I have concerns about the lack of starting factions for 40k. Space Marines and Imperial Guard are likely going to be natural allies because they both fight greenskins nonstop. Riding elephants is (likely, although we know they had them since they gave them as tribute) not historically accurate but it is based on the Romance of the 3K which is why a blatantly ahistorical character like Zhurong is even there. Local nanman units should resist miasma, I'll give you that, but the mechanic itself is fine, as is getting ambushed constantly. That's jungle warfare for people who aren't used to it in a nutshell. I think Bhashiva does enough differently. The need to go west differentiates the campaign from the other Cathayans. Whereas Miao and Zhao face Delves, Skaven and Chaos, Bhashiva will mostly be fighting Greenskins, Ogres and Chorfs which is a nice change of pace.
