Is it right that Bulma keeps the Dragon Balls locked up at Capsule Corp instead of anyone else being able to find them? Wasn't the purpose of them being scattered across the globe after being used meant to be so that anyone can find them and use them however they see fit? She doesn't own them. Just because she invented the Dragon Dadar doesn't mean she should gatekeep them from others. Maybe some humans want to collect them?

Also, should the Dragon Balls have been used to resurrect people? Death is a natural part of life. However, these characters have discovered a power to let them right what they believe to be wrongs. If you believe yourself to have a moral obligation to resurrect those who were killed, why stop there? Shouldn't you want to fix ALL wrongs in the world? I'm involved in developing a dbz game, my role is associate creative director. My questions are
1) Should transformations (Vegito, Gogeta, Gotenks) be separate characters or only playable as a result of a transformation during gameplay. (Note: the creative director is leaning towards transformation only, and only able to be performed when playing vs with multi-team mode. As an example you would need both Goku (Buu Saga) & Vegeta (Buu Saga) on your team for the transformation to work.
2) Should giant forms/ transformations be restricted to animated finishers (somewhat like fatalities in mortal kombat). The game isnt well suited for overly large characters due to the gameplay mechanics. And story mode exclusive giant characters are also featured, though this is a very different style of gameplay.
3) Should the game include relatively unknown henchmen style characters? The models already exist due to story mode. However there move sets are not robust, very similar across the border for many characters. The odd character may have a novelty or gimmick but nothing too different.
4) Should we include characters, elements, lore from beyond the 80's & 90's. There are currently no plans to go beyond the original anime run.
These are regular routine back and fourth discussions and deliberations that the creative team go over with the creative director. Seeking some audience feedback.

It's still weird in FnF's case. Goku and the others were only aware that Trunks is about as strong as Goku, and the androids were stronger than Trunks, and the training still failed at making them catch up. In FnF, Freeza is only aware of Goku killing Buu, and Buu is someone his father warned him to not mess with, so Freeza knows Goku is stronger than someone he never met or knows how strong he is, trained for four months, and became stronger than Goku in SSB, a form Freeza had no idea Goku was capable of reaching and is far beyond anything Buu. In both Goku's three years or training, and Freeza's four months of training, they both were training to surpass someone who's only vaguely stronger than someone else, but Freeza succeeded, and the only real difference between both is that he knew exactly what person he wanted to surpass, while Goku had an idea of someone whom he wanted to surpass.

I just realized the player character looks different in the first part of the in-game thing than he did in the second. I saw someone say that the part with Brett was a CGI cutscene while the one with Bulma was actually an in-game cutscene, but we already saw what the CGI ones look like in the Age 1000 trailer, they look like the other Xenoverse's.

I think they're both the player character model, left is based off of Toriyama's design of it while right is the standard build.

I personally prefer the Budokai style of transformations being only power ups, though changing a super attack for a form's iconic move is cool too. It's less work this way because then you don't need to come up with movesets for what's essentially filler forms like SS2 Vegeta.

Kishimoto is mostly doesn't do a good job at showing how much better characters became after training. It's particularly bad after Naruto trained with Jiraya, since the only difference is his Rasengan becoming a little bigger. His fighting style also didn't look better, unlike say, Goku's post Popo training. Anything actually useful Naruto could have learned from Jiraya like sage chakra was only taught to him late after Jiraya died.

At least with Jiraya, there WAS an improvement. Kakashi kinda taught them one utility move and then only took care of Sasuke. Which is especially fucking flagrant when he threw them at the Chunnin exam when out of the one team, only Sasuke could reliably fight with any level of competency (Naruto was EXTREMELY hit or miss and dependent on a few tricks or Sasuke picking up the slack if he didn't use Kyubi's chackra, Sakura was Sakura) and had any all around skills as a Shinobi (Naruto was hopeless outside of a fight and Sakura was only good at theory stuff).

