>>575197228>I see you're getting ready for your gay pirate cosplay...no?But yeah, I'm a bit worried because from the way you phrase it, you can have five similar dragoon units that behave and fight differently.
HAK HAK HAK
Devman has added mechs in Machinfall.Gotta keep play it but between Thea 2 and Grim Dawn I'm kinda busy atm.
>>575198145I'm sure you'll look fetching. Don't forget while *looking* differently too, and you get to decide how. Not unlike how it was in the good old days. And there's doctrinal or sub army flavors too. I'm just starting to get into the game myself but so far it's quite nice just how much the roguelike or deckbuilding if you want to call it that part of it works with the theme. So we're clear, you can't strap a cannon on a horse and call it a dragoon but you can tailor them towards rapid flankers, anti cavalry or cycle chargers.
>>575146743for me its the one where the planet turns into a fountain of dark matter
>>575199348>And there's doctrinal or sub army flavors tooYeah, I understand why Tabletop Tavern didn't appeal to you. Funnily, its simplicty is what attracted me to it: simple, fast battles. What you propose is... utter insanity. But go ahead, detail me your army, unit by unit. I'll read it carefully, I got popcorn ready.
>>575203391You've overthinking it. And nothing especially fancy so far but I am working towards equipping all my first brigade with grenadiers that can entrench since the game is currently giving me shovels, cover benefits and a suspiciously large number of british muskets and tea rations. Round everything up with some skirmishers and hussars in brigade 2 an 3, anchored and wobbling around my brick. Jaegers bait, hussars charge in and mop up.And I'm not looking to shit on tt. Just feel like I've seen everything it has to offer in the first two hours.
Who is your favorite shroud patron?Instrument and cradle are my personal favs, if I form a covenant it’s with one of them 95% of the time
>>575206616>And I'm not looking to shit on tt. Just feel like I've seen everything it has to offer in the first two hours.I mean, that's the appeal. Easy to learn. But I do feel like your game is more of a scavenger warlord simulator, where you have to make due with whatever you can scrounge.
>>575198282HYUK HYUK HYUK
>>575211136>scavenger warlord simulator, where you have to make due with whatever you can scroungeYes, that doesn't sound like tt at all.
>>575218720I mean, in TT, you are isolated and have to make do with what you are, but you make it sound like you're genuinely desperate for anything at all in your game.
>>575219052What I'm desperate is to get my hands on the fuck that keeps inserting veteran french field artillery into austrian infantry. Like to make vienna sausage from him if he likes them that much.
>>575219443...lol. Have fun lmao. Also for the record? I don't bet on you. You're outnumbered and outgunned. Also what's pic related? The three to the right are cannons, but I can't see what this is, I only see a wheel. Is it a howitzer or just a mortar?
>>575219817The barrel just pokes behind the guys shoulder there
>>57521981716 iron howitzer, which was a lot of fun. And my jaegers have shotguns so eat it spider. Thankfully they have another group around the corner.
>>575221178You want me to eat your shotgun? Sounds gay ngl.
>>575221331Come to think of it eating lead shot would be preferable to pickled herring.
>>575221727I'd have to be starving to eat fish.
>>575221879Tell that story to someone not seeing swedes and french stroking their barrels behind every other tree.
>>575222293What, hungry to get your lips on some French barrel?Too bad for you, I have a boyfriend.
>>575222580Good for you. Tell him to keep the fuck away from Tornow since canister shot doesn't grow on trees and I'm not made out of ammo.
>>575222580you have a boyfriend!?
>>575222580Spider, your dildo is not your boyfriend. And your fleshlight is not your girlfriend either.

>thinking about resubbing to StellarisTalk me out of it.
>>575240612Why pay $10 for a month sub when you could pay $0 to acquire the DLC by other means
>>575240701I dont care to pirate and deal with possibly outdated mods and shit.
>>575240787>he doesn't know
>>575245924i know, cream shit bla bla bla.I honestly dont care that much and id rather pay those pennies.
>>575246146Then play something else.>>575223881Kinda. It's "parasocial", I think it's called? Long-distance relationship.
