But that you shouldn't have to do it to "be the best" at PVE.i don't even do PVP really. i never did arenas, and i will occasionally do a battleground, but honestly battlegrounds suck cock. it's really boring and i feel like i have very little impact and it's just not very fun.but viewing it as a grind is retarded. the content in the game should be fun for its own sake. you should want to do raids because you like getting together with a group of people and doing the dance successfully. i liked mythic raiding in legion because it was it was fun inherently. the gear was secondary, honestly. all the gear does is let you do the raid faster. who gives a shit.same for PVP. the actual PVP system itself should be fun. which is why i think arenas are such a good system. again, i don't do arenas, but my brother did, and he would get gladiator multiple seasons and take it very seriously, and really not raid at all. the matchups were fun. its like, i'm not playing counterstrike to make my number go up. i'm playing it because counterstrike is fun to play. i don't know if blizzard is missing that point intentionally or not. i think that chase items and "the grind" and rank 14 are all missing the point. the SYSTEM itself should be fun. it shouldn't be about getting the rewards. the rewards are secondary to the enjoyment of doing the thing itself. so, why not include arenas? it's an entirely separate way to enjoy the game. some people don't want to raid, or don't want to do battlegrounds. arenas are an additional way to participate in the game and are arguably one of the most pure ways to play. there doesn't have to be a new "arena tier" released every few months.
