UnderRail is atypical, as in I believe its setting lends itself more to a story about its history rather than player centered. In that regard it is indeed intricate and a good experience. Some of the replies you got are perplexing, to say the least. The game is far from linear and there are countless meaningful choices in the game, especially in side quests. And moral choices, I don't know what they're on about since there are moral choices all throughout the game. The first main quest has a moral choice, so does the second, and the third, the fourth, the fifth... Not mention the moral choices of several sidequests. Perhaps they don't see them as such because there's no alignment system but there are undoubtedly numerous moral choices in the game.

Psionic enemies are complete cancer with no exception but Styg fanboys will defend objectively shit encounters like psionic enemies summoning invulnerable shadows that can one turn you with no way to mitigate their damage outside of using morphine. Styg also locked several unique encounters behind the hardest difficulty which desu just ends up being a reload save simulator most of the time. This sort of arbitrary bullshit is also present with several quests, off there are several random choices that can lead to you getting fucked with one making it so you lose access to the best vendor in the game. There's a lot of backtracking which gets really bad on repeat runs. If you've ever played Path of Exile and heard Chris talk about friction imagine that magnified tenfold and you get Underrail. Its a good CRPG but over time its dropped out of my top 10 games list after I've had some time to reflect on it.

In Expedition you can learn from a mutie how mutagen affects people, both in a physical and psychological sense.Wish I could revisit the conversation to be as accurate as I possible, but essentially the worst part of it all isn't even the physical, rapid mutation of the human body, the worst part is psychological.For a brief but excruciating time the afflicted feels like their mind is being ripped out of them in such a brutal fashion that it creates an everlasting memory know to torment people to insanity.
