This game has been in a steady decline in numbers since the meta has been focused on DBP decks, which no one was really emotionally invested in, from Maliss to DTail to Kewl Tunes. But you could notice an uptick when they released the Sky Striker support.

People bitch about "favoritism" but it's clear which decks people actually like and which are only played because they are meta. So Konami would be wise to cater to people who actually enjoy the game instead of the ones who can only whine about whatever they face against.

Tartaros fuses from the GY so it's fine to Link/Xyz/Synchro off all your dudes and get Xeno anyways. If you rip Ash/Belle or open multiple yourself, you can also just normal summon it and go into Baronne with any of your dudes (7+3). And since you don't need your normal summon and Jauzah is Light, you can run Mega Zaborg.

It's playable, probably not a real 'upgrade' but it diverges from regular gameplay enough to catch people off guard. Cyanos is necessary tech to make up for the hand discard though, which means you gota burn an ED on Clockwork Knight - same reason he's running black goat.

Dude's got a bunch of striker comps from the last couple months on more standard lists, probably the best all-rounder to give you an idea of variable constructs and play patterns

Yeah striker is totally playable and feels good (I just ran D5 through to M4 in the last week with them after having never once used them before), but boy howdy do you have to play turns out perfectly. There's nothing worse than getting hyped for an awesome replay as you deconstruct a board only to make one misplay and lose it all; had a mitsu ryzeal board just a day ago I haven't stopped thinking about, I annihilated their board and shark cannoned their murakumo against a two card hand, only to lose because of miscalculating how far one Aramasa + one prayers against a forced discard can get them even after blowing their T1 load. None of what I said involved Mitsurugi. You just incidentally can search Habikiri off Archosaur, because dinosaurs can randomly search reptiles for some reason. So you do full GMX combo, end on that board, and now also have a Habikiri you searched in hand.
If you don't want to run Mitsu, you can use Archosaur to search Evolution Pill instead to end on Tyranno/Qoatl, but I don't like running those garnets so if I'm not running Mitsu I just cut Archosaur altogether.

Again, this kind of lack of analysis is exactly what I'm talking about. It feels like TCG players don't even like to play the game, they just wait for tournament results and copy whatever's on YGOPD. It's why we keep ending up with posts like >>566485960 every couple of weeks.
