Best /coopg/ I've played in a while it's the "open world" map from helldivers with multiple side objectives that give rewards with a multi part main objective.
It's a regular FPS but it does have some unique things (at least for the genre) like spells you can mix to get different effects such as acid spell plus fire equals big explosion the unlocks system involves doing multiple missions to complete quests and get rewards like new weapons and skins.
There's no hard set classes but you can mix and match spells to tailor for different playstyles like support, DPS or crowd control.
Shit's fun we'll see how much staying power it has but if the devs play their hands right it could be the next DRG not really a massive (accidental) hit like Helldivers 2 but still loved by the community.
Plus it's 19 bucks to try it's not like you'll be dumping 40 on a giant turd like HD2 or Darktide

When you crit each shot in a burst is also a crit.
mkVI has burst fire on both its hip and braced shot. With the braced mode generally how you rapidly bring the pain with a ripper. The other rippers have full auto braced.
Its braced shot, is a 3 round burst; Each critical roll creates 3 critical shots. Allowing you to stack maximum bleed off a single crit.
This feature also applies to Lucky Bullet of Burst Limiter Override, which can also be made into crits with the modifier node. Both squeezing out a few extra free rounds, and increasing crit rate making it easier to maintain full bleed stacks on larger targets.
And the mkVI also has the highest finesse modifier of the rippers, letting it get more regular damage out of those crits

The rippergun has a couple of quirks, and if you manage to work around them, it becomes quite usable. It is generally considered to be rather bad because it fills no relevant niche, isn't particularly accurate, a huge ammo hog, and kinda only works with ogryn's worst ability PBB. Everything it does as a generic secondary weapon is grossly outclassed by several other weapons, so being a dedicated PBB gun is the only thing it has left, and it isn't particularly great at that either.

For context, you need to be aware that we have one very VERY highly autistic dysfunctional troll who keeps shilling the ripper as his autistic hyperfixation, with nonstop lies, false-flags, and inability to do math. Most of the shit he says gets constantly debunked, and he has hours-long melties over it.

There are no "veteran shotguns", most classes have access to the combat shotguns, and they are good enough to be usable. I'm biased, as ripper v is my most used gun. So I've had a long time to adapt and maybe that's why I don't notice these problems.
I don't ever have ammo problems running it.
Snipers are deleted from infinite range.
Specials are instantly staggered and killed 1-2 bursts.
Can annihilate gunner shooter gangs.
Has ok monstrosity dps for emergencies.
Basically it does everything I need. Everything else gets punched.

Only if you build it wrong. It can reliably one-shot snipers some 90% of the time if you build it right, even at 70+ meters. The only hurdle is getting a single pellet to hit, which might require that you aim instead of hip fire. This does require a very dedicated anti-sniper setup (unarmored, specialists, blaze away, some +% ranged damage nodes) but you're also one-shotting every other disabler in the process except mutants, who get the rock anyway.

It's mediocre and worse than the kickback in auric. Its literal only niche is ammo efficiency, which is irrelevant unless you're in havoc, where it underperforms anyway because it's ONLY useful at shooting faraway enemies.

Yeah but stance is completely unnecessary for the shotgun to rape everything. Just pathing through the reload speed aura is virtually free since Imposing Force is such a good skill that most builds should take it, damage aura is additive and doesn't math well, and dog TDR is pretty bad. Judicious Efficiency is only 1 extra point spent, which is less investment overall than stance. Forceful TA gives more than enough cleave so you need neither the +25% on the left, nor the +20% strength to just obliterate everything.
And then you just invest in melee damage and put one point in BTL and you also have a build that rapes everything in melee, with an actually useful ability that does useful things.

You should have more than enough lockdown between flashbang and shotgun stun rounds. If you need more, you run BTL. If you need more yet, you run BTL with the CDR node. If you need even more, you can consider running EO for CDR, but that really starts getting into overkill.

Yeah, you can put blaze away + inspiring barrage on it, with around 66% ammo stat (doing that lets you proc both blessings on instantly on 1 burst), but that is largely a meme and not that worth it imo. You can do it, it's fine, but nothing amazing.
If you want pure damage instead, you just put blaze away + fire frenzy or blaze away + cavalcade on it and then dump Stability as low as possibly you can go.