>>575240612I do that once a a year personally, play for a month and then bin the game till next year again. Works pretty good, I burn off the urge to play in that one month almost always but get a good handful of games in during that time.>>575246349Parasocial is when the other guy doesn't know you. Like if you claim to be in a relationship with Beyonce or some Vtuber you are in a parasocial relationship. Long distance is when the other person also agrees that they are in a relationship with you but you are not physically in the same location.
>>575246752Yeah i do it too.Sub, clock like 100hrs, get bored, drop it, rinse repeat..
>>575246752Ha, my bad then. I thought parasocial meant that people never met IRL. Then no, it's just long-distance then. It'd be fucked if it was parasocial.Sorry, English is hard.
>>575246862Ye it works, I get the craving and then just play a bunch and then it's gone and I don't look back. I got enough other games I swap between that I don't want to stick around with just Stellaris all the time so usually one month from a year is just about the max I want to dedicate to it, typically in the winter I don't know if it has anything to do with being able to see the stars but I'm betting it's that.
>spidey finally found someone to send nudes toaww...
>>575247387>finally?
>>575247346I wish there was some other space 4x that scales like Stellaris.
Why is it that I love playing as hive minds but find gestalt machines boring?
>>575253840because killing robots isnt as cool as killing living beings
>>575254480I also like hives more than robots for this reason, there's something more real about organics.
>>575254541The only time I've enjoyed fighting robots was early stellaris with my friend and one of us researched the dangerous AI tech and plunged the world into a massive robot rebellion kek
>>575254651Robots are fine in a proper robot disaster imo, it's just more boring empire archetype.
for some unfathomable reason, I bought a smirnoff ice
Is it just me or are astral rifts a bit broken for nomads? Sometimes the options are autopicked or maybe picked by landed host AI empire. Still gives the rewards correctly though.
>>575230295Psionics used to be my favourite and probably still is with the new shit added. But I rarely get to that point before restarting nowadays. There's a lot more interesting stuff in general the diplomacy and espionage is so cool

>>575269573Is the update out yet?
>>575273415No.
Alright gladius is pretty good. Managed to win my first try despite the guardsmen and invasion all attacking me at once. I killed like 20 aircraft along with 40+ infantry and 20 tanks. The brass scorpion carried me, once I got it to level 10 it just deleted every single ground unit. Honestly no clue how anyone could kill that unit because the warp mechanics can heal ~20 per turn as well.
>>575216298fuckin kek
>>575281683Are grenades good?
>>575301143Only as buttplugs.
>>575301261Too big for my butt.
>>575269573Always here
>>575301143I feel like grenades might be good for the vehicle ones where your infantry cant penetrate their armor, but the frag grenades seems worthless. Never unlocked melta charge but that one has to be great against the ultra big units.
>>575301345I'm sure we'll figure something out.
>>575301651I still very confused because I remember grenades being better than normal shooting. At least in early game.>>575301807"We"?
>>575301651Yeah.>>575301994Stop salivating.
>>575301994Well Chaos is a weird faction. They dont have shitty troops with grenades, they want to level up and gain boons. Their cheap melee infantry can genuinely kill elites if they get first attack, they're just squishy. No need for elites. And the warp claws can kill elites as well with a jump pack blind for defense. If I were the guards I think that grenades might be fine with cheap infantry but chaos doesnt work that way.
>>575302612I hate Chaos.
>>575302702That just makes them stronger, probably
>>575303726They still aren't as bad as Warhammer Fantasy's beastmen, but they're still parasites on the face of reality.
>>575303919I played beastmen in that game too

>>575350001Unironically should've went black instead. The summons on him trivialize everything.
>>575352576Yeah, but the breath attack is just way too fun. Game could be fun if the controls weren't so atrocious, I had to revamp everything, and it still barely works.
>>575352993He also has breath attack, acid. The red only has volcano and meteor going for him (without the mana to spam it) but it's been ages so I might be misremembering it a bit.
>>575353448The red is meant to be the physical one, so he get an unique homing missile, but honestly, the range is bad and the damage is miserable, so I rarely use it.>acid-breathing dragonYeah I'd panic too, that sounds like a bitch to fight.
