Arcadia had not been announced for reopening at the time I made the thread, but it's likely going to become the most popular pre-renewal server in the coming months, just as it once was when it was called OriginsRO.

Personally, I'm hoping that Yanis Chronicles gains more popularity than Arcadia but it's not likely, however both seem to be very good future options for oldschool RO fans who dislike too much customization, with one allowing multiclienting and the other not allowing it.

The most exciting parts are finding rare items at endgame, overcoming dangerous bosses with your party using their cool and unique roles, and conquering others in PvP.
Whacking the common monsters over and over isn't peak gaming as you claim it to be.

I don't blame anyone wanting to get to endgame, and I'm surprised more players aren't flocking to 100x rates or higher given how little free time they have these days, let alone 5x.

I used to play on a server called Dream of Midgard, it had this system where you made a merchant to sell stuff and used some @command so that it disconnected you but your merchant stayed in-game and selling, they had these "Beginner" hats for new accounts but I don't remember much else about it.

Game goals wise (equips and rares), it is a grindfest like all MMOs, but the sandbox features make it fun to re-play and experiment on. This mixes great with how the game rewards your experience as player by not rail-roading you.
Story wise, there's a lot of interesting bits to discover about the world, but the actual questlines are mostly mid. When you are autistic enough tho, you do notice that there's a lot of visual storytelling for a game this old, especially in its variety of enemies.

20 people running around a map fighting for like 5 spawns of the only mob you had to kill (10 kills) and then you needed a 10% drop from it too

Thousands of custom costumes, corrupt GM's who boost their mates to max zeny or experience, destruction of morroc always being the go to episode, 1x 1x 1x rates as if that's somehow nostalgic, infinite arrows / Acid demonstration EDP killing the player driven economy for those materials, Guild packages giving transferring groups +7 equipment / Emperium / 100's of consumables, Card remover once again impacting market value, nerfing the vendor price of sold items (Because the server runners have to interfere and fix something that isn't broken), "MvP and miniboss cards now have their effects disabled" - Who ever asked for this? No repeatable XP turn-ins that have become a staple of gameplay, those peco beaks etc are now redundant. Shitty auto events such as Cluckers (kill yourself until a random player wins) & poring catcher, you have that but not something genuinely useful like monster of the day.

Single client only! 2 clients aren't causing any harm.. not everyone has a friend to play with
Town/Dungeon warper: No field warper? Why suddenly the arbitrary limit?

Particularly if you're going for that sentimental "Good old days" vibe. Quality of life conveniences can be a positive, nobody is arguing that. There's also being too convenient, IE: full mana restore town healer, killing SP regenerating items from Strawberries to Yggdrasil seeds.

I want Gravity to die already so they lose their IP and everyone else will be free to cash in. That's when you'll have true development (as in improvement) of this game and IP in general.

Ragnav has pre re stats, and even the event stuff has the cards tuned to pre-re numbers.
