>no one is born a UC citizen>being in the Vanguard, even if you are a god tier recruit, will award citizenship in several years, not instantly>you have to be a citizen to buy a house even in The Well...where do they put the kids? some affluent family living in a tower in the residential district pops out a kid and you're telling me he's gotta fuckin' scram? even assuming that kid does get a grace period growing up, is there a point where they'd be forced to evict them from the goddamn city? do citizens get to keep non-citizen guests in their homes, and if so, is there a limit? todd, explain yourself
>>564711714>ok admiral sanon, we decimated the entire Freestar navy over Akila space, the war is now almost over and the Board has no choice but to surrend- >oh no, the civilians heard their navy was wiped out, and now they all boarded their puny cargo ships to attack us.>WHAT?! are you INSANE?! I’m not firing at civies. Nuh uh! Sure, they’re actively trying to kill us and we’re 99.99% done with the war, but I refuse because muh novel hero morality!>yeah, that’s right, retreat! also, we lost the war. also, you’re a war criminal for thinking of self defense in a war! It’s genuinely the stupidest thing about Starfield’s lore
Did Bethesda realize they were making a dystopia or was everything so bland it slipped past them?
>>564712321if youre refering to the UC history lesson that's propaganda most likely there was a mutiny after some captains got tired of shooting through human shields, the high command pulled the plug on the war and tried the biggest war criminals in exchange for FC command sealing their lips and UC ceding claims over FC territories the UC has no qualms targeting their own citizens over some space pox like during the londonium incident which the high command blamed entirely on their rogue commander's actions, said commander who is also being held under captivity indefinitely
>>564670849QRD?
>>564713217It's centrally located in the Narion system and there's a pretty well known location on the planet's surface where you can land and reliably find an area where an outpost will have access to aluminum, iron, beryllium, and H3 (ie all the basic ores for building materials and fuel for cargo links).
>>564713453Oh fuck ok
>>564665213>>564713217exactly here. find a spot with rocky desert, mountains, hills, all next to each other, arranged like[R][M][X][H]but the R and H might be swapped, i don't remember. x is whatever, land on the M, and you will see a black hill nearby. run at it and there's a spot with iron, nickel, aluminium, cobalt. you can place an outpost just in range of 3 alu, 3 iron, 3 cobalt, and 3 nickel with a bit of mucking around. maybe more, but i stopped at 3 of each.this video explains the spot:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKTjyx-1ES4&t=1m32s
What we need is a space encounter where a tentacle monster rapes my whole crew
>>564711956i guess everyone rents. anyway, service guarantees citizenship!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh8qd0VKPAE
>>564714163>>564713453Ok so assuming I wanted to send other supplies/materials to my end point house in Archimedes V-a, I'd have to make a relay to gather them all and then ship em from there (so I only have a single landing pad + the supply ship pad) right? Or would you just ship Aluminum, Iron and Helium 3 and buy the rest and call it a day (red line)?
>>564717558I just do the red line because I'm lazy and can't be fucked with doing all that, but if you go all in on outposts you can create a vytinium fuel rod manufacturing empire that supposedly nets a fuckton of credits and experience once it's up and running.
>>564717558depends if you want to just build something once, or have the outpost continuously make it. i haul once for building, but set up the cargo links for an outpost that continuously makes something. like the o2 shot outpost is mostly on jemisen, but iirc has a link sending something in that isn't on the planet that can be automated. depends on what you want to make - if you can get it all done within one system, then intra system cargo links can do it all without helium, but helium is needed for sending it to another star system. inara dot cz has a good material search database to work out where you need to put everything.
>Trying to dock on a ship>My auto turrets kill it before the prompt to dock finishesThat's what I get for being a meta faggot
Here’s my latest HopeTech cargo ship creation, still thinking of a good color scheme and name. I colored it after the Black Baccara rose variety.
>>564721781And here is the interior layout, it’s literally just one single long-ass ladder straight from the ground floor to the cockpit at the top.
Looking at the CK, there exists new space encounters for shattered Space such as encountering a derelict ship with vortex phantoms on it, or running into Varuun refugees fleeing Dazra, and telling them where they can go.Anyone ever run into these events?
>>564721781absolute unit. admiring the sheer size of her
>>564722394I've honestly been fucking around so much not doing the MQ, not doing SS, not even finishing TA and having so much fun, it's almost like I'm playing Skyrim and just walking everywhere again but I'll keep an eye out now that you mention it. Basically half my galaxy is filled with Incursions at this point so I might just do TA to get rid of them and then move on to SS.
>>564722996>>564722394So, thinking on it, I'm not the best at reading the CK, but the reason why I haven't seen the Vortex event may be because you have to help Aanasko release the vortex phantoms at the end, where I usually kill them.
>>564723832That would make a lot of sense, and yeah I always just shut it down because there's absolutely no gain in releasing space horrors even if you were a giant asshole.
>>564710736Will DLC 3 final put Starfield on the map?
>>564726018Not really because first impressions is everything. Starfield is doing well enough for a sequel to at least be on the table, but it's not enough of a groundbreaking game to stand out among other AAA juggernauts.
>>564726657>Starfield is doing well enough for a sequel to at least be on the tableEh, Microsoft didn't buy Bethesda so they could waste time on "well enough" IP.I'm guessing it's the Fallout and Elder Scrolls mines forever for BGS
>>564726018starfield was the #1 selling game in NA a few weeks back with the PS5 launch. i think it is doing ok
>>564726018Only mods can do that and Bethesda did their best to cripple the modding community
>>564727489Microsoft is a multi trillion dollar company, they can afford a few stinkers here and there. That being said, Starfield came out on top of the other stinkers and supposedly managed to earn a few hundred million in revenue based on some estimates, and continues to earn money through the Creation Club revenue and Game Pass subscriptions. It may not be very popular, but it's still potentially profitable for them to justify continued support.
>>564726657Yeah sequel in 2043The game is built for mods and DLCs and Todd has regret about abandoning Skyrim and Fallout 4 so soon back in the 2010s>>564728589As much as beth would love for creations to take off like the perfect storm of skyrim and nexus mods it just won't happen when people have to pay for shit
anyone know of a good modding guide? Im specifically looking for a step by step of how to get a .nif into blender, and then back into the game, with all the import/export settings. My experiments so far make the reimported model in the game look all messed up.
Looks like you can find some modules via piracy acts too
>>564731158Not really, but check out 510deshawn, he's got some videos on how to make some basic mods and model swaps but they're not step by step. You're going to need the CK, this guy https://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/165 and the Starfield nif addon (Starfield Geometry Bridge) to go back and forth
>>564731948I'm almost certain they're level dependant, I hadn't seen a single one until level ~50 and now I find one every now and then
>starborn maverick spacesuit>invisible boostpack mod>OP katana>slow time modoh yeah, it's starfielding time
>>564736295>slow time mode>not just taking hundreds of vials of aurora
>>564736409kek my character is a total addict with the addiction trait even, but i need the effect consistently and on demand - i accidentally added too many gameplay and combat overhauls so robots and turrets kill me in like three seconds flat and take a shitload of explosive ordinance to down. the slow time button is my emergency "oh shit" maneuvre when i see my health bar disappear in one shot
>>564737139What addiction trait? You mean there’s special dialogue with characters if you have an addiction?
>go to survey a moon in alpha centauri>help sysdef fight crimson fleet>sysdef hails me after the battle>don't normally see the crimson fleet this far out

