It’s weird that people are still ambivalent to the cosmic horror aspect of darkners. Yes. They want to be used. They are objects meant to be used. It’s not like slavery, it’s like jobs they’re passionate for and it would be worse not to let them fulfill their purpose but they will all get thrown away in the end and that is still scary to me regardless of how real they are. If the game does not end with the worlds fusing which it should. Then it should end on the message that objects must be properly cared for and maintained as long as possible. This is how objects can contain similar history between worlds, how objects can contain memories of places and times during which they hadn't been sentient, how Lightners can suffer real injuries despite having no clear damage in the Light World, etc. What I mean to say is that there simply is no way to merge the Dark World and Light World, because both of them are alternating views of the same base reality. A "clopen" or "merged" state is, in fact, the Roaring, which is the complete and utter annihilation of the Light/Dark balance as we know it.I'd explain more, but I'm running out of space.

There is no need to break a barrier or "merge" because they are already one contiguous fictional world, just on a spectrum of more to less fake.

I've been giving my big theory about there being multiple Knights and monster souls being extracted from their hosts to make them a lot lately, and might it be possible for a monster who's soul was extracted to become a goner?