And you specifically dump Stability, because Swiggers can't code and for some retarded reason ripper guns have an inverted stability stat.
Ie. higher the bar, HIGHER your recoil.


TL;DR
It's a 3.6/5 gun, not great, not terrible. But it is not something I'd bring to havoc. I have done some H40s with the ripper and beat the mission, but you can feel how under powered the gun is.

Havoc has indeed become easier with every major update, barring some outliers, like untested bullshit plasma gunners instagib wallbanging you (lmao) which got fixed, and rotten armor composition checking 90% of shitters making finding a viable team really annoying.
Even with the massive nerfs zealot has received, a semi-optimized team has still become stronger. Psyker received massive undeserved buffs, the veteran rework was an overall buff (and a large one), scum as a class is just stupidly overpowered in the hands of a good player in a good lineup, and believe it or not, the recent ogryn change was a substantial buff. I do think ogryn overall deserved the buff, but ogryn was already extremely valuable in havoc, and now got even stronger. I won't hear your retard cope about ogryn being bad, this isn't true. China loves to win at any cost, even if it means optimizing the fun out of the game, and their parties frequently have ogryns and smoke grenades in them. Do the math on that.

The things that are strong are too strong and need to be toned down slightly. I don't know what traumatized you faggots into thinking that nerfs need to completely invalidate a thing, but this obviously isn't true. Darktide needs small patches with short time intervals doing small number tweaks. Slightly less ammo on the overpowered guns, maybe some damage changes without invalidating breakpoints. Slight buffs on the weaker shit. There needs to be some kind of balance parity, instead of having a heavy sword + vigilant autogun build being useless dogshit compared to power sword + boltgun.

Reminder that some of the biggest balance issues are blessing related. The knife doesn't break the game, Untranny Strike does. Ogryn weapons don't break the game, Skullcrusher does. This goes the opposite way, too, with weapons that have no good blessings just being worse off for it. Look at ogryn's cleaver, it has basically nothing.

Again, stop being confidently wrong. The kickback requires only minor investment, and one-shots snipers at infinite range as long as a singular pellet hits. This just means you have to aim and put your crosshair on the sniper by like 50 meters, or if it's weirdly positioned behind cover, but every gun suffers this. In every other scenario you just one-tap them from hipfire. This also includes trappers.

Same for the rumbler. And this isn't the biggest problem with both weapons, it's actually their inability to penetrate fences. But with the GG, snipers are literally the only problem. It pulls out faster than most other weapons, and one-taps everything it needs to. No Hurting Friends goes on every build that wants to pretend to be viable anyway. Tactical axe is often overlooked. Put brutal momentum and headtaker on it and watch the trash melt. It doesn't really need much investment to make it viable(precision strikes is the only thing you'll really want for it as it is a finesse weapon, but you should usually take that anyway since it benefits ranged headshots too), and it's also highly mobile(only knife and dueling sword are quicker, but neither is as good at horde clearing) which makes it pair well with low mobility guns. A lot of other melee weapons will feel like crap to use without trench fighter drill, but the tac axe's default attack speed is so fast that you can forgo it, which is another reason it's a good pick if you don't want to spend points on melee talents.

Update your video drivers, then do a full reboot. If that doesn't help, verify your files through steam, and then through the launcher both. If you use command line to skip the launcher, that's most likely the culprit, and launching the game through the launcher once should fix it.

I had the same, and letting the launcher do its thing + updating drivers fixed it.
The only performance drops I'm getting now are most definitely mod related.

It's mentally ill behavior to look at a brand new game for the price of 1 (uno) darktide outfit and be afraid to pick it up because no one might be playing in 3 years.

Having put 10 hours into it (1/3rd solo which is serviceable, the rest with friends) it's fun and polished. Especially liking the fast movement and spell combo system. My only potential concerns are the limited weapon pool and maps getting stale. But it's early access. Even if the devs abandon it today I think I could get ~50 hours out of it which is fine.

NTA but even my circle of 20-ish close friends consists of mostly non-gamers, casual gamers, or autism gamers that only play niche shit like rimworld. I could barely get a group of 4 together when DRG, the most casual /coopg/ game there is, was flavor of the month. That's a little underwhelming. The plasma pistol is mainly good for three things; easy CHP recovery, AoE gunstrikes, and staggering enemies trying to play keep-away with you so you can either switch to your primary and gun them down while they're stunned or close the gap for a melee fight. I don't really take the plasma pistol because of its raw damage, which is respectable already. At least the power axe and chainsword seem interesting.

