Mapnuke EditionThe Wheel has turned once againDominions is a fantasy turn-based war game created by two dudes. One of them is a teacher. The game combines a simple presentation with an extremely wide array of strategic options, including over 3400 units, 1100 spells and 400 magic items. Turns are resolved simultaneously, with players planning battles rather than directly controlling them. It has simplistic graphics but is easily moddable and extremely deep.Basically, it's an autist’s wet dream of a war game.>Our pastebin (extremely outdated)https://pastebin.com/wjbSA98Y>Steamgrouphttps://steamcommunity.com/groups/vanheimageofvidya>Multiplayer guide/game hosting services>Hinaserver https://arch.b4k.dev/vg/thread/548312356/#548526452https://hinaserver.net>Blitzserverhttps://blitzserver.net(Dom 6)https://beta.blitzserver.net/games>Llamaserver:https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1212948582>Documentationhttps://illwinter.com/dom6/docs.html>Tools>Mod inspectorhttps://larzm42.github.io/dom6inspector/>Wikihttps://illwiki.com/>Pretender calculatorhttps://zollqir.github.io/pretenders-dom6/https://caleb-distributive.github.io/pretenders-dom6/ (website down?)>Debug modhttps://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3083231618>Communion fatigue calculator (still dom5)https://instacalc.com/53495>Automatically prevent starts in all provinces with less than X connections (still dom5)https://nixx.is-fantabulo.us/dom5ranmapnos/>How do I change the fonts?Replace guifont.ttf, guifont_fancy.ttf and guifont_texty.ttf in the game's 'data' folder (C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Dominions6\data)>Fan arthttps://thronebooru.booru.org>Sloop’s Comfy Balance Modhttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1zeDyK8Zb_p4lIJ0yp3a3ikMprRkmBCWvy31_4jBen3Q/edit?usp=sharing>other asynchronous strategy gamesSolium Infernum.Previous Pantokrator>>566214845

Do the Skaven get a cave start in Warhammer? I was surprised to see the dwarves didn't.
>>567296624Eh, everyone built them regardless
So with infernal monsoons how's it going down? Will Mammon survive???
>>567310463If I still could cast spells then maybe, but as it is, no.
>>567310463The monsoons will last a few turns, but the excommunication will be 3 at least. Belphegor seems to be out for blood and he's 2 turns away.I'd throw a couple rituals in there because I've grown fond of our glue eating Mammon, but with that also being out of question, I don't see any way he can survive. Other than by some extreme coincidence, like the leviathan being summoned and it just happening to chose the perfect path over Belphegor's legions. Maybe one of the two or three events that nukes a random legion getting lucky and hitting one of Belphegor's. Although at this point anything like that has a significant chance of hitting Astaroth instead. Dude's playing pokemon
>>567305656Yes, and I miss having decent mapmove
I kinda miss quickness not being so expensive it's almost a meme bless
What's a good starting point for scales and pretender type bless for Piconye?Everytime I look at this nation I don't even know where to start. They probably want some resistances because evocations would probably just delete them I guess?
>>567316783You kinda really want an awake because your troops are fucking awful, so you'll want them both for expansion and for not getting immediately eaten by your neighbors before your (very good) mages come online because none of your midgets can actually hurt anyone wearing decent armor. The cheap crossbows are the main saving grace of the troop lineup. As for not dying to evocations, you're best off just summoning some bait- the upside of nobody having HP is that mages won't hesitate to target pretty much anything else if they can.
>>567317359As for blesses, if you can actually afford them resists aren't a bad idea because keeping your mages alive is important, but as tempting as larping as Ind is the sacred troops don't really cut it. They are probably one of the better users of an archery-focused bless if you really wanna try though, though, since weapon blesses and the AP from crossbows get around the low strength problem and your mages don't mind a bit of extra precision.
>>567318591Thanks. How bout the recruitment scales? I assume you want some order to make a lot of bird knights to help out with their terrible map move? Maybe a bit lighter on the prod
>>567319783Bird knights really can't be relied on for much more than cheeky commander snipes on people who forget to leave a rear guard. They only really do damage on the initial charge, and after that their light lances bounce off anything wearing more than robes, and even strength buffs will only get them to about the damage of a regular spearman. Keep a few to mess up formations and threaten commander snipes, but they're not reliable as raiders on their own.
>>567321119Buffs are the main things that make the troops work- sharpness in particular actually makes the dense squares of toothpick-wielders actually somewhat threatening, especially if you throw strength on them too. The bird knights appreciate it as well but casting it on them before they take off is tricky.
>>567323404I miss markata and pygmy flaming rain
>>567323404Are the weapons buffs worth it?
>>567326848The blesses? Mostly no, but they have their use cases. Magic Weapons isn't really the same as the others, and is a solid bless- mistform and ethereal are issues you'll run into almost every game. Thunder weapons is by far the best of the actual weapon blesses in combat, but does fall off versus any shock resistance. Withering is cheap and shines on archers and cheap sacreds- it's bad at killing, but it'll make thugs and expensive stuff sad. Vampiric is extremely expensive but can be strong- the best use case I've seen is Man's wardens, they build up a bunch of extra HP with their crossbows before getting into melee. Poison weapons is actually pretty good on crossbows but is tough to fit into builds, and doesn't do anything if the weapon itself doesn't wound. As for the spells, Weapons of Sharpness is really good. AP is a huge increase in effective damage. The one that stuns is solid against non-giants but doesn't contribute quite as much to raw murderousness as sharpness, but it's still worth casting.
>>567330238To put it into perspective, even versus shitty militia making your weapon AP is usually equivalent to having 4-5 bonus strength, more if you're hitting the shield. Versus an 18 prot gigachad in plate, you're getting the equivalent of 9 strength. Even a thug geared up to 30 prot is still going to be getting chip damage from any decent melee weapon if it's AP.
>>567330238Tweps is gud
>>567330238I feel like Frost Mist Weapons has potential but suffers from making you take Cold in a game where most nations absolutely don't want to cripple their map move by taking Cold.
is there some weight limit on cloud trapeezing?i'm trying to trapeze my immobile statue pretender but it just keeps saying he's 'unable to cast this spell right now'
>>567334476Yes the blood rituals have a size/weight limit too. And some immobiles refuse to move even with teleport
>>567334092Yeah, it's absolutely the most viable of them. Even if you run into someone with a lightning res bless, it still works wonders for chewing through regular troops.Fire weapons would be decent if it did a bit more damage, but 7 AP really doesn't cut it most of the time. Vitriol is just too expensive.
>>567334476I think you specifically need limbs to be able to cloud trapeze. Only way to move an immobile is with teleport. Note that a few immobile pretenders cant even be moved by teleport like the Monument and the geyser
>>567334839>>567334567well that's great news, just tested stygian paths as well and he refuses to cast itwas worried my opponent might trapeze or stygian paths their pretender into a fort defense battle and proceed to sit there after casting wrathful skies, but looks like i've got nothing to worry about unless he secretly put s2 on it which according to the pretender designer should be impossible.

