Her existence is neutered in his presence because she has too much going on that could overshadow his whole deal. Sonic Rush Adventure happened after 06 and nothing about that game attempted to incorporate Silver into it. Nothing in their past 20 year history makes Silver relevant to any of her lore. Blaze is also no longer relevant to his lore because while she did help him in his timeline briefly, that was canonically erased. As of now, she has nothing to do with him either. Their current relationship only exists because of them meeting in Sonic fucking Colors on the DS

Okay, but real talk for a minute. All the memes, shipping, and seething aside. What is the point of Silver? The entire premise of his character is that he is a time traveler. He has come back to the past to prevent a terrible future. He has a set goal, but with vague objectives. As long as he is here in the present, he is ostensibly looking for clues on how to save the future, yes? That's kind of... it? That's his thing. They can't just let him solve the problem because then he fucks off back to his time. Otherwise you have to keep coming up with new end times threats that have to be prevented, at which point it becomes a farce. Frankly, Silver should've left the comic after Metal Virus. That was a perfectly good ending for him in IDW.

Tails has Sonic's capability, Amy has Sonic's confidence, so Amy's challenge is proving herself capable on her own. Blaze, of course, is extremely capable on her own, but she also has Tails' insecurities as well which is masked behind the 'strict discipline'. It's like, from a certain perspective, Amy as a girl is held to the standard of / rebelling against the image of "Blaze", so "Amy" is who "Blaze" could end up looking down on as "immature" in some way (like with Marine) and that she'd have to reel in or watch over.

Being his own person would have to be doing his OWN thing rather than just racing against Sonic or going mech-to-mech with Eggman. Regardless, that's not what SA1 was doing in the first place. Tails vs Eggman has nothing to do with being "rivals" in a mech sense, it's about Tails proving that he can be the hero without Sonic, it's fighting Sonic's main villain and saving the city without Sonic around. The mech stuff in SA2 is just having Tails copy Eggman's gameplay style, and it doesn't suit his character at all. Maybe as like a side thing, but not as his primary. Tails at his core is supposed to be able to do what Sonic does, and -fly- with his tails to move at supersonic speeds.

Because being like Robin is why Tails was created. Being the "kid" character for the younger audience to project onto and relate to. As a protege / apprentice of sorts that follows the lead character around, fights alongside him, and can do exactly what the lead character does plus some unique skills of his own. Tails is functionally 'Sonic's Robin'. And just like Robin, the development comes from when he's given his own stories outside of just playing the sidekick, and those stories inherently inevitably ultimately become the Gurren Lagann narrative. Because when you're the "kid" whose in the shadow of the great hero you look up to and follow, that is what your story ultimately is. That is what TAILS' story is. That is why his theme song is "Believe in Myself". That is why Tails has to "become his own person" as you yourself admitted. That lesson, "don't just copy him, be your own man", is part of the archetype as well. it's one of THE main lessons within the archetypal story. Robin & Kid Flash both had to learn that same lesson just as Simon and Deku have as well as Miles Morales. Kid Flash and Miles "became" the next Flash and Spider-Man, Robin chose to be Nightwing rather than be Batman, but they all learned the same lesson Simon did when Kamina died. They are not their mentors. They are themselves. They're going their OWN way.

SA2 built off of SA1's development for Tails where he gains independence as his own person instead of following Sonic around all the time and being the P2. He was set up as a mechanical genius to rival Eggman, but the good version instead of being evil. Now this may surprise you, but that's kind of how all of the character-match rivalries are set up in SA2. Hero and Dark variants of the same concept. Sonic saving the world. Shadow trying to destroy it. Tails building machines to help. Eggman building machines for evil. Knuckles collecting the Master Emerald pieces for the greater good. Rouge doing it for personal gain. SA2 Tails makes perfect sense in the context of SA1 and SA1's Tails stages are just copies of Sonic's. Most of them forcing him to be there with Sonic anyway. He may as well not even have a story except the last boss.