>in settings choose the scourge as the crisis because I wanted some hive mind vs hive mind action>take defenders of the galaxy ambition>do special project to summon scourge a little early and beat them>the defenders of the galaxy situation wants me to summon a second crisis before I can “complete” the event chain>doing the special project a second time doesn’t summon another crisis>game is probably bugged and trying to summon scourge a second time because of the galaxy settings but won’t do it>use cheats to start extra dimensional invaders>beating them doesn’t count for the event chainOh stellaris I love you so much sometimes

>>575405935A dedicated GoT RTS sounds like a waste of money desu since it's such a generic fantasy world from a battle perspective and doesn't have the unit and faction autism that Warhammer or LotR have. It'd be much better as a mod for another game

Goddamn, even the terrain generation favors the britbongs.
There is something funny where the unquestionably best "cavalry" you have in your roster is a man in a skirt. I miss my deathheads.
Spider, you ok? I hear you guys got fire tornadoes now.
>>575341082Actually game runs fine, turns out with all the mods i have i need to fully restart the game if i want to start new run
Tried Stellaris 4.4.6 with some mods (Planetary Diversity, Shrouded Regions) and it seems pretty stable with 19 AI civs and 1000 stars. Guess ES2 quantities of spaceships are gonna be the norm now.Vanilla UI has the situations organized within dropdowns, finally. Also commodore AI seems much weaker than 4.2's.
>>575325805I've noticed this with the curator locating leviathans for you. It's stuck at the first three purchases and doesn't add any more after. If the Defender of the Galaxy one bugs for me too then im dropping version after giving khan nomads a whirl
>>575451914Something is wrong with the AI and I can't pinpoint exactly what. When observing, their planets and fleets seem fine enough, without any glaring mistakes or outright bugs, but overall Admiral AI somehow lags behind a player that merely avoids death spirals and resource waste on a suboptimal roleplay build.Maybe they are stuck in decision paralisys, or maybe they overuse trade and end up deleting significant part of their income, idk.Or maybe everyone constantly being in multiple wars takes too big toll on their economy while player knows to just turtle at chokepoints without pointless ship losses. Though I've noticed AI turtling more often than before too.
So Stellaris nomad gameplay is basically the same just with the moveable "planets" ??I cant seem to envision any other way to play this in a game all about taking over systems and shit..
>good units don't have t3+>actual french units only start being good t3+>kraut auxilia are beyond awfulAlright, wish me luck. At least they're somewhat better than russians.
>>575460538As usual, French are based beyond belief.
>>575465450Their heavy cavalry is pretty good honestly. I'd just wish their infantry wasn't all about irish or swiss.
>>575466094What's wrong with Irish?
>>575466375They're not scots. Those have all-round better stats and one more tier, and that shit matters. When you "prestige" them they're like armored swiss pikes from medieval 1. Can counter charge cav and keep on plowing thru them to the next unit while breaking both and not slowing down.
>>575467102You phrase that very weirdly, but I think I get what you mean. That the Irish are NOT like these armored swiss pikes from that game I never played.
>>575467684You really should give m1 a try then since seeing those in action is an experience. They just don't have an upgrade path to keep them relevant past chapter 1-2 and will get mowed down by troops that have. It's like building with common or rare troops in tt and then you face a purple stack with 5 signature units. You go from dominating first and second area to getting your teeth kicked in the third. Clear enough?
>>575468779Can't. Too busy raging at these little shits.>barge in>heal all enemies in range>cast fast, homing missile with extreme range that outrange everything I got and locks in on me>when it hits me, takes away 95% of my speed>also fast as fuck, able to outrun even my flames>take cover behind trees so can't carpet bombSo annoying.
