Yeah but more likely case is that she just had a misconception or a different idea of who you were and then got wise in time. Love isn't a one year emotion it builds and matures over time, when you consider the amount of time a woman secretly humms and hawws over leaving/planning for what she's going to do after you (people seldom leave relationships without a 'next move' or future in sight unless something unexpected happens) then you're looking at maybe 8 months of relationship time she spent getting close to you, given the wind up and wind down times on either end of this year.
It's worse for your mind in the long run if you consider one year relationships to be matters of love especially if she dumped you. Best of luck on your game.

There's plenty of them flopping but the standards for them are really quite low as the genre is consumable with low replay value and there's a lot of quite short games in there. First DD i join in over an year. Someone maybe remembers my game, Arena is not that. In short, robotemplar was too big of a thing, so i've put it aside and making a smaller game from its assets.
RoboTemplar arena is an action, roguelike, bullet hell (a mouthful). You fight waves of enemies, you choose a reward/powerup, and move on to a new room.

Demo is 5min long if you play the tutorial, the "real game" can loop endlessly to test randomness
in this build:
- a new condensed (and hopefully better) tutorial; since Arena it's very fast-paced
- 4 rooms with random waves, and obstacles.
- working powerups: health+; orange ball buddy

In any gamedev space, programmers are the most saturated. If you asked everyone in these threads what their main skill is, they would generally say programming.
Look at this graph (godot community poll 2025, there's many more of these for previous years) and say "yeah, what we need is a programmer".

Now, this is for games in general. What about horror? In horror, programming is also much less important. "Look Outside", "Fear and Hunger"... these games were made in RPGmaker. They are horror-themed games. They are successful despite it.
Horror needs art and music composition and everything else to build atmosphere and tension.

The bias here is that these are only people using Godot, and naturally, maybe as you're implying, they don't stick around for Godot since it's a very programmy engine compared to RPGmaker or somesuch.

However, I do have a counterpoint to that. That graph represents /agdg/ specifically. Everyone here uses a game engine with very few using something like RPGmaker.
Also from experience, that's how it is, artfriends are generally rarer and people doing marketing or focusing on writing are even rarer. SKAdev was more of a writer, Knight Shift dev also used RPGmaker, PAT dev is one of the best marketers I've seen here. These aren't common.

Ygg engine. It was fun to walk around the map and left click on stuff, the cursor and the sound effects are very charming. I still think there should be a window with the keyboard shortcuts the first time you enter the game. I also couldn't figure out how to exit. Just a little heads up, this little glitch is fixed by updating the intel drivers, I used to encounter this when making little programs with OpenGL. They unbanned it and instead just required a notice on the page saying you used AI at any point in the game's development but they recently eased up on that too and now you only have to declare if you ship with AI art or sound assets. AI code, concept art, writing, etc don't have to be declared.

I'd argue it's the other way around. Video game enjoyers tend towards code/engineering careers more than art careers. If you go to any university and survey the CS/engineering departments vs the art departments on how many hours of video games they play on average per week, I'd bet you the CS department will be several times higher. Thus, when it comes time for everyone to select a hobby/side-hustle, codefags are much more likely to gravitate towards gamedev.

I got it to work. Awesome animations.

Unfortunately, the weird flickering happened again and I had to turn off. After a bit of tinkering, I've found that the flickering is caused by the full screen mode. If I turn off full screen and grab the top bar, it always goes away. It's hard to capture it in video, it looks like two frames constantly swapping. Maybe it's not too serious. I think it didn't happen the last time I tried it because it was windowed.

I'm sorry, my friend... I tried making a windowed version but as far as I can tell making the window smaller just clips the screen. Because of the way the subviewport is set up, lowering the base resolution fucks all kinds of things up. I'll see if I can fix it, but I have no idea how this shit works, so don't get your hopes up.

The game should actually be playable as long as blorb stays on screen (the button at the top of the pause menu is just resume)