Maybe I'm just a retard but the wording here is confusing me. So class perks are tied to loadouts now, that much is clear (thank God), but does this also mean weapon perks are tied to loadouts too? So can I have the block chainsword set up for the full throttle skip on one loadout and then switch to the heroic chainsword set up for double stomps in the middle of an operation?
Also how will this work with prestige perks? Will I still have to deal with Versatile Precision sitting totally inert because I decided to switch off the Las Fusil in favour of the heroic BSR?
Wargear being unlocked for all classes (with some exceptions) is pretty neat, although I assume a new slot won't be made for it so you won't be able to use, say, the Salamander skin cloak with the brazier on Heavy at the same time since they'd occupy the same slot. Oh well, still more customisation freedom than we have now.

Peril going up is virtually irrelevant, it's only being at 97~100% you have to worry about, but every talent that raises your peril also stops working around there, so as long as you don't cast any magic, you shouldn't pop your head.

That's kind of psyker as a whole. You really kind of have nothing to bail you out of a bad situation, besides gitting gud at the basics. Dsword parry is a huge help ofc, so learn to use it in your favor. The closest thing psyker gets is a combination of center keystone assail hopefully clearing the screen, and shriek suppressing all of the shooters. But you have nothing like a shout ability, no gold toughness, and no second life like zealot gets it.

If you're still new and bad and learning, that's okay, psyker is pretty hard even after the retarded buffs it received recently nearly doubling its survivability (lmfao). Most people will recommend zealot for learning the game, because it both forces you to learn the melee, but also punishes you the least for making mistakes.

Kinda sorta, but I also feel like veteran is one of the harder classes to properly carry as. Really strong in coherency, but gets kind of stressful when you're forced to clutch, with how fragile you actually are when your toughness drops.
I'd say arbitrator is the class that just won't fall over. You have infinite toughness generation and all the tools to solve every problem if you build it smart. Makes no difference whether you're solo clutching or have actually competent teammates. It's also retarded OP in the lower difficulties lol.

I would say so yes. Scum doesn't get great survivability tools, most of your survival hinges on your ability to play the basics. If you are good at dodging, blocking, etc. scum is borderline overpowered, but it's an even more extreme glass cannon than psyker is. Psyker has access to some really impressive tankiness from the skills just below the auras, scum doesn't get that.
That being said, since you said you were playing malice, you should be fine. Get it if you think you'll have fun, but don't expect to do well in the higher difficulties until you can confidently stay alive with dodges.

When you're surrounded by a horde, use pushes more liberally than dodges. Block and push is 360 degrees around you, blocking is just much cheaper from the front. Psyker has really fast stamina delay, so you can push very often. If/when you're out of dodges, and have room to move, start sprinting and drag your ass across the floor like a dog with worms. Spamming slides tends to get you out of sticky firefights assuming you have enough room to move. It can be a little tricky to get the rhythm down, but that's kind of what a lot of havoc 40 clutch gameplay devolves into, so it's pretty much completely normal.

Tried Far far west, I got to admit I don't think it was for me. The gun's don't really feel unique enough to keep my attention, and I don't think the 'open world' style adds much to the game. The spells just kinda feel a little underwhelming. I think if they made the game have more 'oomph' to it, I'd enjoy it more, as in introducing a heat system to light a fire under the players ass and maybe an overclock system like DRG or something to make the guns more cool, and maybe making the spells more flashy or even letting you just build fully around them. I do like the movement being a tad bit faster than most in this genre, but it's not enough to save the other aspects of the game for me, nor is it's movement crazy enough to be a selling point on it's own.

Consider taking the bottom left reload on elite kill, too. You're a shotgun build, you need reload speed. Drop something near the top probably.