>>564740095Playshitters are enjoying those legacy platform issues that Bethesda games have had forever on top of the mediocre nothing soup that is Starfield.
>>564741683Gopher is also a moron who couldn't figure out how to use cruise mode, and even his own youtube viewers were calling him out.
>>564741683Meanwhile MrMatty does like it when he hated Shattered Space and Gopher thought that was alright

Reinstalling to try the new stuff. Is x-tech a way to boost the armor you like the look of higher in stats or is there another way?
>>564731158modding this game is a fucking pain in the ass, I'm making some progress, but the file format shit Beth went with for this game, fucking Unreal Engine is easier to mod at this point.
>>564745736X-Tech lets you upgrade armor and weapon levels and reroll/add Legendary traits on both. Also to upgrade your ships. You're going to need truckloads for the latter, though.
>>564742823Not him but I did check his latest video and his opinion was that it was ok, not great, but ok.
Are the big terran ships at incursions supposed to be non-hostile? They never take part in the fights as I kill their smaller fighters and then I board them without issue. And some of them have their gravity off as if I hit their drive
>"Great minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, and small minds discuss people"It is now necessary to append, "smooth minds discuss sloptuber's opinions."
I haven’t gotten a single incursion ever since I finished the Terran Armada questline, despite letting incursions continue and increasing their frequency in the settings. Please don’t tell me it’s a bug.
>>564747678Either an outdated mod issue or you aren't waiting long enough. Try flying to Venus and wait about 6 hours on it
>>564747678same thing happened to me, had to jump through the unity to fix itby any chance is your galactic map completely covered in incursion markers despite none being there?did you perhaps rest on a 1:300 hour ratio planet?
That upcoming adoption mod should give a trait so you have a kid from the start.
The things I do to get my bounties done.
The terran crew officer outfit is the best drip in the game. Their weapons are all lame though.
>>564749017>ng+>your adoptive child notices that after you blipped out of existence on the way to jemison your eyes are suddenly cold and dead, and for some reason you won't meet their gazeaw yeah, more multiversal suffering kino
I have to say the Vanguard questline is pretty good so far, the intrigue is nice, and letting the player decide when Hadrian finds out about her daddy (with the best spot to do so being built with appropriate drama) this is leagues better than anything in FO4.
I just realized something. Bethesda may have to redesign power armor to be less stiff and bulky like in Fallout 4 in order for land vehicles to be operable while wearing it, unless they implement pickup trucks in Fallout 5 that automatically gets unequipped and placed in the back. This will likely reflect back in Starfield if we ever do get power armor.
>>564747971>>564748839Yeah, nevermind, I got one the very moment I finished one of the special tracker’s alliance bounties that I had active, and a major incursion at that.
>>564737615i am using the "more traits" mod that adds it. dont think there is special dialogue, just makes chems more effective while making addiction easier/harder to kick
>>564750839Aaand it doesn’t fucking matter, because Gideon completely disappeared from the game at some point while I was completing the bounty and I had to go back to a hard save BEFORE I even started the Vulture’s quest. Why can’t Todd fucking fix this stupid bug
>>564750778Yeah I don't think we have to be concerned about that
What did the Syndicate mean by this?
We got a hag and we got a goth. What other popular themed waifus do we need?
>>564746135I found enough x-tech in the first mission to upgrade my anti-xeno armor up to the max rank but it took all my credits and it still isn't as good as some of the new stuff I found. Better than nothing though.
So why can't we get player housing that looks like this instead of fabricating square pieces of shit with the Outpost system?>>564757184>What other popular themed waifus do we need?Tomboy, Villanous type (Catwoman), religious type, dorky, hyper slut but kind, muscle girl/warrior/soldier type, yandere/obsessed, Stifler's mom, robot

