Doing the reflectrial for this boss fight really makes it seem like phase 1 was specifically designed for turn stalling similar to the RR2 abnos. That combined with starting with 0 SP makes the start of the fight miserable until your RNG aligns and you can start dealing damage to the boss. I had multiple runs getting fucked over because the fastest two units would be the only ones with their skill 2s or 3s while everyone else was stuck with only skill 1s which kneecaps your damage for that turn. Phase 2 fixes a lot of these issues and my biggest complaint is just that there shouldn't be modifiers that favor the shilled status of the event. the more i think about canto 9's writing the more i realize that canto 8's only crime was being at times boring and having a stupidly bloated cast, it handled hong's character very well and made him both sympathetic yet visibly flawed, whereas i can't think of a single morally incorrect thing ryoshu did that wasn't out of her control or otherwise something she is inculpable for. comparing ryoshu and araya's relationship to hong and xichun or daiyu's relationship for example is actually night and day, you feel sorry for hong because of the shit he experienced yet you can also perfectly understand why xichun and daiyu feel the way they do with him and give him shit; they love him but his lack of explanation hurts deeply since they too were affected by that traumatic event, so there remains a firm barrier that holds their relationship back a significant amount that simply can't be worked around until hong himself comes through which is heavily frustrating for them. yet with ryoshu and araya there are so many holes to begin with that their relationship from the start feels hollow, contrived and unrealistically perfect, yet you're supposed to look the other way because "waow isn't araya so freaking adorable!!! moe momshu!" and later down the line when their conflict occurs the resolution feels cheap as it hardly had any weight attached or as if an obstacle were overcome since ryoshu and araya were simply not at faulti wish ryoshu were written more like an authentic abuse victim who fucked up every now and then with araya (whether it be not protecting her adequately or getting overwhelmed and having a minor episode since parenting can be tough), it would make arayas resentment feel a lot more grounded and could serve as a catalyst for ryoshu to become a better guardian so she could properly parent araya once she comes back and atone for her mistakes (which i imagine would claw at 'shus heart since she knows how abuse feels like firsthand)any other limbabs feel this way?

I have a good sinking team but this is as good as I can do for bleed currently and even on normal people are losing clashes from turn one and getting staggered by turn 3.I dunno if it's worth grinding a bunch of lux for exp tickets just to level a handful of IDs for this event alone, when the reward is basically more exp tickets on normal and a handful of lunashi for hard.
I could understand having difficulties if you're not using the current bleed and sinking meta or something, but there's no freaking excuse if you are. She plays pretty much exactly like her story version, but on top that, you get buffs on bleed + sinking. I got it just fine on my end way below the necessary turns for all rewards, which is all I care about, and I still lost a few clashes purely due to RNG.
