I'm going to host an Enigmatica 2 Expert (E2E) server on 1.12.2 soon. Is anyone interested? this is an autistics-only modpack~I'm still getting the server up and running, if anyone wants to play.
>>1342365that depends, are you the shuten avatarfag from /v/? If so, yeah i'll join.
>>1342466we're one post into the thread nonny...yes, that's me. you want the discord invite? i'll post the plain server IP later when everything's configured.
>>1342476Why don't you try making this on /v/? /vm/ is kinda slow.i was actually just fucking around, i don't enjoy minecraft very much. Apologies.
>>1342560i might later, i'm a little scared of it being too chaotic. that's a shame, though the server is just a general /v/non server, and not just for MC.
>>1342565I might check it out one of these days. It's just that i don't really enjoy discord servers. See you around man.
shame the v thread died, I was looking forward to more posts, it did sort of devolve into unfounded paranoia towards the end though, how is the minecraft going shuten-anon?
>>1343029mhm, it's a shame. i think it's just one poster derailing the threads. regardless, minecraft has been fun so far, we made a lot of progress!
>>1343426ooo? progress like what? what kinda pack is it? if you dont care to tell me dont worry about it, I'm just bumping to keep the thread up and its nice to post here and not join the discord to chat (I'm shy and antisocial)
>>>/vg/mmcg has a slight lack of serbs at the moment, you could probably get about 4 people from there
>>1344256i thought about doing that, but i feel like adding a bunch of hardened veterans will disenfranchise the majority of the players, who are just starting the pack. i might ask around anyway though, it's not a bad idea!
>>1342365sure i'll join op send discord or somethin
>>1346857okay! we;ve made a little bit of progress since i first posted, but we're still in the beginning stages. i'll be on soon! .gg/UGXxUes2
>>1344234i didn't see this reply! it's a "kitchensink" kind of pack, with a lot of mods! you progress by creating a source of energy for machines, or magic for magic mods. the end-game goals involve using lots of mods together to become very powerful! so far i've just been farming food.

>>1342365hey op, i remember you from the /v/ thread. i've not tried modded minecraft before even though i have a few thousand hours in vanilla. do you have any recommendations on what to start with? E2E seems cool but it'd be a bit much for me i think :p
>>1347316nice to see you again! umm, let me think...if you're brand new, there are basically two types of modded. there's old-school tech mods, like the modpack tekkit, which you've probably heard of. every significant tech mod on any version below 1.16 is based on tekkit's foundation, so start with that if you want an old-school feel!the second camp is new minecraft modding, which is based around this mod called create. the create mod is really fun, and very aesthetically pleasing! it's not as progression-focused and is more of a sandbox that encourages creative building and factory construction. if that sounds more up your alley, start with create! you can also try enigmatica 2 normal, the normal version doesn't have any custom recipes and you can just play around with the mods. make sure not to overallocate RAM to minecraft!! it doesn't need more than 8 gigs, nearly ever. i play modded with 4-6 usually. i hope you have fun!
>>1347378arigato shuten anon ^-^ i didn't actually post in the /v/ thread but i remember your voice! i remember hearing about tekkit. i watched a little FTB and TFC too, a decade or so ago on ethoslab's channel...i watched the create trailer. the trains are incredible! it's almost more like factorio than minecraft. that's pretty exciting. i will have a look at the E2 normal version tomorrow. that said i will probably try something older so i don't get too terribly overwhelmed right off the bat hah. thank you for the tip about the RAM btw :)
>>1347453it makes me happy to help! have a nice time~
Has it gotten sexual yet?
>>1347499i mean i'm a flirt, but i want this to be a real thing, so no. i've behaved myself! and made sure no /trash/ people have filled up the discord/game server.

thanks for your contribution, i guess...
>>1370072hey shuten anon, how are you doing? I got curious about the mc pack and picked it up, I've been really enjoying the early game but had to look up a guide for industrial craft 2. I like that the pack forces you to use tinkers so that way I can't sidestep it like I would normally do.
>>1370163i'm doing well! the server is winding down, but i think i'm going to download the world file and continue the pack. i'm glad you're having fun! it's a very fleshed-out modpack. tinkers is fun, you should play around with it! putting sharpening kits on tools means you can upgrade your little iron pickaxe's mining level to 7-8 really easily. also make a gluttony charm, it's cheap.i hope you have a good time with it!