It makes sense he did that, because Naruto's upcoming Chunin exam fight was against Neji, who while someone who would have killed Hinata, only did so out of rage at Hyuga's main branch, so he wouldn't kill Naruto, while Sasuke's upcoming match was against Gaara, who most certainly would kill Sasuke. Plus, Kakashi got Ebisu to train Naruto, and later approved of Jiraya training him, so while he focused on Sasuke, it made sense considering Gaara was the life or death fight. Sakura definitely got the short end of the stick though, because while she was eliminated from the exams, she shouldn't fall behind training, so him not getting someone to train Sakura is pretty fucking negligent. You do make a good point about him putting them on Chunin exams so early though, specially since Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura only went on one mission together and had pretty poor team dynamics, which we even see on Land of Waves itself, where Sasuke was planning for Naruto to stay outside of Haku's barrier, but Naruto got inside anyway, and that almost got both of them killed.

We've had conversations about Goku living in Naruto's world before, it was generally agreed water jutsu is the most fitting for him. In particular it made sense with Daima, where Goku's fighting style there gave me a "going with the flow" vibes.

In previous conversations I've suggested for him to not even live in Konoha, but instead Mist villages, maybe even from Kaguya clan. It's fitting to allow him to have water jutsu, and to maybe come from a clan known from being bloodthirsty but Goku himself is a calm friendly guy.

I was there, I was one of the people who mentioned giving him Kimimaro's thing. It would also help justify how strong he was because Kimimaro might legit be one of the biggest prodigy in Naruto given that he was overpowering a Jinchuriki like Gaara while having uber cancer and being seconds away from dying of said disease (also gives Goku a chance to have to deal with a heart virus equivalent) and generally has massive credibility and good faith in fandom for it.

Forgot to say but we didn't at LEAST two more arcs of them doing missions before they went to the exam.
Going from the Land of the Waves to the Chunnin Exam was a mistake and you can really see how hard Kishimoto struggled with making Sakura and Naruto actually accomplish anything until the Jiraya training started. Especially since we're supposed to believe Sasuke meant THAT much to Naruto and Sakura by the time he left.
The arc was still good but it create cracks in the foundations that affect the rest of the story until at least the Pain Arc.

If you actually analyze things, Naruto falls apart real fast. Jiraya's death is a particularly bad moment. Jiraya decided to write a secret code on that frog's back, a code only Naruto and Kakashi could find the source to really translate, and he sacrificed himself for the message to be delivered. The MASSIVE problem with this is that the frog he wrote the message in can talk, so the code is COMPLETELY pointless. And to make it worse, later it's shown that the frogs can reverse summon humans, so Jiraya could have been teleported away... And there are a lot of problems like this. The later reveal/retcon that Shadow Clones when destroyed send their memories back to the original user means Konoha are a bunch of retards for not using it more often for information gathering (Send clone somewhere > Memorize info > Kill itself > Info goes back to the original), and it makes Kakashi look EVEN WORSE as a teacher for not having Naruto use them for studying or training before.

Suprirsingly the Kaguya clan (かぐや), and Kaguya's (カグヤ) name, don't have the same spelling, but yes, the bone power is too specific. If Goku were to be part of the clan though, I wouldn't want him to be super special like Naruto and Sasuke. While Goku is special, it's more so because of the way he goes about his life. Being a saiyan is a great perk but he only reaches this far because of his mentality, so a Kaguya clan Goku should be just another guy from it, who unlike the rest, has the right mentality to grow strong.

During the war Kishimoto had an attempt at pushing Sakura to Naruto/Sasuke level, but then Sage of Six Paths gave them one power power up, but point is, there are ways to make Goku keep up even while playing under Naruto's rules. I feel if Goku were to be balanced around Naruto, he could eventually be just below End Naruto/Sasuke. Essentially, what 8 Gates Guy is to everyone else, only without the risk of death.

It boils down to tie, budget, and team size/ individuals capabilities., generally.
Discussions right now are lesser known henchmen with generic movesets though enjoyed by some for the sake of character variety would meet criticism as feeling lazy, incomplete, or just adding skins to the same movesets. Fear of negative reviews and criticism impacting sales.
Same said for giant characters, their inclusion in the regular roster would make the combat feel clunky and their movesets are basically similar with large stomps and slow punches.
Yeah original dragon ball is largely ignored, its low priority. Z is top priority, GT comes second with some popular characters in top priority, and original comes last. The game does begin at the 23rd world martial arts tournament though. Characters without flight are harder to include, same reasoning as above, they would just be criticized for taking too many creative liberties or ineffective/ non-competitive/ meaningfully viable game play wise. The slow fall descent mechanic can only be utilized so much.
