The thing I kind of hate about wilds is how the setting is basically the same as world. Why did we need two back to back games set in borderline identical setting and locale? The cowboy spirit in world is cool but wilds then just sort of didn't deliver even that but insists on the same new world setting. Why not come up with an entirely new theme? Did they jsut figure "world sold like hotcakes so let's just do the same shit again"

Only the snow area is vaguely interesting in wilds and it honestly feels a little unfinished. I want an autumn forest and a comfy village not this base camp shit

Pink Rathian and Ivory Laggy murdered me into a oblivion, so I went to the next story area, got weapons and armor from some of those monsters, which Steve and Frankenstein also murder me into oblivion, went back to the first area, and shit is still murdering me. I'm level 25, I feel like I should not be this fucking weak, I beat the final boss of Stories at level 36. The hell is with this game?

I've been playing around with sacred sheathe and it's a pretty solid package
The sheathe itself is very versatile and the attacks themselves have hyper armor so you can be really aggressive in landing them despite the longass charge time
The other playstyle involving the counter circle and special sheathe seems way more monster dependent and a pain in the ass in multiplayer, but is probably pretty enjoyable in singleplayer where all attacks are going to be aimed at you

There is some nuance in parrying with the sheathe or foresight slash or just using the spirit combo to get to red faster, but yeah when all your damage is so heavily loaded into the sacred sheathe finisher everything else feels perfunctory
Apparently the circle gives you 100% aggro if you're hosting the quest so you can at least try to make special sheathe work in multiplayer if you desperately want to chase that life
