good quick runs of aminus today. full party will go even faster. would like to do catacombs as well if we can get 8/8 'cause we'll want new armor to tackle the next set of dungeons so people can survive the hp checks that come with boss aoes.

Wasn't expecting to effortlessly glide through Cursed Animus with only 5/8 of the lads available for it, but clearly that ended up being the case...!
The difference in difficulty between that place and even something like Savage Wilds is pretty crazy. Although I suppose Cursed Animus is merely a "standard" Dungeon, rather than a Master one.
Definitely up for attempting Catacombs of Anguish if enough show up for it at some point. Our maintank has the HP for it, now all we need is the damage. For anyone eligible who's reading this, remember to search around for Crystal weaponry on the player shops, awaken your equipment, and get your armor to +8 if you have the spare funds to do so. There are plenty more methods to better your stats in the earlygame (Pet Awakening, etc), but I'll go into them in another post if necessary.

Also worth mentioning that I've (finally) applied a 7-day Unlimited Party Points scroll to the main group. Ran about ~$6 Burgerbucks worth of CWT, but I don't mind splashing a bit of cash to make our second week here feel a bit smoother (had I known this party would still somehow be around without breaking, I would've done so much sooner).
The listed effect works as advertised, but the buffs themselves can stack up to nearly twelve DAYS worth of runtime, meaning the main party is more than good on bonuses for the rest of our playing period.

I'm not with you guy's general and just happened to see this thread but I just happened to find my old hard drive stored with old MMOs I used to play and Flyff was one of them and it seems like I have a few screenshots from 2007. I would play with you guys but modern Flyff looks too different to ever go back, both community and gameplay. As for pic related , its from v7. If any oldfags remembers the blood room in that mines area that was sealed off by the devs that you could still glitch your way in, this was from that area.

I remember that place being real creepy because there was a risk of getting banned if caught but the exp from the mobs at the back was better than anything else in that dungeon.

You can give pservers money if they earn it.
I thought about it while playing RaiderZ until we had like 12 hours of downtime.
I just thought that all the GMs going out of their way to help players through cata like it's an actual job is worth $5.

I think the game just resizes screenshots or something. There was no why I was playing at that resolution on my old shitty dell 13' monitor from 2003, that monitor was a few years older than my PC which was from 2005ish. Don't know why some of my pics have that blank area at the bottom but not all my pics. I don't think I ever played at fullscreen either because I always had msn running. I do see some old screen related programs so I must have been messing around with that too.

Alright, I hit 151 and have gone to some of the end-game areas to see if the perin grind gets easier. The answer is: kinda.
Eldeon and Sunfall Eldeon are kind of the same, but normal Eldeon has no stat variety in the mobs there and they all drop like 625k perin each.
Sunfall has some weaker mobs and some stronger ones. Brars are the weakest and drop about 410k each. Milaerns are a little tougher than the regular Eldeon mobs and drop 850-900k each.
I think maximum efficiency really just comes down to how fast you can kill stuff. If you can kill mobs that drop 400k in 2 hits but it takes 7 hits to kill something that drops 900k, then it's not worth it.

...All this grind optimizing research when we're going to drop for a new game in a week anyway. Whew.

Tad late in posting this here, but solid effort in the assault against Hard!Animus, lads.
Most of our later runs looked noticeably cleaner than our earlier ones (barring that one ill-fated attempt to stack on the tank), and we've seen all the mechanics there are to see in that encounter. Now all that's left is to better our gear a bit more, and we'll see this bastard Vampire Lord be taken down.
It's nice that this game is finally providing an actual challenge for us, even if most of that challenge largely boils down to "don't get caught in animation lock when AoEs come out".

>>1355284
>All this grind optimizing research when we're going to drop for a new game in a week anyway.
Despite the unusually higher-than-average degree of shitposting about this game in the main /vm/ thread, there's certainly appeal in an oldschool grinder like this one, for those who enjoy this style of stat-chasing KMMO.
As a caster (Seraph on my main account with an eventual Mentalist as an alt), it's amazing to land more DCT% when upgrading my gear and feel my spells become more and more fluid as time goes on. That sort of noticeably visible improvement to one's performance just isn't something you typically find in modern MMOs these days.
Plus, it helps that pre-Angel gear looks to be relatively affordable with a bit of grinding. Level 130 weapons are occasionally sold on the Player Shops for around ~15-20 Perin, Savage Wild accessories and Crystal weapons are around ~5 Perin on average, etc. Still a bit of a grind, but definitely within the realm of reason to chase after during our playing period.

Hell of a fruitful day this one was, lads.
Rushed through Easy!Catacombs without issue, claimed TWO (2) 130 weapons from the same run of Easy!Ankou, and handily toppled the Vampire Lord in a follow-up run of Hard!Animus (and got nodrops for it, but whatever, it's the principal of the thing).
Excellent to see such visible progress be made in such a short span of time. We'll be knocking on Kalgas Cave soon enough at this rate.

