So first off, the XIV Mobile is not Square Enix, it's Tencent. They originally launched with very predatory monetization, but the fanbase had a huge backlash so they toned it down so that there were no p2w elements. Think of it sort of like originally it was Dissidia Duellum levels of p2w, but then after the backlash it became MapleStory levels of p2w; you don't pay for power, you pay for cosmetics and convenience. But the thing is, it's just ARR, and so people download it, play it for a while, do all the dungeons, do the trials and raids, and then that's it there's nothing else to do and there was no incentive to spend any money - except $5, because the bot/RMT problem was so rampant that they had to put a price tag on being able to trade with people or use the marketboard in order to combat it.

But yeah, that's basically it. It's just Tencent's f2p mobile version of ARR and there's nothing to do and no reason to spend money. They wont even give them the equipment to do livestreams because it's not making any money.

That's just a mock up, but also they did say it is intended to look like a mobile game UI. They said that they think new players don't really know what to do or understand what even is possible to do content wise, so they're removing tomestones and basically turning the challenge log into a "battlepass" type thing where doing stuff makes bar go up, and the list of activities that award progress is more clear.

When this was first revealed, everyone's reaction was pretty negative. I guess that's why they led with it; they wanted to get the negative out of the way first. I'm not sure which one I think has the best UI. Pretty much every game up until XII has the same UI. I actually think I might like XIII's UI the most. I'd recommend trying for both of them if you have the time. If you can only grab one, then Fated Moment is probably the better option. It does big damage to the boss, which is more helpful than the buffs/damage that her other UR can give. If you're rerolling for stuff, it's alright to get one UR for your main and one or two extras, even if they don't belong to that character. That will let you play some different characters if the abilities are unique to them, and if they happen to be generic URs, then you can always slap those on Gaia in the meantime. Assuming the free stuff from the pre-registration rewards is still up, you should be able to do a few multis on the beginner banner right off the bat, which might help you complete the set. Ace/Fire RF, Auron/Shooting Star, Selphie/Wall, and Hope/Renew are all good choices for her in terms of generic URs. For SRs, you can always plug in stuff like Heal, Surge, Barrier, or Earth Breaker in your build to help you get by.

The only one you can play natively on PC is Breath of Fire IV, but I've heard the Steam port is pretty jank. You'd want the GoG port if that's the way you wanted to play it.

Otherwise, emulation is the only option. I don't recall any major differences between the PSX and PSP version of Breath of Fire III, but I'd probably go with PSX because you're probably gonna emulate the PSX version of IV anyway. Dragon Quarter you'd need the PS2 version.

SNES has I and II. There are also GBA ports of I and II. People generally praise the GBA ports, and you can move faster on the overworld in those ports. There is also a fan game for Breath of Fire II called "Awakening" and it's pretty neat, but I would not recommend that as a first playthrough of BoF II.

Their round-the-clock threads keep VIIR on the catalog at all times. Is it perfect? No, I wish we could rely on them for sales, but they are still useful in keeping VIIR advertised indefinitely. And there's a relatively low chance of any of them saying anything negative about the games, which is a huge plus.

Opera Omnia streams were the single most watched Square Enix Twitch streams, because XIV streams occur on a separate channel.
