>>579202830I bet you loved it.
Damn AoM so fun, but the AI is surprisingly tough.
>>579209321Easy AI bullying you again?
>>579213915It never passes ages before you do, but once it reaches the second age, it produces units nonstop.
>>579214372What are we talking here, what gods/nations?
>>579215295Any. The easy in AoM just follow your pace and never will advance to the next age before you, but somehow, the second I move on, it outproduces me and I'm confused as to why.
>>579216219If I had to take a guess because you're not thinking about god/nations counters and as such are trading like shit. AI apparently has a better handle on its macro so it can replace losses faster making it tougher for you. Anchoring with norse and farming him for favor, laughing behind greek turtle etc.
>>579216649I mostly play Aztecs and Japanese, so I'm meant to be quite offensive. So I do call it a clanker often and propose to fuck his sister, but otherwise, yeah. Whenever I try anything that isn't spamming low tier units, I lose right away.
>>579218872There's your problem then. Stop bleeding resources in bad trades and stop and read what your units actually do. If you see he's hades chances are you need anti range, if you see he's egyptian chances are his meat will be myth units etc.
>>579219284So focus on anti-infantry then. That means make samurais.
>>579219537Yeah, but don't like mouthbreathe only samurais. Myth units usually mulch human infantry but hey, there's hersiers and priests mixed in, maybe archers would be preferable. Oh, it's a blob. OH, it's a chinese blob, alright, hope you have enough bank to make artillery. Be flexible, you know. And don't leave most of the neutral city centres to his control while tying down most of your available supply in peasants and then wonder why your army isn't steamrolling.
>>579220382I mean, I tried to go for archers and samurais, but because the game spawned two relics in a dead end only accessible to the AI, I ended up rushing too early with the firewhell guys and archers, and I was very surprised to see that the AI had an army double my own despite having just lost a previous skirmish. Is it just fast to train units in AoM and I never realized or what?
>>579198852that's a lot
>>579222121Some do. Say, do you have anything resembling a build or an opener or do you just build one of everything and see how it goes?
>>579114070HEI HEI, HEI HEI
Good morning /civ4xg/. It's 2am, raining and i just booted Shadow Empire, life's good.
goddamn I've been playing civ 5 for like 3 hours
>>579248467That's it? Just 3 hours?
>>579248467There's a setting to show a clock in-game, so even in full screen you can watch the hours bleed away.
>>579230640Both. I always do 7 food, then 5 wood, then 5 gold, then +4 peasants on food and +10 peasants on wood. For units, I never have a clear plan except that I make archers pretty quickly.I don't like the economical aspect of the "Age Of" games, so I just turn my brain off whenever I start a new game.
So what have we learned from the latest dev diaries?
>>579256927Cute.
>>579253581My man thinks he's playing timberborn. The fuck you need that much wood for.>I just turn my brain off whenever I start a new gameI can see that. Turning it on might help you some.
>>579263346For everything. I'm used to make 4 barracks and 11 farms the moment I reach the second age.Or rather, 2 barracks and 2 archery ranges.
>>579263717You're just delaying your tech and upgrades with that.
>>579264272FUCKThis is why I absolutely hate early games in RTS.
>>579264509Just cut the early lumber line to something reasonable and don't waste resources on farms while hunting or fishing is available and don't plop multiple military buildings before you have the resource income or the bank to actually support them running. Survive and eco boom until you finish some important upgrade like unlocking a new age and or really strong myth unit he doesn't have a prepared answer to then do a timing attack around that. It ain't complicated.
>>579224729good morning
Timberborn is probably the best colony sim after Rimworld
>>579241481>Shadow Empire too autistic, but I'm happy you like it
>>579197823>Oh, you meant Romestead?Yeah that is the one. Is it fun?
>>579280662Yes and no.It's early access, so it's nowhere near done.At the same time, it takes notes from Terraria and 7 Days to Die, with even a basic economy system. Ressources are unlimited, but they require a (large) building and a worker, so there's a small village-building dimension to it.Really simple, though, it's mostly just >get new guy>send him to work>defending him against raids earns loyalty whichs increase productivity>they also get experience, so you need to keep your guys working hard and not let them dieAlso you have a big biome thing because a mine in the plains won't yield the same stuff than a mine in the desert (that I just unlocked), and some stuff only grows in the forest. There's also some automation, but it's mostly >keep turning wheat into flour and flour into bread and move bread to food storageSo essentially juts link everything to storage and let them do theyr're thing. There's also a favour system where you suck up to gods to awaken them back, and a skill system where you specialize in a single weapon. But it's early access. And it really, really benefit from having a group to play with because you can only carry 4 stones by cart but you need around 4 wood and 6 stones for a single building.
