how do i build space fauna late game? small amoeba spam gives me the most fleet power and damage with flagella and 90% evasion but even with that evasion i lose a lot of them in combat easilyive wild swarm guardian cluster and coderyptic symbiots (ive no clue why i took the second one i misunderstood how the wild origin works for hiveminds)
>>564831921Worms or crabs were the by far the go-to last I played. Large amoebas have no evasion or speed for kiting carriers and shit fighters, small ones can't do shit and still die to anything with decent tracking or autocannons.

space fauna playthrough review :pro : it's fun! it feels like a pokemon training in space and experimenting with stuff like 6 X sized focused arcs on a single voidworm troika was hilarious and crystals that split into two and run at 600 speed with 90% evasion are pure joy cons : the ship designs felt limited compared to mechanical or bio ships there is no titan assembly yards so the only way to make your only titan ship (voidworm troika) is to make 3 adults and park them in a black hole and wait for them to fuse it's also exceptionally fucking buggybugs ranging from not being able to save my design to capturing fauna i shouldn't (mechanical_ship_ was in my viva and i couldnt do anything with it) i recommend it atleast oncealso the sentient wilds origin is fucking busted as shit if you focus on reducing empire size by 50% using civicsyou can get it even loweryour only empire size comes from planets so that's easy to bring down with ascension
>>564871705oh yeah heavy reliance on space amoeba H slots and like a billion small crystals WILL lag the shit out of your puny human hardware

Thematic roles are abstract labels that characterize the semantic relations between predicates and their arguments. Each argument of a predicate is marked with a thematic role, which indicates, in a very general way, the ‘semantic’ role played by the argument with respect to the predicate.

What kind of fucking asshole goes to another empire and demands to be subjugated to the tune of the emperor PAYING TAXES TO THEM holy fucking shit for the love of fuck why even program that to be even remotely possible. do i pay a scholarium a % of my own production or a % of what they need?
I still don't know why Stellaris "Taxes" etc. are on gross production rather than net. Swapping it over to a chunk of resource profits rather than a of gross production would solve huge swathes of the game's problems.Having it be a chunk of gross production is retarded as for 99% of a game's run, you are aiming for razor thin margins of 1500 production and 1495 upkeep, and you are harshly punished for not running razor thin margins (By falling behind empires that do.)How many patches has this game gone through and this STILL isn't fixed? Do they even play their own game?
>take the "Intergalatic STD" crisis in Stellaris>first step needs 2000 of a resource>its all tied to fucking espionage and diplomacy>literally biggest gain is one time 100 for defeating entire chasity empireThat will be a fucking slog.
>>565000312>Stellaris taxes work the same way like edo-period Japanese taxes workedNo wonder it's all sorts of wonky!

>2500 power cyborg army exterminates key planet.>Wormhole randomly opens in your capital system during a war, with the other end conveniently appearing right next to all your enemy's fleets.>Random planet explodes.>Event spawns a Leviathan in your system for no reason. My favorite part of Stellaris is just how many fucking events simply delete your save. It's seriously feels like half of the fucking events simply ruin the entire game without recourse and force you to lose without any ability to interact with or prevent them. The game would be a lot better if it didn't feature random instant-loss dice rolls automatically killing your entire run after 5 hours of gameplay.
Don't know if you lads pay attention to meme divegrass beyond when /civ4xg/ plays but Somehow I'M The Bad Guy is our rep on the /vg/ team. >>565039997lmao I didn't know awakened FEs could become the crisis
>>565040287I didn't either.I also was wondering why they had 94 colonies and then I zoomed out of the map and noticed they had fucking taken like 95% of one of the larger empires in the game... now they have over 4 million fleet power tooI think I might be boned, even with a full 3000 imperial fleet and multiple full fleets of my own I am just a bit over 2 million...
>>564991613If you go full clone meme all your genetics buildings add to the total clone count a planet can keep alive, plus the ancient clone vat buildings you can still move around I think? So you can very quickly grow your founder species on any new planets, up to a certain point. Only then do you need robots or aliens to grow furtherAt least that's how it worked for me the one time I tried it when biogenesis came out It felt good to fill normal worlds and habitats up fast, but I needed something extra to reasonably populate and make full use of an ecumenopolis
>>565040636I started a clone army run yesterday and you get>500 per level of the medical centre building (so 1500 total)>1000 per genomic research facility>1000 per clone vats, which you can get up to four ofso that's 6500 per planet (although you can't build your fourth clone vat unless you put it in an urban zone), and you still have your ancient clone vats for 2500 each
>>565040563yeah nah, time to just end this game, there's 211 infested worlds but I cant be assed to find them all and glass them
>>565042862LAZY.

