I was excited for the CORE swap, for example, but it's just Power of NEO (unused) but INTENSE with Undyne instrumentation / motifs and it feels like it's tripping over itself trying to fit these two aspects together; I wouldn't have minded if the song differentiated itself as it progressed, but I was disappointed by it just being "Power of NEO but Undyne".I really wish I could elaborate further, but I don't have much to say beyond "it's alright but there are issues with the way lex integrates motif in a way there aren't with Toby Fox on a compositional level". I don't have the knowledge to articulate it effectively, I just wish it was more self-referential musically. Create and use motifs based on Undertale's creation and usage of them instead of using stuff from Undertale / Homestuck to the point that the "Megalovania" equivalent is just a remix of "Heir of Grief". It'd be cool if they created their own fake "Megalovania" backstory (loose remix of an old RPG track remixed again in Underswap) to go along with the "Tory Fox" bit, but they don't do that, it's just a Homestuck reference because Megalovania was in Homestuck (even though it was a Gadobadorrer ripoff first!!!). I guess I wanted it to feel more like a true "parallel Undertale". It doesn't really live up to that expectation