>>564712382no bullies here
You did the honorable thing, right anon?
Does the terran armada questline change at all in ng+?
>>564726018No
>>564762845There is a subtle difference. The robots are slightly less homosexual.
Do the x-tech outposts actually get attacked or can I just slap 4 cheap mk1 turrets down to complete the quest?
>>564762007I don't even know what this is
my game has started freezing whenever i enter the star eagle. nowhere else, no other ship, i just cant enter the star eagle without it freezing at the load screen
I've finally cleared my questlog down to these. I'm guessing I'll finish Terran Armada first and then do Shattered Space. Also, was the Vulture's Roost always a thing or is it new? I don't remember ever coming to this place but holy fuck was it fun killing a gorillion high level Ecliptic goons.
>>564769874Try this:1. Fast travel to Venus2. Build a quick outpost3. Rest in it for 24 or 42 hours4. Make a full save before entering (not an autosave, quicksave, or exit save)5. Close your game, launch it, load your full save, and see if you can enter the ship now
Here’s an overview of my HopeTech ship and its abnormally big cargo capacity. 100 mobility, btw.
>>564774240Would’ve been nice for a smuggling ship, had I sided with the Crimson Fleet.
>>564758339Why are there lawn chairs with open beer bottles and empty chunk wrappers on the ground on said airless planets as well? The answer, dear anon, is always the same: Todd.
Not only is it hard to take this seriously with the typo, each of my drives has at least 20 gigs. Why did this start popping up?
>>564775653Also, outposts with barracks that don’t have airlocks in planets with unbreathable atmospheres. Or hell, settlements on planets that check almost every criteria for sustaining human life, except that the magnetosphere is weak and everything’s bathed in solar radiation. It might be fine for native fauna and flora that adapted to such a thing, sure, but not humans.Anyway, check pic-related. This moon has a temperature of 79 degree celsius because it orbits a hot gas giant that’s almost as close as Venus to the sun, is listed as “barren”, but actually is covered in snow and ice and the game recognizes the entire landscape as “frozen plains”.
>>564776605I know this can show up if you're cloud syncing on steam and you're running out of cloud space.
>>564775653Another photo. Some planets were clearly not revised well, or have been moved around and the devs forgot to change some things to make sense of the new placements. We could even get anal and ask why the flora of habitable planets with blue stars, like Akila, don’t have brown-purple foliage to properly absorb the sunlight.
>>564776950Good call I think that may be right. I have no idea how to clear steam cloud data though so I'll just disable it for now.
>If I hover over Elevated Cabin my game CTDsWell ok, I guess I'm not making that one anymore

Is it just 6 powers you have access to before the main plot goes 0 > 100?
>>564774130ty friend, i will screenshot this for future use. if i'm being honest, this is a good excuse to re-tool the load order anyway as I had a few outdated plugins that i think were causing the problem (and a few others). luckily i was only 10 hours in and i use fewer than 200 mods for starfield, so it isnt a huge ordeal like when my 900 mod load order for skyrim decided to shit itself and die after 150+ hours of stable fun
>>564776609it doesnt address all the problems, but i use the "POI goldilocks" mod that restricts human POIs on planets/moons with an atmosphere + a temperature range of -50 to +50

paid creations are so scuffed it's not like there's any guarantee from TODD to make them future proof
>>564811994Bethesda couldn't even bother to update their own creations (gravis suit and the doom one) to be compatible with free lanes. Shit's bleak.

I want to make sure I'm not overlooking a mod: Everbright is literally the ONLY MOD in the entirety of the Starfield modding scene that introduces a companion you can start a relationship, right? I find this baffling. How the fuck is no one tapping into the "Make a mod that adds a bunch of waifus for you to waif for 1500 credits." market? That has to exist. People bitch so bad (rightfully) about the vanilla options being so half-assed. I am not talking personality, or looks. You can make Sarah and Andreja look like whatever you want, that's not figuring into my head. I am talking the actual relationship building element being so awful when it doesn't need to be.

None of them are there during your first meeting of constellation in other universes, you have to go get them during quests. >>564847994Ten is just enough. However, I’m miffed about the Starborn Guardian taking up space, and the fact you can’t even place doors and ladders exactly where you want without mods to this is annoying. Also, my Frontier is bugged because of the comspike bug making it take a ludicrously slow time to lock on targets, and also makes shields not factor in any shield perk whatsoever. >>564851983Please, 80 meters is plenty big. My big-ass cargo ship doesn’t even fit the New Atlantis landing area, the landing bay is literally hovering over nothing and my character spawns right next to the ship technician.
>>564852203The game itself is fine, what I hate about it are the outside factors that made the modding never take off
>>564852506Chemical castration
>>564852509>people have different preferencesWoah!
>>564851983>I try to make a little cruiser and end up with a chodeSounds like a you problem bro. Maybe find an easier ship building game.
>>564852506They have to ride my pony
>>564847994>I don't know why Bethesda thought it was a good idea to limit the amount of ships you could own to only 10. Same reason settlement sizes are limited in Fallout 4, 76, and Starfield, and why the number of settlements you can build is limited.Every time you "save" a ship as your own, the game has to keep track of every single module used to build it. 10 ships = 10 ships worth of modules it has to keep track of, and that takes up more and more ram.
>>564839137There are Terran military clothing outfits
>>564852953You’re like a toddler crying that his cone can’t handle 12 scoops of ice creamBethesda can rework in the M-class ships like the UC Vigilance, but with how small planet-side landing pads and zones are, they might be forced to stay in orbit while players land with smaller ships.
>>564851785Star wars in its own excluding the new Disney stuff is ok and I don't mind mods that add star war inspired stuff but just ripping stuff from one universe and placing it in another is gay.
>>564852506They should never be allowed to play it again.
>>564854239You're getting defensive over literally nothing. Doubling down isn't making it any better.
>>564852506They should be forced to play Starfield
>>564853742That's kind of a drop in a bucket compared to all the other persistent references this game keeps track of that leads to things like save bloat that can impact performance, not to mention the game gradually becomes more unstable anyway with each additional content update because of how low the reference handle cap is, contributing to stability issues along with the mods you might be using. That being said, 20 or 30 should be a decent limit to account for all the unique ships you might collect.