>>1370210I got to the point of using the uh, nether ores? the cobalt and the other one, I'm running an Osmium Pickaxe thats modded out, I really have come to appreciate the value of the tinker's modifiers over enchantments. I'd be further in the pack but I austistically built the 11x11 block smelter with regular furnaces before progressing. I'll look into the gluttony charm, despite its... odd name... and the pic you posted... So far its been fun, very minor complaints, and I really like the harder recipes, it doesnt feel too grindy because of veinminer or whatever its called, and it keeps me working on tasks when I need em done. I hope you have fun playing the modpack, did interests dwindle out and people stopped playing?
>>1370252i spent most of my time building, and then by the time i was ready to start helping with the tech stuff, everyone else had already set up huuuge systems! the spawn area had a massive cluster of nuclearcraft, thermal, and ic2 machines, so there was kinda no reason for me to set up my own system. i started creating the main AE system and automation, but our nuclear reactor stopped working, and by that point everyone was kinda burnt out. i had a lot of fun though! the point of playing is to enjoy it, not just to finish it, though i'll still try to solo it in singleplayer.
>>1370694interesting, glad to hear that your goal for the server and in finding people to play with went well. I'm going to probably do nuclear reactor stuff next time I play, thanks for the recommendation for the gluttony charm, its a nice little addition. Good luck with completing the pack in single player, are you going to do the bragging rights stuff too?
>>1371311honestly...i dunno. the end of the pack is the bragging rights questline, but i might burn out before finishing it. we'll see! and yeah, the reactor stuff seems pretty fun...
>>1371922hah, yea I dunno about bragging rights myself. I'll let you know about the reactor stuff if the thread doesnt die, planning on doing that tonight, or atleast getting started. What sort of stuff do you listen to when you play the pack, or do you just play the pack without listening to stuff? I mix between songs/game osts and video content, although lately I've been out of stuff to watch.
>>1372165i listen to music or audiobooks! i listened to dostoyevsky and lovecraft novels while playing this pack, and some ambient music.
>>1372737I ended up just making the reactor parts, and then breaking down my machine area to make it more efficient, since my first placements of the machines were based on block to block connections, and then only later did I learn you have to use copper cables... any progress in the pack on your end, shuten-anon?ooo? I'm not too huge of a fan of audiobooks, I can't fully focus on either task that way, also that sort of subject matter would be hard to focus on in the first place! I prefer short to longform breakdowns, I've listened to this guy's video on crime and punishment, it was really good! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aGIhcaOJe0
>>1373073honestly, i'm still figuring out if i have enough RAM to host the old server world from my computer...the nuclear reactors make a TON of energy! and there are ways to automate uranium production. summaries and lectures can be good way to get a synopsis of a book without half-listening to it, also podcasts might be a good compromise! though, most podcasts seem kinda like a waste of time...
>>1373859you had mentioned something about RAM at some point, whats the deal with that? Also, I got around to setting the reactor up! I encased it in the reinforced stone as the wiki noted you should do if its near you base (its in my basement), and now I need to look into fuel sources and vent stuff. What do you mean by automating uranium production? I've never had the mind for automating stuff like that, I usually just look up guides for it, I try not to think too hard about it or I feel left out. I don't listen to many podcasts that aren't comedy or stupid fun, I haven't encountered any that catch my eye as good for discussion of complex media, its like when you read a line in a book and then reread the same line a few times without thinking because you're not focused, but with audio, if that makes sense. I appreciate your recommendations regardless, I hope you're able to set the server up for solo, what happens if you aren't able to shuten anon?
>>1342476>d*scord>avatarfagging as a little anime girllmao the AGP is off the charts, can't wait to read all the drama when this Mineycrap server implodes like all the others.
>>1374049heres some spicy dramaa month ago i crashed on login because of thaumic tinkerer dynamism tablets until the host edited my inventory
>>1374039playing the pack in singleplayer takes more RAM, because singleplayer minecraft, mechanically, is actually just hosting your own server that only you can connect to, so you're running the server and client. because so much stuff is running in the world, i dunno if i can run the pack below something crazy like 9GB. good job on the reactor! by automating fuel i mean making a source of infinite uranium, but that's only necessary if you have a really big and costly reactor, you can grow uranium, or crush it from compressed endstone or something like that. don't worry about it right now!>>1374049the server's done now, we ran out of steam. i don't think anyone had a single argument while we played, it's pretty easy to have a drama-free environment.
