Have you ever been in a gaming guild? They're shit. I've followed him since early WoW and all the guilds he ever joined fucked him over. The last Albion guild he joined they literally invited doxxers into the guild that were after him.

Full loot pvp is cringe in this game unless you have a bunch of faggots in discord backing you up. It's also not efficient or profitable unless you're ganking red zone transporters with a small squad. Why bother? The PvP is shit anyway.

Safe zones make more consistent silver per hour. I doubt he does anymore since in his later vids he's shown that he gets referral gold and is the most referred person in the game. Perks on being a jewtuber I suppose.

Every guild fight I did in a top 10 guild was always one sided. You either outnumbered and rolled the enemy, had 100-200 ip difference and rolled them, your engages were just purely better, your comp countered theirs and rolled them. It was never back and forth. Always a smash or get smashed thing. When I did die, it felt shitty. The guild didn't re-gear capes, mounts, food, etc so you'd like 600k per death and be expected to re-gear and return to the fight 4-6 times per objective. Granted I'm a billionaire and every day I log into the game I have 24m silver handed to me but it's still SHITTY to surrender fake virtual currency to some smelly brown man to make some guild fucker rich. Cleric Robe should have been used in response to Bloodlust. Hunter Hood also gives good defensive stats so why make yourself immune to damage on top of that. I would have never considered using Cleric Robe to buff the Hunter Hood. Usually you just stop attacking when Hunter Hood is active. Sword player probably lost half his health to reflect damage.

This isn't a long sustain fight. It's like 5-8 seconds tops. You pop cooldowns and melt the enemy and then loot his shit this isn't WoW where you gotta play around cooldowns. You just mash buttons and collect loot cause your build counters theirs. If they "run away" then they melt and die. If you can't chase them then you fuck off and fight someone else. Waiting to press cleric robe when they try to life leech won't do shit. Cleric robe is for the damage steroid so you can melt them faster.

T4 Firestaff, Book, Cleric Robe, Soldier Boots, Hunter Hood, T2 bag and cape. T3 Horse or a Mule. One giga potion and a fish for regen. Reroll quality at the repair station if you want.
Great PvE clear speed. Mobility on the W and Soldier Boots to escape.
Switch to Firewall and Q spam for PvP. You should take every fight against melee weapons. Don't use the E into a reflect. Your build is so cheap but it can still beat players much stronger than you.

On the topic of sets, what the fuck should I be running right now? Currently I have 1h dagger+torch with the full skinning set, my combat set was leather hood, cloth robe and plate boots, all T3.

Always wear gathering armor when you gather. I think with Pork Pie they give close to 50% bonus gathering yield at T6.
Get a fame farm loadout to 100 so you can start levelling up everything with fame credits while you earn silver via gathering (T6+ hide gathering is best).
Firestaff and Nature Staff are great for PvE. Assassin Jacket will keep you safe from PvP. Mage Cowl for extra damage. Soldier Boots to escape.
For PvE you won't need more than a 30k T4 loadout. Always play in full loot zones for the extra fame and loot. Mists are great for solo play.

I once tried my hand at this game roughly about a year ago on the US server, back then I was suggested buying these dungeon maps off the marketplace but I can't remember if they were any good. What about them? Or are dungeons just plain ass?

Play Mists. That's the solo player content everyone is doing right now. You can get 3 sigils from crystal arena wins every day. You also get around 150k fame in tomes and 30k silver per win depends on your rank + rank up rewards (usually a skin and 100k silver).

It doesn't matter what you look like in the blackzone. Red is dead. There's no downside to killing other players. This isn't the redzone. I wouldn't gather in the blackzone during primetime when everyone is online. You go Roads or Mists and then blackzone when everyone is asleep.

Right now Bloodletter and Mistcaller are best. DBS has been nerfed. Carving Sword is nice for Iron Will but not much else. The E will only put you in combat. Battle Bracers can also be good.
>Armor
Your gathering armor already has Ambush. You don't need Assassin Jacket. If you have to use Hide Animal Poison, kill a whole area of animals before switching back to Ambush.
>Helmet
Use Block to buy some time and inspect the player ganking you. Check for invis reveals and purges.
>Boots
Use the normal sprint. You should expect to get your boots purged and revealed out of Ambush. You are rarely ganked by one player. The gathering gear sprint will silence you for a long time. You can use Iron Will or Brecilien Cape to make yourself immune to purges but then you are using an inferior weapon or cape. A second ganker will simply follow you on a fast mount. Also very long cooldown and won't be up on a second dismount. Gankers will chase you across zones. Reaching an exit and mounting up doesn't mean you are safe.
The Invis build is a meme. You don't have a T8 static dungeon to escape to in every zone.

