Arc-V had everything going for it. A brand new summoning mechanic that feels completely unique to all other summoning methods. It wove into its story all the other summoning types, something the previous series never did, they rarely if ever strayed from their own summoning methods. Arc-V had em all. It had the perfect setting for greatness. The series showed us that they were capable of designing good duels, the ones that are good are very high quality, but outside of those the vast majority are low effort slop. When you have such a good baseline and squander it, it shows all the more clearly. Oh and most of the new archetypes in Arc-V are top tier. I have a lot of favorite archetypes from it, even still to this day. That's another thing that makes its situation so depressing. This series was set up for success. Shame how it turned out.