>>1374222do you remember which item? I crashed in singleplayer from a shitty loot chest reward of lanterns from immersive engineering, so I am steering clear, just crashed after placing one, I'd like to know if I should steer clear of other crappy items like that.>>1375522Damn, how are you going to get around the RAM problem, maybe you could deload chunks or something? Play the server hosted but in singleplayer? Hope you can figure out a fix shuten anon. Also, on the reactor thing I'm working out how to get fuel still, I was playing around with voltages in the meantime, I've been only using batboxes and decided to make a CESU, I hooked it into my design and it fucking exploded, haha. I lost a metal former from it but I looked into a guide and apparently you just use a step down transformer, so I fixed the issue! I even made a heater and blast furnace to start on steel production, don't remember why since I took a break after the explosive incident.
>>1374222>>1375911>read the spoilerignore me being retarded, the JEI doesnt show it being craftable, how did you get those?
>>1375913JEI only shows thaumcraft shit after you research it in the thaumonomiconand if you ever wanted to use the tablets: don't. they need a living entity(plus a redstone signal) infront of them to activate, and if set to rightclick they will use the item on a random block 1-3 blocks away from the tablet instead of the frontthermal autonomous activator is the way to go
>>1375938I'll keep it in mind, I was just wary of the item because you had to have it deleted out of your inventory, sounds like a good way to brick a playthrough.
>>1375911the electricity stuff can be tricky! the wiring for thermal and mekanism is a lot less punishing than ic2. you'll need a lot of steel! the blast furnaces can be upgraded eventually, if you use the brick ones forever it'll take years.
>>1377296I've been using a Blast Furnace and it already takes me hours, I havent had any use for it yet so I was focused elsewhere. I finally finished my nuclear reactor! I'm now facing problems with circuitry, I have the max power bank, and all of the transformers, but my machines arent gaining power... I'll have to double check but I'm running glass fibre wires and everything looks good, I just need to craft 4 or 5 more machines and I may need to progress the game and kill the dragon to get an elytra to finish the Industrial Craft 2 tab. Have you had any luck playing shuten-anon, or is it off to bigger and better things, different games?
>>1377405good job!! try to switch over to thermal expansion and mekanism energy storage when you can, it's even better than ic2. the dragon is really easy if you have a tinker's crossbow, or really any modded ranged weapon! i've been too busy to play this week, i'll probably return to the pack, but after a bit of a break.
>37.10.122.34:25870how come it's running atm9? wasnt this supposed to be E2E?
>>1378408Not shuten-anon but I'm pretty sure the server ended, as per posts in the thread like:>>1375522
>>1378408>>1378432mhm i was renting it, the ip belongs to someone else now.
>>1378030Alright, let me know how things go when you start up again! I started in Immersive Engineering to get to Mekanism, and the quests have taken me 1/4th of the time Industrial Craft 2 did, its so much shorter, but I also feel like they think I already know what the multi block machines are... Also, I used most of my machines from Industrial Craft to reduce times and I already had a pile of every resource that I'd need, except for the green dye for HV relays. But, power gen is easy and I went from power stages so much quicker, the refined steel smelter thingy is soooo much better for steel smelting than the Industrial Craft 2 method, I couldn't believe how fast and less babying I needed to do to get it working. I'm now being gated behind Mekanism to actually progress in Immersive Engineering, gonna look into those multiblocks and see about making the Metal Press for more efficient crafts. Then move into Mekanism.
>>1380287sounds like you've made good progress! once you get into mek a loooot of the tech stuff opens up, or becomes way easier. the mekanism and thermal expansion generators are really good! also, craft nuclearcraft machines when you can, they're cheap and OP. the infinite water source and cobble generators are super easy to make!
>>1381970Haha, man you weren't kidding about it becoming way easier with Mek crafts, those shitty components I needed rubber and copper wire for are so inexpensive with the Metal Infuser! I love that it can just use power from my Nuclear Reactor, I was worried about carving out a new location underneath my base for setting up a new line of power like I did with Immersive, but nope, just hooked it into my Industrial Craft 2 setup. I ended up making a metal press for later crafts and now that I can afford to cheaply make some components I'm gonna swing back and try to finish off Immersive Engineering's tree. Why would I end up needing infinite cobble and water source? I haven't gotten to a point where I feel like automating anything because it seems sort of irrelevant to just using the 9x9 mining mod bundled with the pack, or just making a 4x4 water source. Maybe when I get further in it'll make more sense? I dunno.Hope things are going well for you shuten-anon, as always thanks for the advice and tips!