Did I miss anything cool in the admiral's quarters on the unifier? The gravity was off and everything was flying. I got the antique guns on the wall but I'm wondering if I missed an upgrade buttplug or an action figure
>>564857126I spent 10 minutes looking couldn't see anything else
>>564847994I only ever use one ship
>>564857126Wait, what? Admiral’s quarters? Antique guns? What do you mean??? Did I miss a unique gun and I’m fucked?
>>564858495Yep, you missed all of it and it's fucking OVER for you know.
>>564858683Yeah, fuck you, turns out Kilian Brice in Ancherpoint sells the antique weapons and the new laser snippy rifle.
I find it odd people saying shattered space is "small". I just got done replaying the entire DLC, did every quest, cleared every location, etc. etc. and it took around 21 hours. More than Dawnguard, less than Far Harbor.
>>564859486>did every quest, cleared every location, etc. etc.because they sped through the main quest and that was it
Are the buggy's thrusters, weapons, etc. effected by any of your character skills?

How do I stop instinctively attacking and boarding civilian ships so I can steal and sell them? It’s become a very bad habit that I can’t shake off.
How the hell do I get off this booze cruiser? Do I need to activate the laser turrets and let them kill everyone because it's incredibly tempting
>>564866789Can't you just go to the airlock?
>>5648667891. Is EXE - Effect Textures Enhanced the go to for FX or is there a better, actually updated mod for that somewhere? I know there's a CC one but I'm not going to pay for it.
>>564873585You are aware that's how the game saves everything right? That's why Bethesda games need so many load screens. Every item you move from its default position, every settlement/outpost item you place down, every ship part you slap onto your ships, gets saved into the memory so the game can remember where it is.This is why Oblivion/Fallout 3/NV ran so poorly on the PS3. While the xbox and PS3 had similar amounts of RAM, Xbox used a shared RAM system where the system/graphics could pull from the entire RAM pool as needed, whereas the Playstation had a dedicated/split RAM design where the total RAM was split evenly between system, and graphcial, memory. This meant that the Playstation had far less system RAM to use, and meant that you moving items and blasting shit all over the place in Oblivion/Fallout 3/NV maxed out the available memory much faster compared to the Xbox versions.
>>564872242>SF1EditYou mean the Creation Kit 2? Either way, even though the CK2 is a huge resource hog, both it and xEdit should run for you since I'm able to use both with 32GB of DDR4 RAM. You might need to close some applications to free up your ram.

This shit’s overkill. Even then, it can’t one-shot the over tanks boss enemies in Terran Incursions, so I went back to my tried and true instigating bleeding skip shot Va’ruun Inflictor.
>>564877496The Terran Armada enemies are cracked. Even after cheating myself to level 300+ at game start on my third playthrough I rarely saw enemies go above level 100 in either the base game or Shattered Space. In Terran Armada I see 200+ often. And these guys can take hits.
>>564878250It’s not that they take hits, their combat traits are broken (as in OP broken), like instantly healing whatever damage because THREE legendary enemies with the medic trait (constantly healing allies, including oneself) are in the same room fighting me. I had to settle on freezing them and use solar flare with Starborn powers while constantly shooting them in the head, or else they will recover all their health.

If I'm going to go for the 10 time ng+ nonsense should I even bother hanging out in universes prior since the EXP gain is just so much better?
>>564885261Nope but you're going to suffer for a while in NG+10 if you're low level with no gear, just a heads up.
>>564885261I think it depends on what you wanna do, but imo there are three ways to do this as of Free Lanes: you can fuck around in your first universe forever, you can go through the unity once so you can upgrade your powers using quantum essence or whatever, or you can blast through 10 times. If you commit to doing the 10 times thing, there's no point staying around mainly because you're just gonna be scrapping your progress constantly. If your only concern is EXP, you can probably just stay in your first universe and build a vytinium fuel rod empire. The rate you gain experience isn't really that important because you can generate it ~passively.
>>564884063mods?
>>564885689>>564886078I've played the game off and on since launch but never actually done the NG stuff. On a character that is level 35 now and just debating if I want to run through the rest of the main quests to level up and then gun it otherwise. I haven't even done SS/Trackers lolIf I was smart I would have just went back to one my >70s characters
>>564887343>and then gun itdon't do this
>>564872743You'll be able to run it maxed and it'll run great at 1440p at least. I'm on an identical system but with a 4070
Fuck off Terrans
>>564885261I like to do all the main questlines once in the og universe then blast through to ng+10
>>564885261Well man, that depends entirely on what (You) want to roleplay as. I personally find it a difficult decision to make my character leave behind everything they know with the knowledge that they did. If you want to play having a different life in a new universe, then limit yourself to doing one of the factions or keeping certain limits, like if you play a Bounty Hunter then you're permitted a lot more things than say, a religious soldier man. If you just want to jump to NG+ to metagame, then just download a lvl1 save in NG+ (plenty of those around) and play that.It might sound retarded due to how they're designed, but I feel like setting certain limits in Bethesda games is what actually makes them fun.
>>564887343>I haven't even done SS/Trackers lolHmm, Will you even get the Starborn options for SS if you haven't completed Shattered Space before Unity hopping?
>>564887770terrans go home!
>>564892734no
>>564892795So if a 2 year-old NG+10 player wants the Terran Armada starborn options, they'd have to complete it and then go through the Unity yet again And same thing when Starborn comes out. What a headache I'll just stay in my beginning universe, I think.
>>564894718>when Starborn comes out.
so the tracker's alliance missions were fun and the terran armada stuff was just okay. but alliance was shoved into the creation store while terran armada got to be advertised as a dlc. how do they make the distinction?
>>564895227Terran Armada is a much wider scope system, offering much more content. Trackers Alliance is 7 one and done missions.
>>564895227They wanted to milk the living shit out of the first Creations they made, Tracker's Alliance they just shoved the tip into everyone by giving you the first two hunts free and you were supposed to pay for every extra mission. They realized that was fucking retarded and probably not many people fell for that trap. They needed the goodwill so they made Terran Armada a big DLC update (it's not a straight up expansion like Shattered Space was or the supposed Starborn one will be) which might be what we get from now on (reminds me of Automatron more than Far Harbor for example) in a regular fashion AND all but gave away Tracker's Alliance.
At this point the only two things I expect Bethesda to put out DLC wise are a LIST/outpost/colony DLC, and a Starborn DLC.
>>564897438somehow I feel like the outpost system will never be expanded
>>564897664I'll tell you why it won't, because it needs a hard rework not just an expansion, It's too contrived for no gain as it is right now, but reworking it means they might fuck people's already existing saves and that's always been a big no-no for Bethesda. They NEVER introduce something that might impact users, even if it's a fix for a major bug.
>>564898525>because it needs a hard reworkNot really.
>>564898525>they might fuck people's already existing savesbut they've already done that multiple times

