I also played the Pixel Remasters before they had these cheats too, but I have also played the Pixel Remasters after they added these types of cheats, and it's extremely convenient. I love being able to turn random battles off, since the alternative is that I just manually run away from them all. It's not a massive deal, but it's a great QoL convenience. And then, if I want or "need" to grind, I can just turn random battles back on, crank the exp/ap up, grind a few battles, and boom, I'm done. Ezpz. Though I should also add that I've played the games multiple times without cheats before too. It's not like I'm using these cheats on a first time playthrough, that might be kinda lame. Random battles have always been bullshit though, and I think all RPG remakes or rereleases need the option to turn them off.

Brother is cringe Japanese humor. It's just not the same tone at all as a "real" Final Fantasy game. Creature Creator is the best minigame in all of Final Fantasy though, it's available as soon as you get out of the opening of the game, and you can even just use the creatures as your main party instead of YRP, and last time I checked that's what the speedrun did because some of the monsters are OP, like Goon.