THESE FUCKERS>>575468779>They just don't have an upgrade path to keep them relevant past chapter 1-2 and will get mowed down by troops that have. >>575500378Master of Command. Do you enjoy the idea of tw battles vaguely set in the 7 years war setting, with ai that's not amazing but (usually) not braindead either? There's an overland map with a time limit until you have to beat the boss army of the act of which there are several depending on the picked difficulty. The battles are fought with regiments organized into up to 5 brigades you outfit and customize yourself with rogue-lite perks or "doctrines", officers which have their own skills and gear you find, loot, buy or capture. Meta progression is you unlock a new subfaction (for example hessians for british or freikorps for prussians who have their different quirks and units) and no "you start with extra cash" or "now your troops get +x to stat" that I've seen so far.Was worth a pirate for me. Very easy to pickup if you're familiar with how TW plays and there's just enough wiggleroom between factions and how you organize your troops with what you got to keep it interesting, so far.
>>575505140Fuck is the Seven War settings? Sharpe's Rifles?
>>575505287This is about 40 years earlier.
>>575453986>really like nomads>their ships make winning wars even easier than before because you dont have attrition with your big capital shipaieeeeeeee
Is Endless Legend 2 good yet?
>>575516598Probably at the very least better than Civ 7, not that that's a high bar.
zephon>>575281683good job anon. i know jack shit about chaos>>575301143yes gernades are good in gladius and zephon. If you have frag gernades ( or plasmas I play eldar) and the enemy does not you will win infantry vs infantry. They are also pivotal for creeping which is deadly in both games but can be especially annoying in gladius due to less enemy diversity. Its a shit load of kroot hounds at all times and hounds are fast and have infiltrate ( ignore overwatch attacks) so if they escape they will jump scare you later in the game. >>575369627Gladius is a good entry level game for this genre. Races are very unique and while trying to accomplish their gimmick you will learn how systems and subsystems work. Once you get comfortable with Gladius you can graduate to Zephon which has more features from a main line civ game - like road building and diplomacy. The quest/ending scenario system are significantly improved in zephon as well - most people turn quests off in gladius
I tried civ 5 for the first time and wtf is this shit? > 2-3 NPCs declare war on me around the same time> I put all my money and production into military so I can fight back> I take a few strategic cities> Entire world calls me a warmonger and evil and denounce me> My own population is now unhappy and reduces productionOr when I have to pay double and triple what the other NPC is offering to get a deal, even tho this NPC is friendly Which fucking retard programmed this shit? You get punished for everything.
>>575529753yeah
>>575529753sounds about right
>>575529753civ is for retards now unfortunately
>>575527560Idk man all these zephon factions look way worse than 40k. I can't enjoy a game if the factions aren't cool.
>>575538956while different units are certainly less numerous, in part because zephon isn't funded my james workshop and doesn't need to help sell plastic, the units themselves are better imoalso you can 'cross-tree' and build eldrich dudes and robot dudes while playing a human faction, and the same for the other two factions which is more interesting than the fixed pool of the gladius factions imo
>>575538956What, you don't like a generic clusterfuck as a setting? Rude.
>>575538956zephon is not so much about factions as it is about leaders. And yeah they are understated compared to gladius factions, they do a bit less. The upside of this is that when you are creeping the map you randomly get alot of units. You can be playing the zerg/nid type faction ( I hate that psykers are all hideous in this game) and end up with a hover bus , or capture a raider outpost and use the raiders to hack Furoisa's battle busesalso at tier 8/tier 9 humans get to build tactical marines and assault marines.
>>575529753Do you prefer CIV4 deathballing?
>>5755297535 is a tall game because retarded global happiness and warmonger diplo penalties
>>575529753>somehow I'M the bad guy
>>575529753you are probably trying to buy their last copy of something in which case they dont want to sell it>a few startegic citieswhat you did is actually the correct way to game the system by waiting for the ai to declare war on you so you can take the cities without big warmonger penalties so i doubt that is what happenedthe ai should trade luxuries 1 to 1 if you are friendly with them and are asking for somerthing they have more than 1 of
>>575529753>> Entire world calls me a warmonger and evil and denounce meThis is a common complaint about civ5 in particular and it's just the way the game works. If you take cities then people will hate you, this is not antisemitic. Now you can either accept that as the thing that it is and deal with the hate by more military or simply restrain yourself from taking too much even if you yourself feel like it's "fair". Now speaking purely out of mechanics taking cities is often just not all that good of an idea in civ5, and you probably shouldn't take all that many unless you are willing to commit to that playstyle. You actually want to stay fairly limited in amount of cities you control for the exact reason you found out (unhappines gives sweeping penalties and stacks quickly with extra cities and pops) among other things. A good idea is to pack the map with more civs than you think especially if you like to actually war a bit, that way you can get more cities by conquest and less trough founding them yourself and still stay below what you might consider excess city count.>You get punished for everything. You can pretty clearly see why they made it like that if you play civ4, they wanted a more "challenging/realistic/gritty" how ever you want to word it experience since civ4 was what you may consider very "everything in excess" type of game. Some consider it the best in the series for that others don't like it all that much because of it.