I mean, the game still has that usual Bethesda theme park feeling, but you realize how downright reasonable the rest of the world is when you walk into fucking reddit HQ.The fact that no one else ever mentions them makes them stand out even more, but I guess it's also a blessing for playthroughs that avoid them. I think the game would've been a lot better received if they made almost anything else as a main quest.

So I went back to my trusty Grendel, even though it sucks, but it's the only Bullpup weapon in the game and I love that design. What's the best gun to put on my follower though? so at least they do some damage.
I think we need to dox any haters who come into this thread. The game is fantastic and really shouldn't be treated as anything less by children from /v/ who are probably pedos from /pregmata/ who are bitter this game doesn't have fuckable kids.

>>564908391This isn't Hogwarts Legacy, anon.
>>564907945getting a bunch of inexplicable powers that none of the world around you comments on is a good way to get rid of immersion. the constellation quests are also terrible, and characters besides vasco and space nigger are ass.best to skip them especially if you have prejudices toward the game.
>>564908472You can, but you will not be able to remarry the characters you've divorced until you start a new universe. Can still date them though
How many of you uhh... pretend roleplay what the NPCs are saying?Between missoins, if there isn't any connective tissue, I'll approach Sarah or Andreja and pretend they gave me the mission. And I'll also pretend they have more to say about the morality of the mission, and pretend my relationship is going up or down depending on what I think they would react. It gets a bit mad when its creations missions like Watchtower, but its pretty fun. I've fallen out with Sarah at the moment and shes ready to divorce but I hope I can earn her back doing Shattered Space. Anyone else?
>>564909082I might just ignore her for this playthrough, already parked her at the lodge. I wish this game had a similar romance system to skyrim, I want to marry the Slayton receptionist instead, she a qt.
>>564909504At least you can marry all four of the Constellation companions simultaneously, provided you go for Andreja first

>>564909839don't matter, but make a hard save before the mantis one, that quest is buggy as fuck.

>>564883007The Sanctum version of him is one that doesn't go through the Unity. But I think he's still awful for making his gay universal nothing-religion.
>>564909082Since it told me that Andreja also became a starborn from my home universe I am playing onward with 100% certainty that Todd Howard wouldn't have that there without having a "Your waifu from the first universe is now also a starborn and you run into each other again in a completely unrelated universe" encounter. I just have to keep playing until I see it, is all
>>564910226>The VultureAbout that, I'm having an issue where picking up his bounty from the board does nothing, while all the others seem to work just fine. Anyone got a quest id for me so I can brute force it into starting via console commands?

>>564885261Honestly the benefits of hitting NG+10 are so minimal and unnecessary for completing any content, that I wouldn't recommend anyone do the grind unless they specifically just care for the meta austism reason of 100%ing the game's collectibles in a single save file. The top starborn suits only outperform base tier suits. Once you can upgrade a full Superior suit and kit it out with crafting upgrades, it way, way outperforms the starborn suits. And now that you can upgrade gear tiers with x-tech, it's simple to do that even in NG once you have enough credits. And the starborn ships kinda look neat, I guess, but I vastly prefer building a custom ship (and they also perform way better in the long run). You can also max out your powers without going through the unity more than once, so that's also not really a reason to do it any more. The latest changes have really made me enjoy Starfield a lot more for those reasons, knowing that I don't *need* to go through the unity to do that stuff.

>game has a multiverse mechanic where you can avoid consequences by just passing through the unity>has the most essential NPCs of any Bethesda game when the story could been written in a way to make having essential NPCs not necessaryThey really wasted a golden opportunity.
>>564926683Essential npcs were never necessary. Morrowind did it right.NG+ doesn't change much though. You still wouldn't want to restart a whole playthrough because quest #6 of a faction questline got bricked. You might as well say you don't need essential npcs because you can restart the game.Ideally, the unity mechanic would be changed to let you temporarily visit an alternate universe and then return. Then they could let you go ham in the alt universe without worries.
>>564927854>Ideally, the unity mechanic would be changed to let you temporarily visit an alternate universe and then return. It is a shame only like 2 quests did this, last main quest where you can kill Vlad if you want and that one where you need to pick up an artifact from a research facility that has you switching back and forth through two different universes as a quest mechanic.

No air, 300 fahrenheit below, no space suit. A botanist on a planet with no plant life and no possibility of plant life. He tells me one of his coworkers was dragged to a nearby cave by the local wildlife, but there is no local wildlife. I see this sort of thing all the time, MAST geologists working outside Akila City, some research claiming they're investigating whether this planet can sustain human life and there's no air and it's five hundred degrees outside. Why do the hunter and the emissary actually physically die and not vanish during the final battle? What is the true nature of the starborn? The answer is simple! No one thought about any of this shit and there is no answer for any of it.

