I don't mind if they add more PvE oriented options. What I don't want though is for the best "play" to be to loot up in PvE because its not as dangerous AND then go into regular raids with players in it. I believe that if they do add PvE, it should be rep oriented as in the reward is mostly rep based and maybe upgrade materials but not super great useable item loot. If they do add PvE, they do however need to make some way of enticing both PvE oriented players and PvP oriented players to engage in each others respective area. Like give a reason to occasionally jump into other game modes etc.

had a couple of fun interactions on prox chat today. Heard a assassin sneak up on me while I was doing return on investment 5/5 (traxus quest line). I called him out for it and he answered, saying that he wouldn't try to rat me, he was just "checking what was going on. When the red walls dissapeared he stood outside the area, just teabagging and jumping around. All of a sudden, another assassin snipes him in the head from a building not far away. We both pop invis and push the sniper. My friend gets downed but I manage to kill him. I then offer a self res to my firend. After we're both healed up we proceed to loot the sniper assassin we killed (found a purple sniper but not much else). He then followed me to exfil to help me extract so I could finish my quest. Apparently he was from Ukraine. Nice guy.

Camping is largely more of a Solo game, but it's barely ever worth it because you're also on the map to either wipe your opponents or grab the loot and you can't be on each and every extract at the same time. Even then, these are issues solely for Perimeter and Dire Marsh, both maps with multiple simple exfil windows vs. the ultra sweaty environment of Outpost/Cryo.

The best part about Marathon in comparison to a lot of other extraction shooters is that the map ecosystems have hostility built into them in spades. Offer people who want to experience the story or play more scav/PvE centric a chance to go through priority contracts that are less competitive, but offer little tangible rewards in comparison to the more contested ones. Make even the shittiest runs count and give both the PvP and PvE crowd a reason to engage with the PvE portion as time goes on.