>>575529753>You get punished for everything.Oh no, don't spank me for playing the game, civ5-chan~
>>575527560Your best units are vehicles and demon walkers unless you stack blessings on marked infantry then they're pretty scary. Very weak on and against air but can develop new cities and boom like crazy with city rituals. Strong heroes.>gernades are good in gladiusThe haywire ones are since they ignore armor and can attack air. Ork ones are also alright since they have double the attacks compared to regular ones and can pen some armor so you're getting better kracks that have blast earlier. The rest are waste of research 9 times out of 10.
New faction look lite.
>>575555515I don't play chaos. i pretty much only play eldar. I am very fond of my plasma gernades. i think the best strat is to spam gaurdians, rush autarch level 6. Its risky but if u have a bad early game all your gates get destroyed anyway. Playing with mechs is really fun - the scorpian superheavy tank is one of my favorite units in tabletop 40k and I'm shocked and pleased it is in this game- but i can usually end the whole map just by buying the avatar. Items are incredibly powerful in Gladius - less so in zephon when they need to be researched - though this discourages stacking the same items every time and you get way more from loot both games have the same problem of units needing to be researched so the tech tree incentives you to spam one kind of unit. Warcraft 3 got this right where you would unlock a new building and it would offer you a choice of 2-3 units to build at said building before research. This problem is still huge in gladius though it is slightly less huge due to a smaller tech tree. counterplay exists but implimenting it is costly and nigh unrealistic. apparently the most recent zephon patch made it so that a building can complete multiple items in one turn if you have enough cogs. Pretty massive change - too bad it does not apply to research.
>>575560150Looks like my Soulmask's bonefire shed.>>575560603>i pretty much only play eldarShow bulge.
>>5755611519 inches of Sicilian cockmeat
>>575561151And looks like what I tried to build in Enshrouded.
>>575560603Not a massive fan of eldar in this. I want my dire avengers, swooping hawks and striking scorpions goddamn it. If I want mecha action I'll play the designated orange weeaboo faction. Cumragfags are interesting but I almost always get too ambitious with them and end up beaten like a dog. But really fun when you open up a raiding webway behind him and delete half his cities before he realizes what's up tho.>plasma nadesSure, but those have both blast and base armor pen 2. And even then... vaul's wraiths is only tier 2 and it's not like shuriken cats don't straight up delete most soft blobs either.
>>575564779i want shining spears to not suck. its been awhile IIRC you get a max squad size of 3 in this game? I'm used to fielding huge blobs of 10 of themi found success with howling banshees and gladius , after kill team 1 has converted me to being an autarch appreciatori fucking love warlocks in gladius now that is a juicy unit now if only they will let me commit warcrimes against the action economy with soulburst like bighammer used to. Gladius still respects soulburst more than games workshop does.
>>575565470>3To be fair they are better sentinels in this.
>hmm maybe I should try gladius>all the factions I'm interested in are DLC
>>575571680Welcome to Games Workshop licensed games. I'm dead sure all Warhammer games are like this.>Mark of Chaos>Dwarfs are mercs only with half an army, vampire counts aren't playable>man o war corsair>despite the game being half finished and very janky, there's still a DLC for it>Total Warhammer>...lol
>>575571680You'd be silly not to pirate. They have dlc factions with multiple supplemental dlcs by this point.
>>575571680Recreate the 40k universe in Aurora the way Steve intended
>>575578916No, 40k sucks ass.
Gotta give it to the french - they know how to fuck (up) horses with the best of them.
>>575584453>Gotta give it to the french - they know how to fuckIf only, hahahahaha...
