Priority of these two veteran feats be damned, it didn't take very long to get the second. And in the few cases you actually need a little more damage, in Expedition the enemy has high mechanical resistance anyway. There's nothing else relevant to get at level 30. Psycho-temporal Acceleration is the best option as it provides five extra AP, one more attack of two turns.

So I just have Fortune from Cam or Ember, or both since they stack but I don't usually run those two together, so I have double advantage on my rolls and I extend their duration before the fight with cackle. Then it's a matter of precisely timing the Hepzamirah fight so that I can have Visions of Madness Saving throws (3 round duration), Touch of Good (1 round duration) and Bit of Luck (1 round duration) active when the Baphomet fight triggers. I also have Guarded Hearth active on the ground and naturally that also doesn't get dispelled. I believe Baphomet is not immune to Phantasmal Killer. There is also a ring you can get during Regil's quest that makes you immune to mind affecting effects, and I also make sure everyone in the party is carrying a scroll of Shield of Law in the off-chance they manage to win initiative so that I can make the whole party immune to mind affecting stuff before Baphomet casts Overwhelming Presence, though this is very rare.

His saves on Unfair are in the mid 40s and a Demon KC can get their DCs in the mid 60s at that point in the game, especially if you start stacking saving throws debuffing stuff like Display of Power, Dispel Synergy, your demonic rage auras, etc. I'm not sure how reliable Nenio would be in this encounter, you could use her on a lower difficulty, since she'll never reach the same DCs as a properly built MC. The numbers are pretty tight as is.As for the headband I'll have to test that and report back. I'm pretty sure the ring works, at the very least it does against the crystal's stun aura, which is mind-affecting. By the way the ring is called Martyr's Testament, forgot to mention that.

There are a few people we want to chat up tonight, namely the anarchs and Lou. The anarchs are a non-Camarilla source of information that is nevertheless on poor terms with the Sabbat, and may hear things useful to me. Unfortunately, we walk in and immediately see Max, criminal youth in a hoodie and local Brujah, sire of the former sheriff. I always try to praise games where they deserve it, especially games as unfairly hated as this one, but I equally try to be honest about flaws, and this whole sequence is a real flaw and break in the game's RP. My character is not very enamored with Max, and told him in no uncertain terms that he needed to not be around anymore. I even not so subtly encouraged the Prince to have me kill him for his childe's crimes. Seeing him perched on the bar in the middle of Seattle and not being able to boil him alive on the spot is kind of railroady. I guess I can justify it as not wanting to kick it off with what's left of the anarchs right now, but the game would have been best served letting me finish him off here. Still, it's just the nature of the genre, no CRPG offers total freedom. There are multiple points in the first game where LaCroix simply dominates you to keep you on the approved path, until we have AI generated holodeck games that's just the way it is.

Fortunately we're an old and very powerful predator, and as Fabien notes this girl has a particular odor. She was here, semi recently, and we've sniffed her before, we can sniff her out again.
The developers do a good job of establishing a canon smell for various potential waifu figures. I've seen the odor of someone like Morrigan debated in threads like this one for many years, and there can never be an authoritative answers, but here players can actually have a pretty good idea of exactly how Safia, Lou, and now Verona smell. I think that's kind of thoughtful, and shows a writing team that took a full spectrum approach to imagining their characters. Is the coverage total? No, we don't get a codex entry for Onda describing the scent of cocoa butter or menthol. Does Ryong smell like jasmine? Probably but we don't really know that. But the coverage it does have is better than most either way.
More games need LGBTQQIP2SAA inclusion. It’s marginalized enough already and yet it’s not getting better…

Walking around shirtless in the midst of the blizzard of the century is a bit conspicuous I think, I always make a point of changing my outfit to the warmer ones when going outside, even if the Nomad doesn't get cold she'd still want to maintain the appearance. In any case, a bit of Thaumaturgy and they're all dead in ~5 seconds. The game is always a terrific power fantasy. Most CRPGs make the dual mistakes of restricting the best abilities to the last 10% of the game, and restricting those abilities to only working on the lowest mooks, and VTMB2 managed to dodge both of them.

Unfortunately, she's less than useful, unwilling to reveal where she was, not really knowing anything about any sort of Sabbat, and just plumbing me for inside info in a very unsubtle way. I'm happy to sow a little discord and let her know that Lou seems to be pulling the strings, title or not, but that's really just to hopefully cause a problem for Lou. If the anarchs ever had any power in this town it died when Benny killed half of them, and this baron or whatever she is isn't a tength what Ryong or Lou are. Very difficult to take the anarchs seriously here.
Lou isn't receiving visitors, so our fishing expedition on who those marked ghouls/kindred might be and how they knew where we were will have to wait. In the meantime her hired help wants the sheriff to do her job for her again.

No real twists and turns in the side quest, nobody is a secret werewolf or anything. They're having a small meeting out back about reaching out to brown and yellow and getting out of guns, and then they're all dead a few seconds later. I wish I had thought more about it, I would have left one standing to feed on, but we'll find a hooker on the way home. Time for a rest.

A quick recap of the night's events with our head Malk - I've said it before, but I really like these, they're a clever way to keep the player on pace with things that happened between long play sessions, and I kind of wish they happened at the beginning rather than end of a night since waking up at the haven is the natural session starting point. Still, they're nice. With that, Phyre is off to her daysleep and we're off to prepare our next session. Hopefully I'll be able to post more regularly to keep /crpgg/ up to date on the comings and goings of Seattle's Kindred, and we'll still finish by Halloween. Then it's a new poll and a brand new CRPG to play and document here.

If you don't like something, then post something you do like. Only one other person posted a game today and that was a couple posts about Banquet. You can't really complain about the content of the thread while you do literally nothing to make it better, and you're even worse than the people you complain about since at least vampire does have roots in tabletop so it's at least sort of related. One can quibble about the exact definition of a crpg all day but a game that at the very least is directly based on a tabletop game at least hits some of the qualifiers.
