regard and the cast is very charming once you get into the game and especially if you already know a bit about granblue. It's just the actual fighting part of the game is raw putrid shit, and yet somehow still not the worst among them. Strive and Sf6 are still the kings of liquid green cartoon shit, tekken gets an honorable mention due to harada's endless hostility towards his own customers, something old japanese game devs always fall into, and then their bunch of dogshit patches that plunged them deeper into darkness but I think strive and sf6 still have them beat because those games pretend really really really hard that they're fully serious. I don't get that feel from tekken much. And ultimately it's a problem with this game too. It desperately pretended to be "anime street fighter" but it's actually just slop with terrible mechanics to further enhance the overall feel of fucking shit stirring violently in your asshole. The over-simplification of the game doesn't help the variety either, everyone plays the same so there's no excitement or much of an incentive to use different characters when everyone does the same loops over and over despite the cast being varied in terms of looks and move animations. Your choice boils down to "retarded monkey nigger" or "slightly less retarded monkey nigger so you will lose more probably lol". Overall, 6.5/10, it was fun for a bit but it got stale fast.