>>575584853they definitely do, but losers like us exist everywhere
>>575584853Do you even own a chevaux de frise?
>>575586324What the fuck would I do with a cheval de frise? No, I never did, and I'll never do, unless I get Isekai'd to a world that never progressed beyond pike & shoot era.
>>575586516See, that's your problem there. And not a cheval. Chevaux. Plural. Bitches love fortifications.
>>575587526Closest thing I did was building barricades in ARK. Does that count?
>>575587680Clearly not. I'm telling you man, you need to entrench your shit. Look at this goofy motherfucker. Guy had more chins than his line had tourelles, but, happily married with kids.
Thanks nuffle. I really need to roll industrious 8 out of 11 times when rolling my cavalryguy.
>>575589589Man that doesn't look good for cavalry at all.
>>575589756Too late to pivot into dragoons unfortunately.
is this series good?
>>three shots a minuteEat your heart out, Sean Bean. ...now if only their accuracy was actually good.
>>575586516Would burn down in wildfires anyway...
>>575593792You try being accurate firing a musket every 20 seconds.
>>575571680all the DLC is included in the fitgirl repack, same with zephonthe devs anayalze your data even if you pirate the game to balance the game. We've had two balance patches in zephon since the last DLC dropped and its not just to address meta/glitches they are still tinkering with shit. An example of a recent change was immoblized flying units can be melee'd one of the things that really impressed me when i first played gladius was how much of my tabletop knowledge transfered over - the math is really god damn similar minus the dice. made it the easiest 4x i ever picked up despite not building my cities right for the first few games
>>57559973011.1 seconds. Fair.
>>575599730I would simply invent the rifle
>>575608112They had those already...
>>575610438Then I would use a rifle instead of a musket
>>575610630Rifles were also muzzle-loading.
>>575611959Howitzers were bear-loading.
>>575612407Wojtek bros we won
>>575612983One of their groups even starts with it.
>>575571680I pirated it, was fun for like 1 playthrough if I play it more maybe ill buy it
>>575197978>buy civ 7 complete bundle after delaying a year and a half from touching it>new game>look through leader list>exit out the game>uninstall>refund the bundleJesus Christ, I knew it was bad but not this bad. Can't image what the rest of the game is like but this was enough to filter me
>>575626098I just can't pull the trigger on this game. The bundle was 60% off and was still close to $100 ausbucks
>>575626098what's wrong? woke designs?
>>575628409That's part of it, but really the bigger issue is that the majority of them are not actually leaders at all. The list is very limited, even with all the expansions and when Ada Lovelace and Harriet Tubman take up the limited slot, it kills any immersion for this game.
>>575632584One real life person who leads a changing civilization is hard to suspend disbelief, unironically I think Humankind did it better with the custom fictional leader, plus you don't have to deal with shit like muh stronk black women of history since the player can make whoever they want. The best option would have been custom leader and custom civilization so you don't have to deal with shit like Romans turning into Chinese turning into Mexicans and instead get some bonuses from the environment and past experiences and others from player choice like aesthetics, but that kind of procedural generation is harder to sell than "Turn the Romans into the Franks into the French! Just like in history!"

>>575644246Can't bump, busy watching world of darkness.I hope Bilgewell get ran over by an entire battalion of hooligans.
Found Armor Clash 3.Oddly enough, it's not early access. It feels like it though.
>>575636164>I think Humankind did it betterBasically sums up the entirity of Civ VII. It's insane how a smaller dev tram caused Firaxis to knee jerk so hard and copy their game, but somehow fuck it all up despite seeing all the negative feedback Amplitude got for the ways they failed. It's like a straight-A student suddenly deciding to cheat off the kid next to them just because they scored pretty well on previous exam, but filling in all the bubbles one line off. Utterly baffling.
>>575584853Spider, did you blow it with your prospective e-boyfriend ALREADY?
>>575661075Mmm?
so funny
good morning bump
penis
I think we should sacrifice spiderfag to revive the RTS genre
>>575687451My sacrifice would be worthless. You need to sacrifice something that has value.
>>575687550But you're valuable to me :(