I would join but I found a extremely dedicated greg tech new horizens server and it's the first modpack ive played since orespawn. I've recent modpacks but have not enjoyed what feels like random slop thrown together. is Enigmatica any fun compared to gtnh? I'll give it a try if I have time.
>>1381970Do you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend?
>>1384607right! mek makes everything so much easier. the cobble is nice for sieves, if you set up automatic sieving you get basically all of the ores for free! you get cobble, and then turn it into compressed gravel/cobble in the stoneworks machine and put it in the sieve. it's not mandatory! i'm glad to help!>>1386041gtnh is very easy to burn out on. good luck nonny...>>1386731i do not...
>>1387337Why not? You're pretty cute so you could definitely get a boyfriend ...
>>1387396i'm looking for one, but i have some problems that make things difficult, plus, i'm looking for something real. it's really easy to get together with someone in an online relationship or whatever, but hard to get with someone who wants to keep you...
>>1387401What makes it hard? I'm sure you're capable of getting a nice guy who will love you ...
>>1387337Wow, I looked into that and you're right, that seems pretty strong! I'll hold off on doing that sieve set up for now, mostly because I don't need to right now. Currently I am beating my head against a wall in forestry because I have a brain parasite that DEMANDS I finish all of the tier 1 tech mods before progressing further in Mek, it is not going very well... When you started getting into modpacks, did you go through any similar sentiments? You seem so experienced, how many packs have you played? Sorry to hear about your relationship issues shuten-anon, thats pretty rough.
>>1387555i wouldn't use the word bpd, but i'm very up-and-down and come with the normal issues people like me have, i guess.>>1388718forestry is a huuuuuge pain!! you don't need to finish it before progressing, it's actually a really large mod and it's very tedious to progress, and don't even get me started on bees. i started on just tech modpacks, so when magic mods got involved i would get super stumped...i've probably played like, fifteen packs? i'm not sure, but i've played a lot! i've liked modded since i was little. thank you, and i hope you're still having fun~
>>1389208I do not intend to mess with the bees, not until I absolutely have to or I'm nearing the end of the pack where it could be neat to try out, I have all of the progress in Forestry besides the armor, because it requires bees... I think I've done all of the T1 mods that aren't magic, funnily enough I've only ever played magic packs like Thaumcraft but that was years ago, and I didn't like it back then, so I think its time to go further into Mekanism.Jeez, thats alotta packs Shuten-anon! I think I've played at most 4? I haven't even gotten close to finishing one of those packs, I played a skyblock years ago, then another skyblock about a year ago and got bored of both. Then I did some FTB magic thing, got bored of it, and finally tried "tutorial" packs in the hopes I would learn, but I got bored of that too! This current playthrough of E2E: E is the longest I've not lost interest, and also the most I've learned! I am finding the content interesting and enjoyable still. My goal is to make it to automation/inventory mods to really learn how to make big factories and numbers go very high up, just gotta take it one shitty T1 tech mod with harder crafting recipes at a time!!! heh but it actually is pretty fun so far, I hope you're able to get back into it, I'm really excited to hear about how you get along in your multiplayer server turned solo world!
>>1389208BPD girlfriend... Cute...
>>1389225i hope it's been going well! i think it's important to weigh your options in packs so you don't spend too much time in irrelevant mods, and stuff like that. i don't think i'll be able to host the singleplayer world anytime soon, it takes too much RAM right now...hope you're hanging in there!>>1390500it's not cute when you have to deal with it a lot, trust me.
>>1398522hello shuten-anon, different anon here but i think you're very cute, any way we can get into contact more?

>>1407503Sorry shuten-anon, I've been busy with some life stuff and had to drop the modpack, normally I would post but if I haven't been playing then there isn't much to post about! Perhaps if the thread is still going I'll post more, but I wont have any free time for a few months sadly. I still appreciated our little back to backs, and I hope everything is going well with you! You mentioned that you weren't active in your server due to various issues, I hope those have been mostly resolved and you've gotten to reconnect with the anons in your server.
>>1407503>post discord links instead of ERPing in the thread>thread diesshocker
>>1407503Im interested in joining if you are still handing out links.
>>1407870don't stress about it! i'm glad you had fun. it's about playing the pack, not completing it, most of the time. aside from family drama in the past two days, i've been active again, it's nice! we're still figuring out stuff to do. i hope you still find some free time in the next few months!
