yes Fresh Focus is useful, but it's not significantly better than LS unless you're just awful at stamina management

Fresh Focus completely shuts down OOS pressure in half the time since it's a flat 20% per ticks, so if you block a single off-lock multihit, you can instantly recover 100% stamina in a 1vX scenario. Against OOS pressure fighters like BP or Glad it's a massive way to tip the scales toward you in a time they expect to have a longer window, and it almost entirely shuts down a Jorm no matter what way you play into them. Block->Light OOS Truecombos all of a sudden don't exist if they're not throwing them immediately on OOS, and they always fall for it (which after the first time, it's usually over). No other perk in the game can just shut out entire champions (Rocksteady and Thick Blood were literally removed from the game because they did the same thing, on a Feat, let alone a Perk), it helps you avoid OOS wallsplats and enables you to play more aggressively with your stamina since you're harder to punish. Sounds like a shittercrutch on paper, but it's always been huge.
Last Stand is complete fucking RNG as to if you're going to get value out of it, since it only applies after the value is set in the red zone (aka, if you go from 35->2HP, you only get LS on the remaining 2) - and it's not based on 25%, it's 25 flat HP before it kicks in (so multiple heroes can just skip it entirely, so it's no value). 10 effective HP only on VB is a near direct-downgrade to both Remedy and Devour, which are both permanently active and both do almost the same more often. The revenge shield boost is nice as a niche, but most of the time you're not going to burn it down, but rather time it out - you get more than enough HP to play with unless you're 1v3, in which case the timer will still kill you, and in 1v4 they don't give a fuck about the 40% increase. Sounds like some deeplore secret trick, it's actually shit once you run the numbers.
Bulk Up is less than 1 light, and is, again, outmatched by Devour and Remedy.

It's old, but Feats haven't changed in forever.

Aye, that was it for me too. I'd play the shit out of Breach back when it was objective based, and the tradeoff of ultra-mobility and objective presence for a weaker 1v1 (made up for by being an effective Aggressive Support in teamfights, like a paper mache version of Jiang Jun) as Shinobi; and then doing sneaky ninja shit like disengaging by quad-dashing around walls, waiting around corners for ambushes, smoke bombing to loop around people, breaking my legs to 1hp on exact-height ledge drops or suicidebombing on the cauldron if backed into the corner with the nail bomb. It was my thing. Ninja Simulator. It's like, the entire concept of a Shinobi - an Assassin that gets the jump on people and gets shit done in the background, but melts if you grab the little bastard by the neck.
To me, I didn't care if my KD was shit, as long as I fucking drilled those banners, blitzed those archer lanes and solo'd the Guardian for the team buff, I was fucking gaming like a boss with music blazing on while I was doing shadow arts shit. Sure, some games were almost like PvE (tards gonna tardfight), but when you'd have another non-empty-brained enemy bothering to play the objective, it was a super-unique mindgame; like a flawless cross between a lax fighting game and a lax RTS / MOBA, where you needed to genuinely balance skill and strategy, that I've never seen before or since. The few times I came across enemy Shinobis playing my own game against me was like a fight for the ages. Real cool shit.
So good that "influencers" wanted a 1v1 rock paper scissors fighting game instead (the brawl, arcade and duel modes were soooo popular after all - domination and breach were basically miniscule in comparison).

Pretty sure they removed the powerslide too, but obviously I've not got it installed any more to check. Have an old funny webm of mine I've got in the old file for old times sake for all that reminiscing.

what if the way you give Highlander an opener is the Kensei approach

So which bash is unreactable that I am supposed to use to actually deal damage?

I should add, going for a flip is dangerous as hell because if you miss, god forbid, you basically cannot recover from the punishment you will receive. Huge stamina loss and unbelievable hitstun so you can never get back to Bulwark. I lose more Hp off missing a flip than I do getting GB

BP has 3 different neutral bashes. Use them.

And your in-chain bash should be paired with use of your undodgeable heavy finisher. That's the thing that makes it a mixup. If people start parrying your undodgeable then start feinting it and going for a GB. If people dodge the bash every time then punish that with your undodgeable.

Also you should be using your Bulwark Slash mixup frequently. That's the unblockable heavy you access from Bulwark Stance. It can be feinted for a GB. It beats people who try to GB you out of Bulwark. You can also target swap to another opponent and make it basically unparryable for the target you actually want to hit.

And yeah flip is good, but it's best used sparingly unless you know which moves are safe to flip and which aren't.

Also you have crushing counters in all directions so remember to use them. I don't play BP, but I'm 90% they're chain starters so they get you right into your bash/undodgeable mixup.

anyone with a neutral heavy to bash soft feint has an extra mind game they can do

if you use Kensei's top heavy to bash soft feint a lot people start dodging on reaction when they see the top neutral heavy. You can then start to punish this by instead feinting the top heavy and parrying the dodge attack.

Same thing goes for BP.

