Seeing everyone hyped over that new Starfox remake makes me a little sad. There are people growing up right now that refuse to engage with a game if the graphics aren't realistic enough.

I can see why most of /v/ is brainwashed and hates Terraria for not having realistic 3d graphics.

add a mast coming out of the deck hole made of background walls (and maybe another coming out of the roof of the cabin)

flatten off the underwater backside of the boat; the type of hull you have is typically seen on dinghies, not ships that large. add a rudder or a propeller off that flattened backside

decorate the bottom room with piles of coin and bars of ore (i assume you're waiting until hardmode to decorate it with golden furniture)

Okay so, Minecraft has the 2 week phenomenon; What's the equivalent in Terraria? I sincerely got bored when I got to Plantera, and I just don't want to play it anymore atm. BUT I did spend 100 so hours building in this World, so I can't say for certain if Plantera is the moment some people get bored (I just remember seeing another anon mentioning he dropped the World as he got to Plantera).

i tried learning french when they had us take the mandatory foreign language classes
the way they count was one thing, but it was otherwise managable
once we got into conjugated verbs and gendered language my brain completely shut off because there was no rhyme or reason as to why a ceiling was feminine or a floor was masculine, and there was no way I was memorizing all that
imagine my disappointment that like every romance language is gendered and english is somewhat unique for having "it"

What we call the numbers is indeed stupid, but it's incredibly minor compared to how needlessly complicated the verbs are.
Every noun being gendered is not an issue if you actually grew up with the language, as it's mostly just what phonetically sounds the best (with some words been known as hard to gender as they sound about as good as either gender, like trampoline), if you are trying to learn French as another language then yeah, it's going to be a complete mess. While English is much better as a language (being very simple), it lacking the use of gender for anything other than pronouns has caused a lot of confusion on what gender is to the general (extremely dumb) public, that being just a grammatical thing and nothing more.

The fact that so many schools across the world do this is absolutely baffling, as none actually succeed in making students learn anything useful. I remember that my high school did have Spanish classes, but only mandatory for certain students, those chose to be in the group with "more in-depth classes". Now, I am unfortunately French Canadian, meaning we already have two language classes in French and English, but want to know what's funny? You would think being in a country that is primarily English-speaking would mean that English would be taught well, but you would be completely wrong. English is taught the same as those foreign classes (i.e. not at all), from little school to the fucking end of high school. I knew English well due to the Internet and video games, seeing basic preschooler-tier subjects being taught and some of my classmates unable to understand, let alone speak basic English at the end of school was dumbfounding; so there being Spanish classes on top of this was just insulting.


Anyway, Terraria. What's your favourite furniture set added in 1.4.5? For me, it's a tie between Aquarium and Snow.

Another fun fact is that despite being part of the English-speaking country that is Canada, French Canadian French is better at being French than French French, the frogs use a ton of English words in their speech.

Yeah, it started happening when the thread's subject started appearing in the OP. What you have to do now is F5/refresh the page, and only then will posts start displaying the timestamp upon hovering. A few days previously, it would only do that for new posts. Who fucking knows what they're doing behind the scenes, this change is objectively worse. Tripcodes are even in bold now, so anyone using one looks like an imposter. Oh, but if you update the thread and there's a new post by someone using a tripcode, it appears normally, only becoming bold if you reload the page.