>>1409398i didn't realize discussing minecraft mechanics was that erotic, i'll behave better next time!>>1409920sure, i'm being smart this time and making a link that doesn't expire.we might play vintage story soon, but i'm not really sure! we're still figuring out what games we can play. .gg/ZBxqaANT3v
>>1410122>Family dramaThat sounds pretty rough, I'm no stranger to that sort of issue myself, so I know it can be shitty, good luck Shuten-anon, I'm sure you can persevere!>Its about playing the pack, not completing itI swear I'll be back when I can... and I'll complete the pack!!! But I agree with your sentiments, of course it does make more sense when you're with more people to just play and have fun, as opposed to alone where you'd be mostly goal orientated towards some end, but thats just my view's being projected into the discussion, hehe. >I hope you find free time in the next few months!Me too, I'm trying to ease off of the gas with my commitments, so to speak, as I was really spreading myself thin and started getting existential and depressive, doesn't help that I also really wanna get off caffiene and have been abstaining for the most part these past few days... I'll find a study-life balance that doesn't make me want to kill myself soon hopefully, or die trying... hehehe...>we're still figuring out stuff to doGoodluck with that, have you guys considered doing watch parties of shows, animes, or movies? Could be pretty fun, especially now that fall is coming up, you guys could watch all kinds of spooky movies or season classics like Over The Garden Wall! Also, you mentioned Vintage Story which would fall in line with the Autistic Game Experience (tm), so that could be neat! If you want a more relaxed but engaging game you could try Don't Starve Together! Its getting all sorts of updates lately, and even though I disagree with Klei's direction they're going with the game, it still is undeniably chock-filled with content!
avatar usage is against the rules btw
I will give it a try because i like Shuten.
>>1410506don't overstress yourself!! figuring out how to juggle your obligations can be stressful. i hope you're able to make some stability!we probably will do more movie nights, we've done a couple already. i've heard of don't starve together, i've never tried it though! it might be worth a shot. thank you for the recommendation!>>1411316i mean, who doesn't?

>>1412408I wish but it's up and we are only talking about vidya.
>>1412338because it's not exactly easy or sensible to organize a friend group and movie/game nights through a 4chan thread. i understand the aversion to discord, but it does have its uses.>>1412408it's still up, it's been up for like two months at this point i think? no drama so far.
>>1412531what's still up? >>1378408 makes me think it's all ogre and i don't see anything else in the thread>not exactly easy to organisethe van seems to do it somehow
>>1412296DST does have a bit of a buy in by way of basic game mechanics, knowledge, and patience though, which can alienate some people from wanting to play it. I'm biased cause I have 4000 hours in it (not an exaggeration), but I can say that for most of those hours I was having fun playing it and learning new things.Hosting can be a bit of an issue if you aren't using steam, even then steam server hosting can be shoddy so having a paid server is usually the way to go, so thats a factor to keep in mind! The game constantly, and I mean constantly goes on sale, also unless they changed it when you buy a copy of the game on steam they give you another copy to gift to someone, it was like that for years but I dunno if Klei is still doing it.
>>1412655>>1412531>>1412408Yeah I dont think the Enigmatica 2 server is still up which is what I was also asking about, I have no interesting in fapping with other dudes on discord
>>1412655>>1413646the enigmatica server is down, we might play another pack in a month or two.>>1412830well, i do like those kinds of games that have 4000 hours worth of depth, though it can be a turnoff for some people. it might be fun to just dabble with it, and i would be doing it on steam! i think? it's a shame how everything has to be done through steam now...
>>1416609>4000 hours worth of depthwell to be completely real, the game probably has closer to 500 hours of depth (through multiple playthroughs), I just have been playing DST since it was an EA Beta, they are adding more and more content as time progresses and thats a better justification for playing, what I'm saying is I play most of my games till they're grinded to dust (2400 hours in Terraria), and that mileage may vary!>its a shame how everything has to be done through steam nowI agree, but its more because of developers who rely on the steam friend system as an excuse to implement a poorly done multiplayer hosting experience, which is where steam hosting can get hit pretty hard, especially in DST where the game lags horrifically under certain circumstances, which is why dedicated server hosting can be preferrable if you want to sit down and go for 100s of days. I find that fan projects for multiplayer mods always outrank these developers, a good example is Nuclear Throne Together, where they had no multiplayer, some dude wanted to make a mod for it, and instead of relying solely on steam friends and basic netcode, he implemented a system where if the game lobby lags the framerate would lag too to hopefully save the player or at the very least dissuade them from hosting, also you could disable this setting in case you thought it was gay.
