But more importantly than raw amount of pixels, Index optics suck compared to anything modern, this is where you'll find most of the visual benefits. It won't be CV1 to Index kind of difference because CV1 could barely show you font on big UI elements of Elite Dangerous, but it will still be a substantial upgrade to go from Index to anything new. We're far from the point where you could claim it's diminishing returns. But at the same time, I wouldn't be too obsessed over it, Index is still doing an okay job, and then you should also factor in that increased resolution means increased hardware requirements. It's good to upgrade and you'll surely appreciate increased resolution and clarity, but it's not CV1 tier where you'd receive entirely new possibilities just thanks for how clear everything becomes in front of your eyes.
