I'm going to AFK two characters for the 20 hours.Ravencraft seems fine. The latency is about what I'm getting on Octowow and what I got on Turtle. There don't seem to be a lot of players. Maybe it will grow. Octowow had a similar rough start where people rightfully shat on it for its first couple months for being a mess, but after they fixed it up some, people turned around.The issue is that most English speaking players have already settled on Octowow and do not want to start all over again. Even if Ravencraft is a less buggy server than Octowow, people will stay on Octowow because it's playable.I think the only way you'll see people move from Octowow to Ravencraft is if one of two things happens.1. Octowow shits the bed again. This may happen since they're migrating servers in a couple weeks allegedly, which may cause issues.2. Ravencraft puts out some amazing custom content of its own. A new zone, a new dungeon, something to show that they are the devs they claim to be. If they dropped two new playable races they'd be back to 10k overnight.

The expanded quest log has broken the game's ability to accurately track quests causing a lot of bugs for players.I want a Turtle Wow experience and that means a server that works and not "hey let's add this slop that'll break ten other things in the game because we don't know what we're doing."

I like Octo's version and changes. The bugs haven't been significant but still unwelcome. Their "promise" to try and keep the game alive after litigation outweighs any minor annoyances I've experienced so far. There's never a guarantee that any server ever stays up but a plan is better then nothing and their version is actively being updated pretty much daily.Maybe the server will be in the same or worse state a month from now but frankly there's ZERO reason to bother with Ravencraft in its current state. Especially when their has already been literal direct links to Turtle WoW. They're so sloppy in getting the server up that it's a sizeable red flag.

It's people who worked on the project not wanting their work to go to waste knowing that people want to play it again. It's due to multiple factors, but the biggest is that the community leaders, guild masters, RP GMs, and so on, won't touch anything related to Turtle with a ten foot pole. A lot of them were directly involved, or had friends involved, in the lawsuit, and they don't want to take any risks. Any discussion about those servers is forbidden in discord for example. As for the other reason, it's simply that Octo is not an RP server, it never was. They didn't tag their realms as RP, unlike Turtle. They don't promote RP content, they don't have any RP GMs to help make events, and they don't try to foster any RP community.

Even most roleplayers have probably roleplayed with quite a few members of the Turtle staff, the server was an RP server before becoming popular, and almost all the staff were roleplayers.As for active RP servers, well, the scene is kind of dead. Faebright is still the best, right now. Maybe Raven might attract some roleplayers as they seem to respect the original vision of Turtle to be RP first. Their realms are tagged as RP, and it seems like they do want to get RP GMs.