>>564958232consider "Goldilocks", it's Desolation but more autistic - human POIs only appear on planets roughly in the habitable zone, with proper water/atmo/temperature conditions

>>564966035When a person becomes a Starborn, it means they became one with the Unity, and now they spawn in every single reality that exists. In other words, a specific Starborn will exist individually in all universes no matter what. Think of it as a single beam of light refracting into multiple rays. When you kill a Starborn, you kill this universe’s entity, but they nonetheless will still exist in every other universe. It’s why killing the Hunter doesn’t kill Keeper Aquilus, or vice versa, and why the Hunter doesn’t stop existing in every universe beyond, and why you’ll on rare occasions encounter Starborn versions of yourself. If a Starborn wins the artifact battle royale and enters the Unity, they will reflect all they’ve learned and experienced to all their future versions yet to be reborn by the stars. The way you, as a player, interact with the game is exactly the same way a Starborn would. We don’t personally see, feel, or witness our other Starborn selves lose and get killed, they “return to dust”, meaning they’re back to being the building blocks of the universe. >>564966697Yes they do, retard. In fact, the way you travel to the Unity (with the Hunter, or Emissary, or by yourself) will reflect how the artifact hunting will go, and Constellation will always (unless if they are dead) publish their findings on the Unity and begin a second age of space exploration. If you side with the Hunter, people will be bloody and ruthless about it. If you side with the Emissary, tough luck to non-Starborn, the Unity pool’s closed to them because it’s now Starborn-only. If you go against them both, it’s actually the best option, because there’s literally no one stopping new explorers from learning about the Unity and the artifacts because you effectively killed all major Starborn resistances, and they’ll study it with genuine wonder and curiosity rather than power seeking.
>>564966740it's far from perfect, but it is in no way the trainwreck that the internet would have you believe it is. therefore i defend it online vociferously
>>564933014Nigtrovert over here making starfield even worse than it already is.
>>564967382… but why? That makes no sense. Desolate planets are very valid for mining and research facilities.

>>564968037>Yes they dothen why do the starborn attack you and say "The artifacts are MINE"like, they could just wait, they've literally got an eternityI mean hell, if multiple people can go through on one jump then why don't the starborn all just gather up on the guy who has the most and hitch a ride in exchange for aid getting the restit makes no fucking sense
>>564967931i've said it since launch that UC + FC leaders both lied about the battle of chayenne. but we'll probably never know what actually happened unless they make a DLC for UC/FC which i doubt.
>>564966035My theory is that when you go through the Unity, your consciousness or soul merges with it and serves as a core part that remains behind, while your essence gets fragmented and moves on to be reborn in multiple universes. When a Starborn dies, they explode into stardust and their essence travels back to the Unity to merge with the core part with all of it's memories intact, which is probably how The Hunter and The Emissary remembers getting killed in other universes. You are also likely not the prime version of yourself that was the first to go through the Unity, and the guy or girl who stands in there to greet you probably is.
>>564968390You're right it makes no sense and either wasn't thought out or the writers couldn't agree on one/didn't want to decide. I think they could have got around it by putting more emphasis on being the first one to go through the unity in each universe for whatever reason, maybe an extra power boost or a belief that getting through all the universes faster will help them meet god/ayys faster, but whatever.
>>564968390You can’t use your little peanut brain because you don’t have enough neurons to understand anything. What do you think the Emissary is trying to do? Why do you think the Starborn always attack in groups? Why do you think some of them camp and guard artifacts, or temples? The Emissary wants complacent Starborn to form a line for a chance at the Artifacts, the Starborn who align more with the Hunter don’t want to wait and will do whatever’s necessary to get the artifacts.
>>564968852It's cute that you think there's something to be understood. I look forward to you trying to cope with the starborn dlc answering literally fucking nothing.

>>564969215No, you blip out of existence on the frontier and vasco finishes the flight home. You're thinking of dusty always being the hunter's victim in virtually every other universe, and that's well after the initial meet and greet.

>>564968152because the goldilocks planets are the planets that would be colonized first
>>564970474Because they're both Starborn.
>>564971064What about the emissary and the hunter's victim?
>>564968152>>564971061it is worth mentioning that Goldilocks still has mines/mining outposts/fuel extraction POIs on airless, desolate worlds
This is Starfield's version of the giants swatting you into space.
>>564968152Starfield's humanity went through a massive population squeeze 200 years ago and has ~all of space at their disposal. Desolate planets are valid for mining, but... if you had any alternative, why would you? Ever? They're *valid*, yeah, but mainly in the sense that, like, the Imperium in 40k setting up a manufactorum on Desolate Shitrock Prime makes sense. They've got the manpower, the resources, and habitable worlds are all already teeming with humans. The human population of Starfield could probably comfortably inhabit a single planet together, but for the dreaded menace: ideology.
>>564971061Not all planets with earth-like conditions are habitable. Some have too many dangerous fauna, or the atmosphere is poisonous or corrosive, or the water requires strict reverse osmosis filtration since it’s harmful to humans, or the planet’s soil itself is simply not fertile enough to sustain a colony.
>>564971343That said there probably should be a handful of military research facilities where they dealt with spicy shit they didn't want getting out of the lab on desolate planets. A *couple* of mines on desolate rocks throughout the settled systems, because maybe the veins there were particularly concentrated. Sure. Some military outposts/listening posts too. But the vast majority of human activity in Starfield should be concentrated on habitable world. It's insane that every planet you land on has a billion abandoned shipyards and cryogenic facilities and mines and research towers. You can be willing to overlook this. Higher density of POIs across the game is more fun in a lot of ways. Fine. But then the engine shits the bed and has random idiots walking around without space suits on worlds with no atmosphere where it's so called it snows nitrogen.
>>564971262The Emissary is a constant anomaly who can be any of the four Constellation members and doesn't bother to rejoin Constellation like you do, therefore the universe doesn't need to remove their non-Starborn counterparts. That being said however, there are other universal anomalies where you and your non-Starborn self can coexist in the same universe, along with the possibility of meeting the other Starborn versions of you. There may also be a possibility that the Hunter just kills the other version of you on Vectera much earlier than he would have like he kills Petrov if you prevent the death of the Constellation companions, or another Starborn version of you probably pulled him into a different universe with the Parallel Self power.
So what do we know about dlc 3?

