Well, all good things come to an end. Looking back, I have blogposted Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters, Rewrite, and Summer Pockets Reflection Blue (RB) here. All of them were great games with a lot to appreciate. Some more flawed than others of course. You can always feel the passion and love that Key's staff pour into each game. Regarding Summer Pockets RB, even if it has a new coat of paint and different scenario writers, it is without a doubt a continuation of what Key does best: making fun and heart warming stories that touch a piece of your soul.Summer Pockets RB is pretty close to being a successor to Clannad. You follow an aloof and struggling young man throughout his daily life. You see the MC grow alongside wacky yet loyal friends. You get up close and personal with heroines who seem happy and/or mostly normal on the surface, but have their own troubled past that they have to confront. Plenty of other similarities between the two games, but Summer Pockets RB brings more of a colorful, warm, and vibrant spin to this kind of story telling. It's all about enjoying the limited time that you have with special people. Despite its summery and high energy vibes, it's also not afraid to tackle dark and depressing topics too. At times, it's so realistic that it's hard to accept an outcome and you almost wish for some convenient magic to give you that picture perfect happy ending. The writers aren't gonna give you something dishonest like that. Each story was written to make you laugh, cry, smile, and get invested in the journey from start to finish. It's probably impossible to not love at least 1 character from this story. Personally, my favorites were Umi, Shiroha, Nomiki, and Ryoichi (Sunohara's tanned reincarnation). I already provided most of my detailed thoughts throughout the 363 blogposts posted here, so there's not much else to add to this summary. Maybe I'll blogpost again one day if and when Anemoi gets translated. Until then, enjoy your VNs, /vn/.

Maya gets Reset and you think we're finally going to get a new look at her and Akira's history, but the story ends up dragging its feet there too, using Akira's resulting breakdown as an excuse to prevent him from interacting with her. It certainly has a lot of charms regardless, and spinning the wheels also provides a lot of time for SOL scenes with the girls, but once you fall off the train it's hard to get back on knowing how long it takes for plot points to be fully delivered on. The incidental yurishit drags it down too.