Further, I finally came to the realization that I just-so-happen to have a Level 130-H Seraph alt rife to be showered in hand-me-down equipment which would otherwise be collecting dust in my main's inventory. As such, I'll be running my clears of Easy!Meteo and Easy/Hard!Animus on Teaberry from now on, with my main progressing into the Angel Ranks post-150.
Fortunately, level 150 characters can freely access level 130 dungeons, no matter what their Angel Rank might be. Given the level difference of a target massively scales damage received (more when below a monster's level and much less when above it), this should (in theory) mean level 150s would absolutely trivialize the 130 dungeons, making for much swifter clears and potentially allowing us to challenge Hard!Catacombs and Hard!Ankou much, /much/ earlier.

So far as I've researched, the only reasons to keep a character at level 130-H are to solo-farm Meteo, and run Cursed Animus if you don't already have a level 130 weapon.
Potentially, a dedicated alt (or main) would be kept at that level to continue clearing them (similar to how 80-M alts are kept for Savage Wilds)... But I know not everyone would be keen on potentially raising yet another character for stages we may-or-may not even need to clear for much longer, depending on our drop luck in the 130 dungeons / Player Shops.
All the same, I'll be attending level 130 dungeons on my 150-AR30 Seraph going forward.

We're nearly past the earlygame now - certainly making the most of these scant two weeks!

>Server goes down for maintenance
>The Party™ is no more
Lads, it's been an honor helming this party for the past nine consecutive days. But as with all things in life, so too must this impressive run come to an end.
We may never ascend another party's level to nearly the same impressive heights again during our stay here, but it's heartening to know our first-ever group in this game sustained itself to the very end (of this maintenance cycle).
I'll be sure to get another party running shortly after the server comes back up. No sense letting all those super useful Party Scrolls go to waste, after all.
Was nice to see the staff wait a bit to take the server down 'til the in-progress fight against Sahrotaar was finished. You don't see that sort of grace given to players on any official server of an MMO.

Some miscellaneous findings uncovered during the early hours of the morning.
- Ringmaster's buff "Prevention" is considered a class-specific self-buff on this server, and cannot be applied to other players (even through the Buff Peng).
- Ringmaster's buff "Haste" allegedly does nothing, since every character already has 100% Attack Speed by default (and is not included at the Buff Peng)
- Ringmaster's buff "Accuracy" MIGHT not do anything either, as it also doesn't appear to be included at the Buff Peng.
From anecdotal experience playing other versions of Flyff, you'd practically /need/ to have an Accuracy buff running at all times to hit damn-near anything, so perhaps Monster Evasion (and thus the +Accuracy needed to counteract it) simply isn't a thing on this server.

Additionally, I briefly entered both Kalgas Cave (Easy), and Ankou's Asylum (Easy) on my 150-AR30 Ringmaster, just to see how much of a difference level scaling makes.
The basic enemies in both stages dealt around ~1,200-2,200 per hit to me, playing as a Seraph with only base STA and zero bonuses in DEF%. For reference, these things would 2-3 shot me before at Level 130-H.
I have absolutely no doubt that our maintank could easily survive any of the 130 dungeons - possibly even on Hard Mode - when ran at Level 150. The bigger issue now would be amassing enough DPS to beat the enrage checks. We'll see how that plays out in the coming days.

Got a bit more grinding in before signing out. Only made about ~3 Perin/hr here, but obviously I'm nowhere close to 1/2-shotting any of these monsters (and likely never will be), and was mainly here for the EXP/Angel Coins anyway.
The Grind™ definitely starts showing a bit of itself once you're past AR-30. Was only getting about ~0.8% EXP per-kill against the monsters in Eldelon, even with 5x Amp Scrolls active.
There are separate "Angel EXP Scrolls" in the Cash Shop sold for pay2win currency which stack with regular EXP Amps, so I'm guessing this is where more impatient players would start to whale-out. Still seems potentially do-able even without them, although reaching AR-100 would almost certainly take you a couple of months.

Definitely starting to feel where Seraph's limitations as a farming class come into play, compared to other AoE specialists. Its luring spell only deals 1 damage (much as a tank's would), and the 10-second AoE field it casts has a 1-second cooldown attached to it, and can't be slotted into the Action Bar.
Hard as it might be to believe, but you REALLY do start to feel that 1-second wait inbetween casts, especially compared to the cooldown-less AoEs from either Mentalist or Arcanist. Requires several seconds of lead-up to get going, slowing your kill rate down, and sorta putting a soft cap on how effectively you can farm as Seraph, once the two aforementioned magic casters catch up in DCT% and start spamming their spells like machineguns.

Still, considering Ringmaster/Seraph is supposed to be the game's main support/healer, I'm totally fine with the trade-off of its AoE not scaling as well as a dedicated DPS class. Plus, it's still faster than single-target slaying at 150 anyway (unless Sunfall!Eldelon is especially good for 1v1 classes, can't speak from experience there).
