I'm not sure if this Umbral was easier than usual, or if Fangyi is just THAT OP, but I really cruised through it this time. The only stages that offered a speedbump were the slime stage (more of a camera targetting issue than anything else), and the tentacle monster (I am not good at dodging, I fear - though most amusing was the time that Fangyi's attack actually backed her INTO the runes it was carving, freezing her just before she could interrupt it with a skill).I'm not... Super sure what the Rhino or Golem gimmicks were supposed to be? Those just felt more like a normal protocol space than anything else... But the Zombie stage was a blast, going all avenging goddess on everything. Not HARD, but satisfying to just thunder down a hungry mob.All in all, a pretty fun Umbral Monument this patch.

Umbrals just reinforces every time for me that there *is* genuine fun to be had in the combat. The fights across the board just need to have a bit more bite and last longer, that's all. Agony Umbrals (which already aren't THAT hard) really should be the baseline level of difficulty at max level/endgame

...Am I missing something? I've always gone Perlica Infliction -> Fangyi Last Strike -> Fangyi Combo -> Perlica Combo (repeat). The animation delay ensures Fangyi's combo takes place after Perlica's despite what the activation order suggests; Perlica's Elecrification becomes Fangyi's Infliction 2, as reported by the symbol under the enemy's health bar. This has always been extremely consistent for me, unless their timers become desynched for some reason (usually, Fangy's combo being interrupted for whatever reason). Since when has this been a big problem?

It’s the only UE5 game I’ve ever played that has good performance, it succeeds at many things Western open world city games have utterly failed at, and it has a bizarre amount of soul and effort put into the more horror-focused side quests - but then the characters all look like low-effort AI slop, half the background props ARE low-effort AI slop, and they frontloaded the story pushing a mascot character more annoying than Paimon and Abby combined.I’ll keep playing it, because parts of the game are beautiful to look at and the driving is fun, but man they need some better art directors and designers going forward. Maybe promote whoever on the team had all the good taste with the car selection to that role.