I guess I've crawled out of wood ELO because suddenly all of my duel opponents can consistently parry my heavy after shoulder bash. My basic combo is

Before this was working great and while I would sometimes be parried, if I switched up the direction it would land more often than not. Now suddenly it isn't hitting at all, and I end up eating an unavoidable punish for my trouble (at least warmonger, orochi and nobushi could all attack faster than I could guard)

From what I can tell, I can hit a single heavy off a fully charged bash, but I'm not getting those full bashes often enough to rely on them. Am I really meant to chip away with light attacks? If so it feels like wardens lights do very minimal damage compared to other characters

Warden is a simple character but unreactable still. Your shoulder bash is the bread and butter. If you land a level 1 or level 2 (partially charged bash) then you get a guaranteed double light. If you land a fully charged bash (a level 3) you get a heavy. You can feint the bash like you can feint heavy attacks. Do this to bait a reaction from your enemy and then react to what they do. If they dodge attack, parry it and punish. If they empty dodge, guard break and punish. If they try to hit you with a light attack to interrupt, parry it and punish. If they try to dodge bash you (from a character like Shinobi or Gladiator), dodge their bash and the guard break them and then punish them.

You need to be feinting your unblockable heavy and bash more to try and see what your opponent does and react accordingly. Start conditioning them to react certain ways and then do the opposite. You feinted the bash into guard break because he dodged, now he doesn't wanna dodge anymore so this time you just let the level 1 charge go off instantly and get the light attack. Now you get to go back into your shoulder bash mixup until he guesses right.

You're not. The unblockable heavy isn't his bread and butter. The shoulder charge mixup is. You can do them after his light attacks which can be guaranteed from several options. You can side heavy off a guard break or top heavy after a guard break into wall splat throw.

If you get a read on someone you can get a heavy attack one way or another.

If you really want to make use of the unblockable instead of the bash for whatever reason you can get into it by holding backwards when you do your heavy or light attacks (except top light because it's a crushing counter). It will move you backwards and out of range of the enemy's parry and most attacks unless they make a hard read you're trying to do it.

You should try watching some good players if you want to see all this in action. I don't know how relevant he still is in high level play but Havok is still a good player and he mains warden.

All of wardens moves chain into his unblockable heavy. A popular starter is feinting a top or left heavy into the zone attack, and then moving into an unblockable (which you should feint most times to see what your opponent does) or the bash combo. Variably timing on the bashes is huge, and you can feint it in the 2nd stage of charging it to mindgame your opponent even more. Additionally, when you land the bash+double lights, you can then choose to either go into another bash or throw the unblockable heavy for more mix-up potential.
Warden may not have blues, but he's still great at punishing dodges. Light parries (i.e. parrying most dodge attacks) lead into a top heavy that hurts really bad, as do wallsplats, and some heroes will get hit by the side unblockables if they naked dodge in anticipation of a bash. You shouldn't really be throwing the top unblockable unless you're feinting it to bait a crushing counter, since the top one is super easy to dodge.

I have a very hard time landing crushing counters, I think the timing is off from a normal parry. I can somewhat reliably switch guard +parry but very very rarely can I land a CC (though they feel incredible when I do)

No, light parrying is when you parry a light attack. You can tell because the screen flashes much brighter during a light parry, and hitting a light parry guarantees you a heavy or more depending on the character. On Warden it guarantees you your top heavy. This gameplay is dogshit but it does a good job of illustrating the difference between light and heavy parries based on screen effects, and you can see I get the light parry screen effect when I parry the Oxy's dodge attack.
Typically light parries are difficult to land unless you know animations or bait them or start going monkey mode and just "parry on red" (Parry attempt as soon as you see the attack indicator in anticipation of lightspam). However to limit the usefulness of dodge attacks and to encourage people to not spam them, parrying a dodge attack (which is very easy if you're expecting it) counts as a light parry and gives you greater punish. Baiting and parrying dodge attacks is huge for low level Warden.
The main exceptions to this are Warmonger (who has the most obnoxious dodge attack in the game because it's unblockable with insane amounts of i-frames) and Tiandi who has access to both a heavy and light dodge attack.

Every forward dodge bash is now 433ms and occurs 300-100ms into the dodge so you can't do it on reaction

Hyper Armor timings are now 200ms into the attack so a bit before the feint window.

Continuation from my previous post.
I took a video showing this happening and while I only see it happen for one of the executions I have, this could mean that this bug is happening on other executions. In the hero menu it plays out fine with no errors but in-game it's bugged.

This can mean a few things:
1. Someone at Ubi simply made a mistake and bugged the animation.
2. It seems that Ubisoft's specialty is making games with a few solid redeeming aspects to keep players hooked, yet make the rest of the game so unbelievably dogshit that it's not even fun to play. It's an abusive relationship, and quite frankly Ubisoft should be paying players court fines for abusing them.
It's very rare to find games where the entire playerbase, including the redditors (who are usually overly positive about everything), agree that the game is dogshit. The only other example I can think of is League of Legends