>>565327972Can the AI plan canal placement or is it something humans can only do effectively?
>>565333004I'm not even sure they even build canals (not counting the panama canal wonder), but I highly doubt it considering how retarded it is at that as well as the golden gate bridge.
>>565333004AI does build canals though only on 1 tile gaps I think. It doesn't really know how to plan for those effectively since the foresight of deliberately building a canal to link 2 oceans like this (even if it was 1 tile) to then use boats in the other one is obviously far beyond it. If it does build a canal or acquire a canal it will use it though and from the point it has it it can plan naval invasions that use the canal.

Japanese are fun. You should try them.I prefer their units to the Egyptians, they have good ranged units.
Speaking of Stellaris DLC, the guide in the OP looks a little out of date and I'm not taking out a second fucking mortgage to buy out all the DLC I'm missing in a Paradox game. That's an excellent use of the game. But when you join a multiplayer session with eight friends and three of them ALSO claim to be the real humans trying to enact their human power fantasy because they lack imagination to roleplay anything else, hilarity ensues. In that particular case, two different Sols became the site of proxy wars as the real galactic players kept fueling the wars by sending alloys like we were alien shadow Jews. My trade federation of psychic gecko salesmen made a mutual agreement with the martial alliance fed nextdoor that had the only noteworthy human civ that session. After fighting eachother in a quick war, we bonded over our mutual hatred of machines and synths and declared jihad on the robot research coop on the other side of the galaxy. We failed and lost the game, but that was still a fun time

I love purity path ascension. genomic research facility gives 15% job efficiency, cyto revitilization center gives another 15%, and if you have the fallen empire medical building it's another 10% to job efficiency.

>>565458405>I want to interact with my concubines in every single game I playMaybe, you should seek help, that unhealthyWhat "unique interaction" with concubine can give to the massive space empire at a large? Fucking nothing, because single human is not important
>>565444134>Playing regular humans or the same empire gets boring done two times in a rowyou would be surprised. there are people that play stellaris exclusively as xenophobe humans because they're just that boring
>>565459503Agreed. Enchanced family interactions, making character system more in depth, adding much needed internal politics depending on govt model - its all not needed.Another crisis path everyone takes once and forgets about it, ships that use green mana instead of violet one to be built, more nerfs - thats the stuff this game needs. God knows how it might end if they start, we might wake up one day with stellaris where ships need supplies, where there will be actual logistics involved or internal politics or something equally awful.
The spacefleet tactica mod let's you build some really stupid shit. XL slots on cruisers? How could this possibly be abused?
>>565459953I actually prefer authoritative humans thank you very much. Xeno is only neat for cattle slavery while I pride myself in equal opportunity enslaver.
>>565461328You are playing the wrong game. Characters fucking suck in stellaris and putting more of them in with more interactions would simply make the game worse. I don't see how ships needing supplies would in any way relate to adding fucking larp characters in. That's a much more reasonable and appropriate mechanic to suggest.
>>565461778Truth nvke/10Characters in Stellaris suck and they really really cant be expanded upon. Its not like the game has/ever had mechanics like that but Paradox dropped any attempts at expanding on it in favour of adding another copy pasted "thing to be clicked on once a year".

