alright so, accounting for the +5 agi that each maneuver gives you, and ignoring the low sample size (there's ~500 data points each, this took me 6 hours to get this data, it's good enough), it seems that Pattern Reader gives about a ~5-6% enemy hit rate decrease per maneuver, or about +10-15 extra evasion (because evasion is halved in the equation for hit rate)Also it seems as though your automaton needs to have engaged an enemy before Pattern Reader takes effect. That middle portion with all the "engage disengage" stuff shows that whenever I activated maneuvers but didn't engage, then the automaton would get hit more often, about ~15-20% more, indicated pattern reader probably didn't take effect. I wonder if it's like a Dancer samba where the automaton has to hit the enemy, and then the enemy gets tagged with X maneuvers or something. I guess I could try aggro-ing 2 enemies at once, and see both of their hit rates, but that's kinda annoying to find out, and I'm sure my shitty little robot will die if I tried aggroing more than one enemy at a time. It's wishful thinking, but I wonder if it functions exactly like a dancer samba, and other people can take advantage of the evasion increase or something. Nah, that's too much utility for the little robot to provide, no way it could do that

I fought an Aht Urhgan Attercop, which has a 4 seconds attack timer, but it also has double attack, so I really fucked up because I don't know when each hit was done. Let's just assume that the attercop has the same double attack rate as a level 70 WAR (12%) and say that the attercop's attack rate is actually 3.5 seconds (and let's ignore every time it did a weapon skill and fucked the time up even more) I always start with 0 wind maneuvers, then pull an enemy with the automaton, then activate my wind maneuvers. However, you might notice I have a "weighted average 4" this just means that I already fought an enemy with 3 maneuvers, and kept my maneuvers for the next enemy, it doesn't actually mean I had 4 maneuvers. You might also notice that 3 maneuvers and "4" maneuvers have similar trend lines. Normally you'd think holding on to your maneuvers would mean that 4 maneuvers should have a flat trend line since you already built up your evasion, but in this case, aggroing a different enemy seems to have reset the evasion bonus. This indicates that Pattern Reader probably works on an enemy-by-enemy basis, as opposed to just giving you a flat evasion increase over time. Especially since if you use /checkparam <pet> it doesn't show an increase in evasion, unlike the Accelerator attachment which does show evasion increase when you do wind maneuvers. My theory that it works similar to a Dancer Samba is coming more and more true

>>1485067Gil takes FOREVER to come in, but it's all passive. You can make decent gil starting out with moat carps. 3-4k a stack. But you have to buy insect balls with are 3-4k for 99. If you craft them yourself its drastically cheaper. You'll be selling all the fish you get to npcs, so fame helps a little bit here. I made maybe 200-300k going from 1-50, after that you can pull in 100k for an 8 hour session. At 86 wish lu shangs you pull in 200-300k in an 8 hour session.I was at 3-4m when I got banned for fishing constantly for a week. I had bought o. kote, scorp harness +1, cross counters, jujitsu gi. Was saving up for brown belt, fuma kyate, and wyvern earring when I got banned. Pretty big bummer getting rank 10, ZM 16, CoP 4 and it all going away. Gives me the biggest pause starting over. But I don't want to do it all again in a completely empty server.

New player here. Just had a fucking grueling experience going through the Headstone pilgrimage in Zilart which took 3 hours. It would not have been so bad but I jut spent 5+ hours in Magicite to get here. This main quest is like going through a sensory deprivation chamber in 2024 where you just warp to the start of a dungeon then run through it with no combat encounters (and trusts handling any which may arise). A lot of stuff here is great but going through it in 2024 is grueling as fuck. Does it get better or is completing the story in FF11 just a merciless empty grind?

When I am playing while my LS is offline, I form my own parties, starting by finding a RDM or WHM to heal since those are the rarest.

All right, so, Horizon thing:I've been cooking up an idea of making an half-RP half-gameplay focused Linkshell - basically, occasionally, there would be events geared towards doing activities that you normally don't do in classic XI, in the form of handing out 'bounties'.These bounties would primarily center around dungeons. Hunt down an NM, kill a certain amount of mobs, help someone do a dungeon-related mission. If you are on an era private server like Horizon, then you will have to tighten your belt because you make gil passively and very slowly in FF11, with a little trickle of gil from mob kills, 30k from three (relatively) easy quests at around level 50 (the two 10x Selbina Clay monuments which requires other people to open doors in a level 50 dungeon, and the Engraved Key quest which requires you to kill Ahtu, which you need a small party of 50s or two level 60s for). Most of your gil will come from selling the drops you get on the AH, or buying conquest point items and selling those on the AH. A good 2 hr exp session might net you a stack of 12x fire crystals which you can see for 1,000 gil. You just gotta slowly save and prioritize the purchases you really need, namely essential spells and upgrading your pieces of gear every 10 or 20 or even 30 levels when cost effective, and making sure not to bankrupt yourself as you still have to pay for food/transportation. I am level 61 on Horizon and have 400 hours of playtime, and right now only have 21k in gil ATM, because the rest of my equity is sunk into gear.

Hey anons, I'm sure this has been asked a trillion times but what's the best way to progress story? I've got to the first xpac, RotZ, and I've been following the b-g guide. I didn't rely on it much after a while but I am concern over how much I could be skipping. I lurked this thread not too long ago and saw someone mention that the quickstart guide is actually pretty bad at taking you through the story properly, so I want to make sure where I could find a proper resource or something to follow story in. Even down to job quests, I unlocked COR and feel like I skipped the story because the little kid randomly was with me when I went somewhere after I accepted it.

The main thing you would be missing is sidequests, of which there are numerous.As for the main story, the new player guide is actually totally fine. All you need to do is reach level 75 (or 99) per its instructions and then just progress through each expansion story linearly. It's really not complicated. The stories are very linear and sectioned off from each other so do Zilart, then do Promathia, then do Aht Urgan, then... etc. You won't have any issues (and if you're at level 75, if you get stuck you can just level up more). The add-on scenarios can be done whenever you want and the rank 6-9 city missions can be done after Promathia whenever you want too. It's hard to fuck up, I promise.
Is RUN popular or unpopular?
