That lesson, "don't just copy him, be your own man", is part of the archetype as well. it's one of THE main lessons within the archetypal story.Robin & Kid Flash both had to learn that same lesson just as Simon and Deku have as well as Miles Morales. Kid Flash and Miles "became" the next Flash and Spider-Man, Robin chose to be Nightwing rather than be Batman, but they all learned the same lesson Simon did when Kamina died.They are not their mentors. They are themselves. They're going their OWN way.

>>570594527>If Tails is Simon then why complain about him having mech gameplay?The equivalent of the mech is the Tornado, which has been part of Tails' character since forever, the Tornado is Sonic's Gurren and Tails' Lagann, the Tornado II is essentially Gurren Lagann as a whole and its evolutions. BUT, Sonic as a series is not a "Mecha" series, It has elements of it because Eggman exists, but SONIC is a Speedster. Tails is the "Sidekick" to SONIC, thus he is a SPEEDSTER as well. Tails is the "Robin" to Sonic, which means his core skill-set is basically a hybrid of being Robin and being Kid Flash, but with flying as well. My problem with the mech gameplay for Tails in SA2 is not the Cyclone itself existing as a thing Tails has, because on-paper it's an evolution of the Tornado / Sky Chase concept. The problem is that "a second Sonic" is outright replaced by "a second Eggman" as the gameplay basis for Tails, it's completely divorced from Tails' core gameplay and his natural abilities. One thing I loved about Gurren Lagann is the fact that Simon and the others are not -reliant- on the mechs. Simon can still fight without it. He can use his Drill with his own hands, and he can even form a drill of pure spiral power or his blood or whatever. The very last battle was a fistfight between Simon and the Antispiral.SA2!Tails makes it seem like he's reliant on the mech, and Sonic X doubled down on that. I've mentioned before earlier today that my personal interpretation of how I'd construct Tails' personality is "Edd / Double D on the outside, Numbuh 4 (KND) on the inside", and the logic behind it is that Numbuh 4 is the "combat expert" of the kids next door whose defined by courage even though he was the smallest one, and that specific quality is what I think is core to Tails' character since the very beginning of Sonic 2. He rivals both Sonic & Eggman in speed and brains. Ideally, he should -do both- and MORE.

The end result of the takarazuka bullshit is that they end up in their traditional gender roles by the end. Having shed their childish selves, they'll grow up into functional mature adults that act the way they should and becoming more wise in their roles. Blaze acting more princely is a way to guard her insecurities and seem more mature. She dotes and guides the childish feminine male in this masculine role and through this Silver is guided by her until he realizes he needs to be more independent and Blaze's sacrifice is the line drawn where he sheds his childish side to become stronger, more reliable man. And when they meet again, Blaze will not need to feel like she needs to keep her guard up around him and shed the masculine shield she put up. At least, that's how it will go if they want to complete the bullshit they started