Which faction in Heroes of Might and Magic: Old Era might be for me? I haven't played the game yet but was interested. I like factions that have beefy frontline units with maybe a few casters supporting from the backlines. I don't like factions that are heavily ranged or heavily casters. I thought maybe the human faction might be for me because they have knights which seemed like beefy frontline units but I just hate how generic the humans seem in this game. Is there any flair to them that I am missing? What other factions are there?
>>565583663Hard question, HoMM in general relies a lot on ranged and casting. I'm not aware of any strong frontline faction, but then again, the only factions I really know are the humans, the demons, and the undeads.
>>565584393In a game about Heroes of MIGHT and MAGIC you are telling me that there is hardly any MIGHT? What the fuck?
>>565583663Try them out in like 5 minutes and figure out which one you like the best? I have only played the demo so far so can only comment on the 4 factions there but humans seem like your cup of tea simply because they are the most defensive focused unit lineup. 3 base ranged units and rest are tough buggers with defense based abilities. Necropolis has more frail feel to it, only has 1 ranged base unit (though skeleton archer is so stupidly good that you do have 2 in practice), quantity over quality faction. Schism is probably the weirdest faction, 2 (3 the same thing as with skeletons with upgraded T1 being ranged) ranged units but the rest are more speed with powerful offensive but weaker defense though their T7 is hella tanky, most units have some kind of weird abilities to make up for their stat lines. Dungeon is probably the second pick for you, 2 ranged units with 2 slow and beefy defensive units and a fast and frail offensive unit and two units from somewhere between. If you are immediately put off by humans simply because they are humans go for dungeon, it's my favorite anyways. Not in anyway objective analysis and they may have changed the unit balance after the demo too.I think Hive has no base ranged units and only one upgraded ranged unit so maybe try them, I think they are more speed focused though. No idea what Grove is supposed to specialize in. >>565584476All units are mostly categorically might, magic is more of a hero thing because there are gamebreaking hero spells. Of course some unit abilities are pretty magical and stuff but that's not really what the game means by might and magic.

With heroes of might and magic to the people that play it, where do you get your fun from? I have always been curious about what aspects of 4x games people enjoy or like. That being said I think the core gameplay holds up still pretty well, you just have to get trough the T1 especially to get more hefty and impactful units. Stuff like bomber command is more of an art than a science sometimes since they need a clear approach otherwise they just fail to fire, you actively need to fight the urge to micro the unit otherwise they just derp out. Then you have "the problem" that if you actually want some of the new fun options, like proxy wars, you simply don't have enough civics to pick them AND the civics that make you viable.Feels bad.
>>565789660>I enjoy learning new systems and taking them apartMe too but Stellaris systems are so shit, gay and lame i dont care.I play for events, map paiting - getting hard because of weird sex mods is just a bonus that this game despererately needs.
>>565790467I guess but what happens when you know most events by heart, the map painting does zero neuron activations since no challenge involved in beating the increasingly braindead AI and the novelty of big tittie alien lady wears off and you can plainly see the procedurally generated shallow ass NPC #4353421 behind it? I'm seriously considering going back to, what, 3.6.
>>565791362I remember galaxy screenshots threads when update with cycle was first released.Really great example why stellaris is still popular even decade later, while hand holding themeparks like aurora are barely played and are mostly forgotten
>>565791362I played like 300 hours since the shroud rework, and I still haven't seen the end of the cycle a single time outside of the origin
>>565788886i really dont know what you guys keep complaining about i have played 400 hours of this garbage in 4.3 after years of not playing and everything i come up with works just fine on grand admiral mid game scalingthe only thing that could be shit is if you intentionally make a hedonist habitat build and instantly lose to consumer goods deficit
>>565791253I drop Stellaris and play better space 4x then - like Aurora, DW or Space Empires.

stellaris would be a better game if MP fags didnt cry about balance for some fucking reasonwhy do they always want to turn every game into some hyper balanced competitive game?if youre playing stellaris mp you should be all getting along and agreeing on house rules against broken things
>>565814181>if MP fags didnt cry about balance for some fucking reasonwhat's really shocking is that retards like you think this actually happens

In heroes of Might and Magic: Old era, what is the "normal" way to play the game? I don't want to do the campaign at this moment. But what is just a regular way to play that isn't imbalanced? Like how many AI etc.