>>579280662Oh yeah, and you have three kind of weapons/equipement so far,>main hand (weapons, like the gladius, the dagger, the hasta)>off-hand (shield or grappling hook)>two-hands (that's the maul)You do have the usual axes and pickaxes, but these work weirdly: they're "only" a damage buff when you attack trees and rocks, so they never show up.Same with the lamp, it uses an equipement slot but never actually runs out.
Also, good thing you get unlimited ressources, because fucking hell, you have TWO different sinks for excess items: sell them for brouzoufs, and offer them to the gods.
Has anyone played Fall of an Empire? Is it any good?>>579282021Oh terraria isn't really my cup of tea. It reminds me a bit of what the trailer of Conquista: Tide of Wills looks like.
>>579285468Never played Conquista, but Romestead really is a top-view game that's more action than RPG.
>>579285603Conquitsta isn't out yet but it has a rimworld kinda style. >Satyr RaidOof, can all sorts of mythical monsters attack your town? Do the roman gods have any influence too?
>>579286061So far, I haven't met that many monsters, mostly Fallen (undead) and satyrs, but I saw mentions of "rats". You can trigger some raids yourself through war declarations, but otherwise, they just happen randomly, and usually at an inconvenient time.I can only hope we eventually get more monsters, but I'm cautious of projecting my desires on EA games. And FUCK YEAH they do. You get two big things in the game: skills points (who give stuff like "can now dash while holding up a shield to whack enemies" or "now invincible during dashes"), and favour points, who is essentially research, with stuff like "+10% to defense" (used for raids when you're not around) or unlocked new tiers of units, or even TELEPORT TO ALTARS which is fucking mandatory.
Also for a reason that confuses me, you can sacrifice people.I assume it's a gameplay way to get rid of unwanted settlers without banning them, because the returns are mediocre and you get "bad omens" for 20 minutes.
Here are the skills. And unlike in Valheim, you don't lose these when dying, only your gold and (unless you turned it off) your equipement.
>>579287705Is the game out of early access yet?
>>579291818Are you trolling me?
>>579197648Wouldn’t it be possible to try and bribe your way to leaving the war via the trade menu or can you not do that with FEs (I turn them off)
>>579293552Yesn't.
Dawn of War 4.What do you lads think of it so far? I'm nervously hyped, but it likely won't run on my PC.
>>579293027>Are you trolling me?No, legit question. I'm too lazy to look up the Steam page.
>>579299947I honestly don't care much for 40k.

>>579307530Has the great khan ever been a serious threat? In any version of the game.
>>579314876yes
Post-apocalyptic is a neat thematic origin but once you start colonizing normal planets I feel like it kinda loses the vibe. Wish terraforming planets into tomb worlds wasn’t restricted to relentless industrialists
>>579317585play a genocidal, armageddon bombardment stance turns planets into tomb worlds
Does Zero company go here, because it's turn based strategy? I was considering /indie/ but putting an EA game there feels wrong, even if it falls under "misc". In any case: How the fuck do you know what weapon to use on each class?
>>5793185801: you can’t use armageddon as a hive mind (which is almost exclusively what I use)2: I hate playing as genocidal empires
>>579300502I thought I said it several times, that's why. It's EA.
They will fall.
>>579316268When? Ive played Stellaris until a year after federations and the khan had always been a joke up until that point.
>be good guy custodian>saved the galaxy from the khan and the gay tempest>one empire has treated its robots so poorly that they stage an uprising>beep boop I'm a robot too I gotta help my robo brothers>galaxy was getting a bit too peaceful anyway>join the war with a trade deal>my entire federation follows>4 other empires join the enemy>the empire that got the AI uprising in the first place dies like 5 years into the war>meanwhile I'm still busy bathing the world of random retards on the other side of the galaxy in neutron hellfire>set for an eternal war because AI uprisings are total wars that only end when one side is destroyed or the warleader sues for a status quosuch is the life of a good guy custodian
>>579330309khan was scaled terribly in the current beta up until the latest patch.he had (relatively for the time it activated) a lot more fleet power than any endgame crisis, and steamrolled normal AI empires on any difficulty.still a joke for any military minmaxing player, and any pacifist with strong economy could easily tank the satrapy tax for a decade, but half of AI empires just got wiped off the map.
>bee>can paralyze...huh.
