The chicken intervallo was an event some time ago, the only difference being that you got a special currency for playing it that you could exchange for rewards. That's about it. Also the railways could be called events I guess. They're slowly adding them as permanent content with a revamp (higher difficulty, small changes to make enemies hit harder, etc). The only one we got so far is the 1st railway, but we'll get the 2nd one soonish. Also, be sure to hit the 'theater' button and go into 'side stories', if you see anything there you haven't experienced yet hit it, it has small cutscenes and a couple of walpurgis stuff that could also count as events