I'm thinking of playing some Stellaris again. I know when 4.0 cam out it was very badly received and the reviews are still mixed on steam. In your opinion which version of Stellaris is the best way to play at the moment?(Please be civil)
>>565872903just play the latest version, or wait until 4.4 which is a custodian patch>(Please be civil)ur a fag
I'm in a city builder mood today, what should i play? My options are Cities: Skylines with Mass Transit, Industries and Parklife DLC, Workers and Resources: Soviet Republic and Town to City.

shouldn't a sex district produce Pops?
>>565901519Since when prostitution is about making kids?If anything widespread prostitution should lower pop growth as it did with real life.
>>565901615Why should prostitution lower birth rate?! Unless you make abortion legal.
>>565901839Because you have people that go fuck whores and either dont want to fuck their spouses OR dont even have to look for ones.General entertaiment districts are something entirely else, prostitution should lower pop growth.
>>565901615>If anything widespread prostitution should lower pop growth as it did with real life.Really? Because during wars through all periods and even if we go closer, to something like japan, prostitution boosted population pretty good
>>565901959>dont even have to look for onesI mean, given how bitchy inferior females are...
>>565901959>Because you have people that go fuck whores and either dont want to fuck their spouses OR dont even have to look for ones. Can't think of any real world examples.Fuck, even in modern world countries with legal prostitution have very high birth rates
>>565902027Prostituion could boost pop growth only in settings without contraception.Im pretty sure everyone knows that the point of going to brothel is sex and not kids.
>>565902175That's because they are shitholes, not because they allow prostitution
>>565902280Yeah, but enough about the United States.
>>565902175>even in modern world countries with legal prostitution have very high birth ratesAre they? >>565902192>>565902280Despite what hentai incel manga trying to teach you, sex tends to end with children. Also, different types of contraception were known since dawn of time, never stopped prostitution from boosting populations."Men think they don't need to care and provide so are less careful" historically beats your "well if I could pay money instead of seething in impotent rage, I for sure wouldn't want a wife"
>>565902442Aaaand here comes the /pol/, you couldn't help yourself.
>>565902603>sex tends to end with children. Not if you use contraception.> different types of contraception were known since dawn of time, never stopped prostitution from boosting populations.Because they were mostly very inconvinient to use so they werent used or out right didnt work. And having a kid with a whore was alwyas more of an accident at work than intended result so kid either ended up aborted.

Just realized that there wasn't a paradoxcon this spring, weird
>>565902749Nta but only an utter fool wouldn't realize the current system is incredibly disfunctional and counter-intuitive, you cant both claim to "respect" the sovereignty of others culture then act like conflicts between your own and theirs are evitable simply by sticking your head in sand, especially when said "respect" is actually crass ignorance passed as benevolent tolerance. You'd be shocked to learn the average "moderate" sunni muslim is merely a convenience away from acting like a warmongering savage, its an eye opening experience to see a meek Algerian elderly speak of how he'd impale Lybians on poles with genuine glee in his voice. You simply do not comprehend how radically different they are in their culture and beliefs, and that they hold dear certain concepts that would make your head spin trying to understand why the fuck anyone would think or behave that way willingly.Said another way, its one thing if some random refugees land on your planet for free pops, its another when the ships full of Prikkitiki who will be a pain to manage forever unless you do some dystopian shit like genetically modifying their aggressivity out or nerve staple them. Anyone who dont bother to make the difference is in for a rough time.
So how hard is army fighting in Song of Syx? Im starting to have a reasonable garrison of ~200/300 potential soldiers, but I dont know much about the training mechanics and it seem like they have dogshit stats anyway because they're mummies. Been playing as Tomb Kings in a warhammer overhaul mod and its pretty fun, albeit the early game was super slow due to no immigration. Also lmao just got a big accident in my stone mine causing the death of 18 workers at once, luckily none of my tomb guards were affected, but im annoyed that my luxurious crypt got filled instantly.