A fast mount is better than a tanky one. If a group catches you, you are dismounted either way. If you go Roads, bring an Ox in case you find an Aspect. Once your gathering tools become more expensive, you might want to consider an expensive mount like a Gallant Horse or Spectral Direboar. Grizzly is for transporting. None of them are available on EU yet.

Energy, Invis, Giga, Resilience. They are all good and you can pick what you need during your escape.

Get to an exit, mount up again and then enter the Mists (until SBI changes it).

Join the bandit event. Each faction has a Discord that you can join if you want to find a group that is more serious about it.
In redzones you can get up to 15% more fame and loot if you play faction flagged. It doesn't apply to gathering fame unfortunately.
Yellowzone faction warfare is kinda lame. Do it to get the daily bonus if you don't have time for a bandit event. Group content in general is boring without a proper group. Just rats and freeloaders.
You get bonus faction points based on your performance every Monday.
Faction warfare might get reworked in the next mayor update.

Light Crossbow is good for slow PvE content like Avalon Raids or HCE where you need consistent high DPS.
However open world PvE is about dismounting and instantly deleting a group of mobs in one rotation. Firestaff is much better at that. By the time you have stacked your passive, I'm already mounted up again.

The reason why people will claim it's the best is because most hide mobs there are stags and sometimes they drop a lil bambi you can sell for an extra 50-60k silver. Every biome has primary, secondary and tertiary resource. Hide is primary for desert biome, yes.
However the choice of town you play from had nothing to do with that, generally it mostly has to do with what area of black zone continent you want access to. If you want to farm blue zone hides go ahead, it makes okay money and has a place in game's economic system, only you will be hating the game and your life pretty soon after that bot "gameplay" of farming those fucking spawns in steelhide meadow. Also it's best to go there from martlock and not from bridgewatch, it's more convenient to just R there after loading full heavy mount and sell all your shit right away - since martlock is the hide town, low tier hides would be in constant demand.

Safezones have loot-protection which can be a bother if a zone has too many dumb players who keep fame farming the hide animals.

If they got to 25m once they aren't NEW new anymore.
Gathering is a very stable and safe stream on income.
Gathering is also boosted by premium in a major way and is virtually untrainable without it.
Inversely, gathering isn't accelerated that much by spending money on it, aside from buying tomes, of course, but 25m worth of tomes is actually not that much.
T5 gathering on its own is enough to average 1m/day (before the premium boost) when it's done as a side activity to something else, so that's already enough to afford and sustain your premium.
And you get enough LP to grab T5 gathering of your choice (and two more T4 ones) from the initial 3-day premium.
It also opens up the prospect of refining, and getting passive/additional income from your island.

Also, you can farm T7 mobs (and bosses) with T4.1 gear. And even T6.1 doesn't cost THAT much, especially if you buy order it and enchant it yourself.
You don't need 25m worth of gear to solo farm high-end content. If you DO spend your last 25m on T8 gear, you'll be shitting yourself and avoiding lethal content, so your access to T7 and T8 will be limited to Mists, which are unreliable.

The simple fact is, if you've managed to make 25m once, premium will allow you to make the same 25m back again much faster than buying 25m worth of gear would.
Now, investing those 25m and trading can be more profitable, but then again, premium boosts your trading profits as well, so you will grab it eventually anyway.
And, well, trading is not for everyone.

Might as well share my approach to buying premium as a f2p solo player.
You can solo most bosses in T5 static dungeons with just a T4 Nature Staff. One chests alone can be millions of silver as it's group content.
New character to T5 reaver takes around 30 minutes. Have multiple characters if you want to cover more cities. You can always create new ones if you run out of premium. There are three T5 statics right outside each portal city. Bring an ox because you will often get more loot than you can carry. You can't make more silver on a character that has less than an hour playtime.
Getting killed doesn't even matter because you are risking like 15k silver.

The best thing in this game is the large scale zvz content in the BZ, if your callers are good, it low-key feels like a real conflict when they maneuver the ally zergs around the maps to intercept enemies or try to concentrate most of our numbers to fight the main enemy guild. But one downside of large scale zvz, is that once you really get into it, you stop enjoying the rest of the game because it's much more engaging than the rest of the game.