>>564979980Don’t bother explaining to the dumbass, he’s one of those overconfident dumbasses who plague bethesda fandoms by skipping dialogue and quests because he has ADHD then complains that the story doesn’t make sense
>>564926683NG+ doesn't matter/justify anything. Upwards of 70-80% of people don't finish games, let alone replay them, so letting players break the game, or allowing the game to break via NPCs dying to some random physics issue since they aren't essential, just means large swaths of the game won't be playable for the vast majority of the playerbase, making having developed it pointless.Also-Most RPGs from Witcher 3, and Mass Effect, all the way back to many of the isometric classics of the 90s, don't just let you kill most NPCs-Most people playing games aren't murder hobos that try to kill NPCs unless the quest specifically tells them to.
My favorite part of Starfield is how ships are purchased at a staryard and not planetside, so that you need a ship to buy a ship.

>>564980662No, they’re not. Without them, the entire existence of Starfield, the entire reason why and how humans were able to travel to space and colonize distant planets, wouldn’t make sense.
>>564980504You can ferry passengers to other planets and to space stations. NPCs always comment about saving up money to buy ships. HopeTech lets people buy ships right out of the factory, Stroud-Eklund and Taiyo have planet-side showrooms for customers to browse for or build ships. Deimos is the exception, but the Staryard sees high traffic and is an immensely huge facility, plus the company has ownership of mining on Mars.
>pilot small ship: want to make a big ship>make the big ship: instantly get the desire for a small ship>repeatWhy am I like this...
>>564982991You can have both…?
>>564977850I mean the way grav drives work is by folding space over itself. Theory of Relativity already posits Time as the 4th dimension, so by having access to the kind of tech that fucks with dimensions, being able to exist briefly outside of time to see a bit of what's coming up isn't much of a leap from ftl. Gravity manipulation would be mass and magnetics which isn't asking much when we already have artificial gravity systems in game. The bigger thing would just be starborn juice is some kind of hyper advanced nanomachines, which means wither aliens or the very first starborn is from so far into the future that such technological capabilities are trivial and he went all the way back and has been mucking about the universe forever. Which would allow him to exist outside the unity ratrace of all the modern starborn.
>>564982046yes it would, starborn had nothing to do with it, it was "the creators" who left the artifacts
>>564983291No, it wouldn’t, you fucking moron. If Victor Aiza didn’t touch the very first artifact on Mars to meet his Unity self and saw a multiverse in which humans became a spacefaring race, then learned the impossible calculations from his alternate universe self/selves, grav drives literally would not exist.
>>564983689I wouldn't call the other dude a fucking moron if you writing the contents of some Starfield fandom wiki article (the contents of which I'm sure the other guy is also fairly familiar with) for all of us to read is your way of arguing/strengthening your position.
I think we're all fucking morons. Especially me
>>564983169Probably less so far into future and more so far from humanity's influence. Gotta remember that the Settled System rests in only a small pocket of the Milky Way Galaxy, could be all sorts of sentient aliens living just outside of humanity's reach with the current grav drive tech. Though it's more plausible thanks to Shattered Space that they exist in a whole different reality, possibly one that exists outside of time.
>>564984032No, dude, there was absolutely no other way that Bethesda could have written the grav tech and artifacts without the Starborn so they are objectively not lame and that anon's opinion is wrong and bad.

