If anything, the issue I have with the BG3 companions as romances is that they're all just vanilla with slightly different toppings.The game gives lipservice to monsterfucker appeal, but the bear Halsin and Mindflayer emperor sex scenes are very clearly played for laughs and shock value.I would have liked a romanceable dragonborn companion a lot. I know Larian would be committing to a very niche romance and it's a little selfish of me to want that, but it would have been nice.

There are multiple encounters there that lead you to another Act 1 areas with further content. The Goblin Camp can wait until you're ready, it's advised to gain a few level-ups and get better gear before starting some shit there. In the meantime just gain XP, talk to your companions frequently and just do whatever it feels fun. And keep in mind this is a role-playing game. Min-maxing and trying to get the "optimal" results everywhere is kind of missing the point.

Then just refuse to interact with the parasites for the rest of the game. You miss out on some cool bonus powers but it's actually better from a narrative PoV, it makes very little sense for your character to deliberately add *more* parasites unless he's a lunatic.

I'm struggling to even think of ways for the BG3 companions to have truly interesting interpersonal dynamics because at the end of the day they are all pretty much struggling with the same type of thing where they're living in the shadow of some type of authority figure. The pressing issues grounding them in the world of the game all revolve around that. I hate to bring up DA2 again but the companions in that game were extremely interesting to see them interact because they all had radically different mindsets and shit going on with them.

When you resolve that whether you kill or spare her, he doesn't care about the parasite before or after that. You don't get long enough with him to start caring about him before he gets turned into a devil so when it happens it's all dramatic for no reason. After he gets turned, it's barely a topic of conversation and he doesn't change in any way other than having ugly horns. Then all of his threads are just dead until you learn about Duke Ravengard, and even then, he admits he doesn't have any relationship with the guy. Also Sacred Flame is a DEX save, and the goblins/gnolls in the early game have high DEX so you're constantly going to be failing to do any damage to them. Change her high elf cantrip to a utility spell like Light/Minor Illusion, and then in her cleric cantrips swap out Sacred Flame for Toll the Dead.
wyll's writer caught a serious illness mid-development while they were working on rewriting him, I can forgive the state of the character in 2023, not in 2026 after they kept adding and revoicing scenes for astarion karlach and shadowheart, I'm not gonna say the R word but it's pretty sus that he's the only origin that didn't get any scene rewritten, even laezel & gale got something extra because the fans cried about it, for divinity, I'm expecting everybody to feel like an origin or I'm gonna be pissed

The companions in Dragon Age whether they get along with each other or, more often do not get along always interact with each other in regards to their established place in the world of Dragon Age and by the way they talk to each other it gives the player an even deeper and more meaningful understanding of the world. The lore in Dragon Age is so fucking rich just because of shit like this. Everything you do in that game is teach you something about something having to do with Dragon Age. It isn't just the interpersonal bullshit of stock characters. Despite having 40 years or whatever of preestablished lore to work with, Larian failed to do this with BG3 and that's why it's overall weak.

Funny bug. The prayer water basin in the room this guy is in has Attack as it's default interaction, rather than inspect or activate or open or any other thing. So if you just click, you hit it, which counts as property damage and leads to a fight.This mod has been pretty bug free for the most part. I've found a few, but that's understandable since it's quite large. It's as large as the act 1 starting area, from the fort to the beach etc. It covers the entire area between the two moonrise towers including a mine and a druid grove and basements, which add up to quite large. Very impressed so far.
