I know it's been controversial and has been discussed here several times, but why did they demote both the main villains? Nova went from someone extremely high ranking in Sumeragi (Tsuda wanted him to be the head honcho, but that was vetoed as too outrageous by Tai), someone who was called a lord and genuflected to by underlings, to just a lieutenant with charisma who acknowledges Kirin as his counterpart. Zonda is no longer the supreme leader of Eden, but a figurehead or ceremonial leader. Tenjian now dominates his relationship wiht Zonda, speaking for the both of them in GV3, rather than the characterization in GV2 where they have equal presence in their conversations with the player, with Zonda having slightly more authority overall.Is it because they want to set something up for future games, to make them less in control and thus more sympathetic, or for realism's sake now that Tsuda is less involved?

With Tsuda out, Tai is ascendent. Tai's an autist for keeping things consistent and "realistic." Tai never liked teens having high ranks in formal military units unless there's a good reason for it, even with intelligence and competence hacks. It's why iX does away with child leaders when a critical mass of adult adepts was achieved. Kirin probably wouldn't have had as much of a leadership role had he stayed on board to complete GV3 (he said he wanted to do a lot more with the nameless Sumeragi executive that shows up in the prologue level, for instance). As for Zonda, it never made any sense that she'd boss around the person who'd raise her since she was a baby, even if she was meant to be an "evil" Ciel. Zonda is weird, but she's not that weird.

How common is adept envy? The OVA portrays it a bit, and I think it'd be pretty realistic. There's some other dialogue where a nonadept is envious that he doesn't get to experience Lumen's songs like adepts do.

I like Gal Guardians so far but it's ridiculously short; I wish the game's answer to this wasn't just to make you literally play it over again and fight some remixed bosses, though slaying your way through a demon castle to collect girls' underwear is a fun idea. It's carried pretty hard by the character interactions, which I guess hardcore Gal Gun fans would get more out of. Well-designed boss fights like you would expect from Inti. They would seek to heavily regulate or restrict the diggers (and there would be plenty of veteran diggers who’d sell out to Sumeragi). Eden would be doing their usual revolutionary crap and would take the role of the air pirates. Gunvolt would be independent, and both of these groups would be his frenemies (hates Sumeragi more, and their plots are more serious, but has to play nicer with them when not caught in their plots since they own a lot of the shops; fights Eden more, but it’s less vitriolic). Don't know where the muses would fit in this. Maybe they're the ones who will lead/open the way to the motherload/paradise. Well that’s my fanfiction shit flushed down the toilet the day.

Why won't they even hint at what caused Copen to have his change of heart towards adepts? The 100 years between GV1's bad ending and iX are a big black box. iX2 would have been the place for it, as he's fighting the legacy of another universe's Copen who doubled down on many of his negative traits.