>>565012015Because only a small fraction of humanity actually made it off of Earth. i'm on a huge Alien kick lately. anyone have a giant M class that looks like the Sulaco from 2?
>>565019847eh vasquez, you ever been mistaken for a man?
>>565019847baddie
>>565022941
Troons should absolutely be banned from this thread tbph
>>565025297but then where would you go
This new grav drive is cool as shit. I was in pirate town spending all my money upgrading the frontier since I was ditching the ayy lmao ship since it sucks, and I upgraded everything BUT the grav drive and then immediately was overwhelmed with nerd rage the first time I tried to jump. But then I sold off a few more guns and bought this fucker and it's got nice range AND it looks neat. You get the sparkly swirling whatsits there but also all the lighting around here is coming from the grav drive and it pulses and moves. God bless you Todd Howard because I had a fun experience wringing out more performance from the frontier and it was a successful money sink. THE FUN NEVER ENDS
>>565025389mhm. ok,
so.. you guys like starfield?
>>565026904Not really.
>>565027028fair enough
>>565026904i was having fun until the creations mediafire got taken down
>>565026904i do. something about todd's games just scratch an itch that no other game does. cyberpunk came close
>>565026904eh
I like SFF better than CBBE, never could get a good ass with the latter in skyrim.
>>565027671funny how you actually can be a corpo in starfield though, unlike fucking cyberpunk.
>>565028004you can ultimately fall under ryujin's boot if you so choose, it's by far the worst ending
>>565028310lmao arasaka I mean, the other japanese cybernetics company with a black, white, and red aestheticfuck, todd really didn't even try to hide the plagiarism
>>565026904yeah i like starfield movies
>>565025959Listen man I just gotta enjoy my spaceship while I can
>>565026904Yessir
does this game not have much of a future after the weak ps5 sales and how this game can't handle a lot of mods?
>>565027858too bad the newer versions has its own face mesh so it doesn't work with any char customization mods
>>565032219no it doesn't, works fine with extended facial sculpting and chargen, it only has it's own face textures.
so I finally got around to getting the falklands ship mod, why is it that on yhe mk I canon, the laser variant doesn't equal hull and shield damage while the particle canon does more shield than hull?
>>565026904It's one of my favorite games
>>565032946it has its own face mesh.
Setting the planetary bodies to cast shadows is absolute kino
>>565032027Todd Howard says we are foreverially starfieldized
>organization dedicated to exploring the unknown>stays inside the settled systems
>>565026904
>>565034618good, 1000 years of starfield
>>565034153works fine with extended facial sculpting and chargen
>>565034818We all love Starfield around here and in all honesty would rather Todd just work on a big fucking expansion to Starfield rather than TES or Fallout which is probably the wrong move financially but god DAMN it I like Starfield more and it's a good sandbox and I want them expanding it TODD HOWARD DO YOU HEAR METODD HOWARD EXPAND STARFIELD RIGHT THIS INSTANT. VERIFICATION WAS NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS POST SO YOU KNOW IT IS CERTIFIED
Will i see a difference after upgrading my 5 5600G to a 7 7800X3D? GPU stayed the same, RTX 3060. Last time i played it was on low settings, no stuttering or stuff like that, but i hope it performs better with my new CPU.
I can't into ships
>>565034684Grav drive technology has plateaued and humanity can’t travel beyond the 50 lightyears range
>>565036987download ship builder configurator, allow part clipping, double click a part to select all parts attached to it and press j to control all of their color schemes at once
>>565038493or it might be ctrl + j, whatever
Why did they completely overlook Proxima Centauri b? There is a mod that adds Proxima Centauri system in general but seems weird they completely overlooked it in vanilla.
>>564980474There is literally a random universe you can get where an evil version of your character kills the lodge but you can't do that yourself.
>>565037370there is a guy during the Ryujin quest who claims to have a place to go outside of the settled systems though
>>565039508Name? You’re probably taking him too literally. How is he going to travel outside the settled systems if not one single grav drive can go beyond the limit.
Are you living the good life, /stag/?
>>564710736YOU OWE ME 30 MILLION CREDITS FOR THAT SPACEPORT
>>565043859We don't run this thread, but we have an understanding with the people who do
>>565043507Billy Butcher??
>>565042294the coffee boy in the first mission, tomo? domo? he pops up later if you don't blow his brains out for pulling a gun on you
>>565044540You’re taking him too literally, he definitely meant somewhere not occupied by any major settlements.
>>565033496gorgeous
>literally getting one-shotted
I made my character off some youtube video 2 years ago I think she cute
How have they still not fixed door and ladder placement?
>>565050220sje cute
>>565050430Bethesda doesn’t consider it a priority, even though they should.
>doing trackers quest for Seokguh>get through part in well with dudes coming after you all over it>had to come back a little later still mid quest to sell shit because I'm poor after just upgrading ship>must have missed one of the dudes because the second I enter the well a single one left effectively goes mass shooter on everyone in front of him to get to me>he gets killed by security standing right next to him but clears the area of everyone else including shop owner for surplus storeAt least taking advantage of a mass shooting to rob a store is in character.
when a major incursion bugs out are you supposed to just fuck around until it moves and hope it works?
>>565052542My unknown location major incursion won't fix itself
>>565036527depends if you were gpu limited before. i went from 5800x to new x3d and got a huge improvement with my old gpu because i was limited by cpu in the past.
>>565005232What fucking PoI is that?
last time i played starfield i found some cool places i never found on release and saw some weird aliens i never saw before how's the game now? i think i'm gonna install it again and give it a whirl
>>565035663He already has swimming pools of money because of the Microsoft buyout. They can just build a second team to do that gay shit, and keep working on Starfield. Fuck the normies, let them die from old age before the next installment of TES. Gay series, shit games (except Morrowind).
>>565043507Anon, are you the guy who has been posting in /stag/ since the game launched? I swear I remember this player character but I haven't been here in years.
>>565061324That’s a terran refinery, part of an incursion if it spawns planet-side rather than in orbit
>>565061493Game better now. More mods. Download mods. Play game.
>>565061689God, I have to get back to leveling.
>>565052542Yeah fly out of the system and wait until it moves
Sad that we'll never see this kino released, it still hurts
>>565070571what's that? earth?
>>565071218A mod that adds in futuristic Earth cities buried in sand
I can tell when I'm starting to burn out in Starfield because I stop bothering to look in every locker
>>565072831There's rarely anything good to find in them anyways. Real burnout is when you're using console commands to unlock containers, because you really just don't want to deal with that minigame right now.
>>565073286She gave him space chlamydia
>>565070571>>565071417is the project dead or something? that is a great idea for a mod
Finally got the asteroid player home can it have unlimited storage?
>>565074790it's far worse than that
>>565076085>(no)
PSA: the guy making the patches for StarUI just finally released the last two missing: Ship Builder and Outpost. Now we need someone to remake the whole UI so I can see the world unpaused instead of some gay blue screen
It's like the writers didn't realize that she and Cora live in the same building.
>>565085710Or they know 90% of people just wont care since most people aren't keeping track of NPCs involved in one quest.
>>565088646Interesting location. Never seen this before. Asteroid mine thing. All wrecked.
>>565088836
>>565089069
>>565088836Added in Free Lanes. There's two asteroid mines. The Redcap mine, and another whose name I forget
>>565089772There are just words for how much I hate these two
Definitely one of the more obnoxious avatar posters despite being 'technically' 'on topic'and he knows it tooWhat is it about Bethesda generals that attracts this specific sort of faggot?
>>565091193MORE THAN WOOOOOOORDS IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAKE IT REEAAAL
>>565089772I prefer right
>>565089772Which lesbian is the player character?
>>565089772which one is the butch lesbian and which one's the tranny
>>565098073Should be rather obvious by the choice in hair
>>564909325got some examples of how to do this?
>>565101237>examplesor tips rather
>>564909325I used to do that as a kid while playing a lot of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