I feel ashamed for playing original DRG for so much. I tried to boot it up few times in the last 2 years and holy shit every time I had no idea how I played this garbage, it's painful, it's annoying, the unlocks system (all five thousands of them stacked on top of each other) are the most godawful thing imaginable, the combat is boring, the missions are boring, everything that is not digging a hole is just not fun. I assume the co-op market was THIS fucking bad if we played this pile of shit for 800 hours.
And now they're making the whole fucking game around the combat which sucks donkey balls, they removed the whole digging part aka the only remotely good part of the original game, replaced it with gayass pick-1-of-3-upgrades roguelite pederasty, AND on top of that they have added these grotesque abominations that make the fat balding they/them HRT groomers look like prime Vanessa Paradis. I can't even.
And the worst part? My bros expect me to play this because we played DRG together for so long.

I was lucky enough to NOT interact with it because I started in 2018 and unlocked everything bit by bit when they were adding things, but just the idea of farming promotion (while your teammates do events and assignments and whatsoever and all you can do is watch, not getting any rewards from events at fucking all) (and God have mercy on your soul if you want to actually play the game and not just a single class because then you need FOUR fucking promotes), THEN farming resources because the amount of ore and gold you get while doing 1-30 is not even close to being enough to level your guns and promote dwarves (while your teammates are still doing event and you're STILL locked out of them), THEN farming deep dives and weeklies (getting whooping 3 (THREE, CARL, FUCKING THREE) matrix core per week), THEN farming events (which might be not on the mission at fucking all, good luck playing multiple 30+ minutes missions without getting a single event) to get a minuscule PROBABILITY to get the overclock you need, and if you're unlucky you might play for a hundred hours if not two and still not get the specific overclock you want, and once again God have mercy on your soul if the gun you want to use NEEDS this overclock, because the last time all guns in the game were fully viable without overclocks was before they added overclocks to the game.

Then add the most retarded quests system ever seen by humanity when you're forced to complete the whole chain of missions (half an hour each) before you can take another quest, and if someone in your party is doing some different quest (because he's promoting a different class, or wanted to unlock a different gun first, or is just locked from your quest for now and can only do other quests) then he needs different missions because they never virtually overlap, so you effectively need to do x2 the amount of 30+ minutes missions to complete a single fucking quest (and the quest is normally takes 3-5 mission). Did I told that you're locked out of some guns as well and need to do these quests for them. Also iirc you can't do weapon quests before you promote the class.
And on top of that? If you don't have friends, GOOD FUCKING LUCK trying to find a random party to do any of this when the playerbase is split between the 50 different seasons and 500 modded servers.

Source: tried to bring 3 of my friends to play DRG, and they all gave up because you're locked from like 3/4 of the game for the first gorillion hours or so.

I think he meant that the weapon upgrade/customization system in DRG is better than in Darktide. Which I do agree with a bit, I do like the upgrade system in DRG more.

But I agree the assignment method to unlocking new weapon types is tedious, I don't absolutely hate it myself though. My only issue with it is if it gives you a mission that you don't like playing.

I started playing DRG very recently and remember when I was unlocking some weapons and then got a Low Oxygen mission to progress the assigment, I just decided to skip it and did another non-assignment mission instead to re-roll it.

In that sense, yes, maybe. The Darktide marks are basically green/yellow overclocks, except with these overclocks plus upgrade tiers you have more control over the weapon stats.
And the red ones OCs in DRG are the most fun, but I don't see how stuff like "let's turn this multi-barrel rocket launcher into the minenwerfer" would fit into Darktide.

The issue with them is that their niche changed. They used to be top tier meta but they were only ever buffed since, and now they suck. How does that happen? Simple, it's because the meta changed and killing unarmored masses does not fucking matter anymore. Not only are most things good at it now because of constant buffs, but the game barely every in any situation ever just spams unarmored units at you anymore. Back then you had to actually have a good horde clearer on events to not get swamped. This isn't the case anymore, now you get swamped by crushers and maulers and you want to be clearing those as a priority, which the ogryn cleavers aren't great at (they can do it but not fast)

The solution here is to either give them the dueling sword treatment and just make them do obscene damage to armor (the most likely Fatshark solution to not upset retards) or to actually balance the game and reign in power creep by bringing the spawns back to where they were near launch and balancing the game around it properly. As a side effect this would actually make the sound function better. 99% of Darktides sound problems happen simply because it spams so much elite/special noises that it fucks the sound engine up. It would be an objective improvement to the game in that sense if they knocked the power creep down a couple pegs.
