Know a lot of people dislike Satachania but I really like it. I think all he really needs is a tweak to teleport less and, ideally, one or two melee attacks to make the fight less avoid-projectile-then-hit. Imo the dragon is good as well, but 90% of the time the wings are the last thing to go and it really kills the momentum of the fight.

I actually like the main quest. I treat dragon's dogma as no different than any other game with NPCs and look forward to the NPC logbook populating with randoms I met along the way.

Then you'd have a nice long peaceful walk where you could take on the scenery and recover. Whereas in DD2 it is as you say, an encounter every few minutes and their intensity is about the same for each one, 4 goblins, or 4, saurians or 4 harpies and so on. The enemy variety is not that different from DD1 but the encounter design is leagues behind.What I think a good mod should try to do is replicate those more meaningful challenging encounters of DD1 which would go a long way towards making DD2's overworld more fun.Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Your mileage per class may vary though, I usually play Sorc or Warrior so shitting out AoE damage usually isn’t an issue.If you don’t have battle frenzy then get an AoE skill that you can spam. Even something like the Spearhand’s upgraded jump counterattack has a spammable AoE that I used to keep ghoul hordes in check when I was starting on the endgame grind.
