The modern character models are way better.This is in essence a remaster of the vanilla experience with a future ahead of it. I don't think limiting art direction to 2 decades past is important for the game. Classic exists you can experience the game in old art. I think the decision to add extra spell power to weapons while reducing the base damage/healing of spells was shortsighted and wrong. I get the idea. They wanted to make casters feel like their gear, especially weapon upgrades, matter while leveling. That itself isn't a bad thing. Gear should matter while leveling as well. So you hit 60, and your gear provides roughly the spell power than your spells are missing. Problem solved? Not exactly, because not everyone is going to wear that spell power gear, namely shamans, paladins and druids. If you were a feral druid, you could still technically moonfire for some damage and heal for something. Now? Too bad, you're shafted, stick to your one role. Enha shamans on the other hand are made to partially recover the spell power with talents (giving sp based on int). Similar thing with rets. Hybrids getting shafted at every turn.

Does anyone else get really depressed while playing undead characters? Their existence is so bleak and they are borderline evil with the things they do. I tried playing paladin and they sort of make it better, since it seems like they've retained some sort of empathy for others, but the rest of them? Depressing as shit. It makes me sad to play. That removes one of the simplest and most relaxing ways to level.Not everyone wants every leveling session to be quest-focused. Sometimes grinding a dungeon with a group for an hour is exactly the experience people want.Dungeon spam does not need to be the fastest leveling method. It just needs to remain a viable option.

They made the change because shitters want hybrids (classes that can heal) to deal as much damage and pure classes (classes that cannot heal) in all formats. That simply is not possible to have without it being completely fucking broken in favor of the classes that can heal.Retail solved this by forcing you to pick a spec and removing spells from your character that they didn't want you to have, and by giving the classes all the same abilities. This allows them to buff the hybrid class damage.In classic neither of those things exist. They can only control healing through itemization. Therefore they nerfed all the base spell damage and transferred that power to items. Now at 60, you will be able to heal, but not very well. This justifies them raising your hybrid character's damage. You can still heal though, so your damage must remain lower than the classes that cannot by a margin. It's just not as significant as before.
