Even with the limited perspective, it comes off as inhuman, especially because he just learned her background and is listening to her final words, and she's small and cute. He's 14, so you can expect some shithead behavior, though. Still makes him unsympathetic. I think they overcorrect in GV3 where he's too regretful, though, and doubts if he stood on the right side, but I think some guilt and PTSD does a lot to make GV feel more like a person. It's always been an issue with GV writing where his enemies feel more like people than he does. Maybe I am missing the point though, and GV being an empty person is what they wanted.
