Honestly she seems very meh, she is a midgame recruit in almost every route and while Ive used her in part 1 a few times even with trying to min max speed or strength I always seem to find her disappointing. Also considering I did dietrich's part 2 creek absolutely bootyblasts her and I would say like 95% of any other mounted cav units that you might have trained up to that point with his absolutely fucking insane strength and speed like he came with fucking 35/37 and I have found almost no other light/med cav unit that comes close to him

The only routes I have seen people call bad are Dietrichs and Leda's to a lesser extent. The most you can complain about Cai's is the first few chapters are simple bandit fighting but you go see the grandpa hitler's mural in like chapter 5 and then it is very lore+heroic games heavy the rest of the run with his family dynamic woven in.

The game can be summarized as such

>Part 1 (route 1 and 2)
Generally pretty decent/good. The world map is novel and built for autism. Lots of minor gripes, but most people will have fun. Biggest flaw is that you barely play any classic FE maps.

>Part 1 (route 3/4)
A lot of the minor flaws from above rear the head and really start drag things out. Novellity of the world map wears and game becomes a real drag. Still probably not awful.

>Part 2
Cracks start to show here. A lot of the story from part 1 becomes irrelevant outside of Theodora's route. Regardless of your favorite, all of the part 2's are the Theodora and Bertrand show. The incompleteness of the game starts really rearing it's head. The upside is, no more chores and it's basically map to map gameplay, which will make some people happy. Basically bad story, but better gameplay (for some people).

>Part 3
Here is where everything falls apart. Story becomes total ass with it being awful Fortuna info dumps and killing random named zombies. The whole gimmick from part 1 comes back with a vengeance and now the maps are god awful zombie fart route maps. The story basically nose dives into total garbage tier. The only redeeming factor is that having multiple parties on the world map and "rebuilding it" might tickle someone's autism. Contender for one of the worst sections of any FE game of all time and retroactively makes you feel like you wasted your time grinding 80hours part 1's.

I replayed Cai chapter 3 for a missing scene and now I have a new branch in Cai's Path starting at Chapter 3. The only way to overwrite my old clear data is to take that new branch all the way to chapter 12 and finish it.

FW is fine though definitely bloated with micromanagement. Skipping some part of the gameplay is built into the game but at the same time skipping doesn't give you some key ressources. Doing everything is quite straining and burns you out in the long run. It's hard to know how to find balance at first. The UI also sucks ass. Which is really annoying because the hub is huge and fast travelling to anywhere takes a lot of button pressing.
But the characters and story are great, no complains there so far. Lamine house clears, Cai too.
The player avatar is a late addition so he does pretty much nothing and is kinda taped onto a finished game. The lords were obviously meant to be the player characters at first but then nintendo breathed down Kusakihara's neck and forced an avatar in. So basically the player character sublords still have their own harem and a lot of avatar worship while Eshmel the one they claim to be the avatar has, well, not much. Hence a lot of complains about the avatar being a cuck.
I like the maps, I like that there is some variety and that many are scenarized to be historical spectacles.
