The rank reset is completely fake. I was asc 5 before the reset and every calibration match I match with people who were also asc 4-6. Same with the one standard match I played. I'm guessing that there is a hidden elo that is is now more opaque and the rank you are shown is entirely cosmetic. Pre-update it took exactly 3 games to rank up so you could track your real elo pretty accurately. Now, you could have a pre-update eternus and pre-update archon both showing oracle. However, this isn't actually an issue for matchmaking as, again, the displayed rank is entirely cosmetic. I'm curious how and when rank and elo will actually be correlated.