Does the arcane finesse bless provide bonus mr penetration to sacred units weapon attacks? For example withering weapons?
>>567316783They do have much better Baculites than Ind, they go from meme unit to anti sacred thug specialist. Better armor, more attacks, not limited to 3 a turn. And having recruit anywhere mages is always nice. They also have Holy 3 Inquisitors (and with Sloop they aren’t Slow to Recruit) making them very good against Lemuria or C’Tis
>>567382326It works for the sacred rlyeh units with mind blast but those have a specific line that says work with penetration bonus. I dont think it works for those however. Death weapons MAYBE because I'm pretty sure like mind blast death weapons do use your death skill like astral and therefore can benefit from penetration bonuses. Not sure how it interacts with damage reversal either.

>>567401264It's a flavour buff for MA at most. I mean its technically a buff in that they have 1 extra thing they can do, but that extra thing is summoning low prot undisciplined animals. When was the last time you used something like ambush of tigers or whatever?I haven't played EA machaka but the recruitable mounts seems pretty meh too. Decent high map move raiders I guess

>>567441834Thanks skelemans
>>567443464Yeah it says I can't find it ;_;7Good game everyone at least
>>567423116The chance to stun is 5% + (shock damage/max health)/2 ?So for a 10 health human, capped 1 shock damage has a total of 10% chance for the shock damage to stun. This is assuming that the shock damage wins the dueling DRNs, which it will like 46% of the time? So against an unbuffed target, it is slightly more likely to do nothing than to do anything. If it does do something it only deals chip damage and, optimistically, it has between 5% and 10% chance to stun for one round? For weapon bless for units vs other units, it is overpriced. Against eary unbuffed thugs and earlu supercombatents it could be useful against the unprepared.I fail to see how it is worth the points.
>>567444839Stun chance goes off uncapped 1AN + DRN damage roll, then the damage gets reduced afterwards.
>>567444529How do you usually quit the game after playing your turn? You might have accidentally clicked on "Abandon game" on autopilot.I've done it before too, so now I always exit by alt + F4 after sending in the turn.Big shame, that was a very tense situation. Hope to see you on the next game
>>567446642I dont think he did that because it would have immediately had the flag that he left the game and ask us. He staled twice which triggered the auto-afk detection thing
So last thread I said I was going to do a roster poll after all and then just forgot to actually do it. So here's the roster poll, only a few days before the deadline where I have to submit our team. I am a very smart and competent manager, after all.https://s.surveyplanet.com/umkv3bnpAlso, do you have any opinions on whether you'd rather see the team on full autopilot or would you rather see me try and build something based off of the Luigi Circuit team from February and run it off of pastebin instructions?

>>567478210Pretty sure you can GoR anything not mindless
I still really like expander gods for the huge edge they give you early game. Getting a good economy going before turn 20 is just such a difference maker. I'm a big fan of the Man-Eater, with Hard Skin and Blood Surge. He travels far, can handle most indies just fine, even in late age, and lets me break into blood really quickly since he's such a good hunter.

I should have started gunning for Ulm's thrones earlier, maybe could have grabbed them to steal the win. Also, Pyrene, if you're still in the thread, did you Horror Seed me? Horrors started popping up in my cap before the cataclysm started, and I'm not quite sure where from.
>>567499768Why is he the reason you won? Was he funneling you resources once he decided he couldn't get off his island?
>>567499768>Join for underwater knife fight with Ys>Design pretender to kill movarchs>Spawn in separate pondsThe shit mapgen is becoming an epidemic
>>567500034He was disruptive for everyone else and even took a throne off you. Him keeping the Astral Corruption up probably contributed to Ulm going AI and becoming less of a threat to me.
>>567500375Yeah, the Astral Corruption was very annoying, but also very funny. Wonder how many blood slaves he was getting to put that up over and over.On a side note how do you deal with Storm + Wrathful Skies? I tried to put lightning resistance warriors but the +5 resistance didn't seem to do much. If not for that demolishing my armies over and over in our initial war I would have probably taken the fight to Pyrene's island. As it was, I didn't want to face that meatgrinder so once he was bottled up on his island I went elsewhere.
>>567501026Lightning resist + mass regeneration/luck.If you can't do that you need to try and end the battle fast
>>567501026You dont. You can try some damage reversal shenanigans but generally if you dont have blood vengeance or shock resist on your mages/troops innately or with items accept everything is going to die. You either stop it from being cast with something that interrupts it via earth quake or youre fucked
