Is it me or remade maps in CS2 are shit? They look and feel nothing like the original maps.
>>1512648Maps in every game are shit once you learn them, which is something that players have an aversion towards doing for some reason in this fucking game
>>1512648You’re just a massive contrarian they look good, and I say this as an old good new bad boomer
>>1512824basedI loved playing new maps and discovering new shit
>>1512648They weren't intended to feel like the original maps.
>>1512648You mean the 2 minutes of gameplay on repeat kind of maps? When someone moves a brick and the community makes videos about how it changes the whole game? CS players are literal retards.
>>1512648office, the only good map in counter strike, remains the same.
>>1512648I played csgo for the movement not for the quality of the maps. the maps isn't what got ruined, the fucking jump height bullshit
>people played counterstrike after 1.3 ruined head htiboxes and toned down recoil
>>1512840New version of Train suck ass.
>>1512648Train, inferno and vertigo all changed for the worse
I, for one, enjoy new train outside of the change to popdog
>>1515919Old Train was absolute dogshit. Massively CT sided (even before A1-Spocalypse), could be locked down with 2 smokes, A site entry through a ladder(???), random snipers nest on A, list goes on. It's the only map I remember during end of CSGO life cycle where B rushes were a common and valid strategy employed by the likes of Navi. Mostly because you only needed 3 T rounds to win.
>>1512824Players have an aversion to trying new maps in CS because the majority of players are thin skinned tryhards that they can't handle being out of their element for a few games, and instead choose to play the same 4 fucking maps over and over where they can hold they same comfortable angles and throw the exact same grenades every single round. It's why Valve has to force maps into the competitive pool against players' will just to get people to actually play them. Remember Canals?
>>1520098Man I was one of those cretins for a long time. Absolutely refused to touch Anubis and barely played some Ancient because of how basic the layout was. Turns out Anubis is my best and favourite map. Only discovered that like 1.5 years after release
>>1520098Meh, I like playing the same maps in CS2 because I've been playing the he for 20+ years. If I want new maps or new gameplay, I'll play a different game. I personally enjoy playing this game and the same old maps and holding the same old corners and smoking the same old routesIt's like the old leather of a comfy pair of well broken in boots. I totally agree this game is full of tryhard faggots, but that's all games, which is why, despite all the blatant cheaters an sweats, this game still works so well for me (and probably many others). Chess is unchanged for over three centuries, monopoly is unchanged for almost 100 years, etc. I just don't think every game needs to be constantly updated and changed and remade into something new. I personally think reducing the number of old maps is a mistake too. I have no issue with new maps being introduced, but getting rid of classic maps is just not okay. You speak of tryhards who refuse to play new maps, but what about the tryhards who bitch about classic maps and push to have them removed because of "muh balance". A good example of this was Assault in hostage mode, completely removed from the game because " much terrorists are stronger", I mean, who cares?? You want to chill? Play terrorist, want to sweat you play CT. So yes, tryhards don't want to play new maps, but they also don't want to play old maps. >inb4 "but X map needed to be removed" Nah. Any couldve been removed from ranked and pushed into a low priority state in casual, but they don't need to be completely removed from the game. There are better options than just nuking ancient maps many players enjoyed despite their poor design or imbalanced play.
>>1512648They look exactly like the original maps, but now they have the Fortnite color scheme and lighting. Welcome to the nu-CS that's trying its hardest to appeal to zoom-zooms with retarded skins and other garbage.
>>1520127I'm a boomer who's played cs since forever and map rotation is an absolute blessing. If you actually go play some of the older maps you'll realize how absolutely awful they actually were for competetive play if both teams use a fraction of their brains to figure out the most optimal ways to play them. Which happens instantly in the current scene, in comparison the pro teams of early csgo were drooling retards. Nothing's really stopping anyone from loading up the older maps and boomering out on them to their hearts content but for some reason very few care to actually do that, wonder why; SPOILER: because they're actually good for nostalgia and less so for actually playing the game.So far only vertigo has really been a miss from valve considering the "new" maps as it's widely considered to be an unpleasant map to play or watch. Even teams like col who are good on the map don't like it lmao
>>1520098>>1520100Anubis is great, but if you ever played in the mapcore hub where it came from there’s so much dogshit from the community too. Quality competitive cs maps are rare
>>1520132>now they have the Fortnite color scheme and lightingI think that's the real problem.
>>1522692i actually prefer the new lighting and color
>>1520098Yeah this is why I don't play CSGO/CS2.The game has so many well designed, beautiful, and fun levels and yet people just play Dust2, Mirage, Inferno, and Nuke.
>>1513209why didn't they just make new maps then you stupid faggot? Just because you do something retarded intentionally doesn't mean it's not still retarded. I swear to god fucking dipshits like you that go around saying fucking stupid shit like that should all be rounded up and shot against a wall and save everyone else from having to read your retarded thoughts.
>>1545875They want to keep the original maps and balance them. That's going to make the feel and look different. If you want to play the original, then play the original.
CSGO was fine, they still haven’t explained why they scrapped 10 years of content in order to make a worse version of how CSGO was 10 years ago
>>1522012>Nothing's really stopping anyone from loading up the older maps and boomering out on them to their hearts content but for some reason very few care to actually do that, wonder why; SPOILER: because they're actually good for nostalgia and less so for actually playing the game. This is false and massively disingenuous. They're not played because nothing is played on the server browser anymore. Everyone just defaults to the matchmaker now. And so if old classic maps aren't in the matchmaker, they're not gonna be played. Go to CS 1.6 & Source and you'll see dust 24/7 and assault 24/7 filled to the brim. So no, you're a lying fucking faggot and a shit for brains.
>>1545875>and save everyone else from having to read your retarded thoughts.I sincerely believe that universal literacy was a mistake. Its been nothing but catastrophic to western civilization.
>>1512648CS2 is fucking garbage. Made worse by the fact it raped and killed CSGO.
it's not the maps it's just a new game, the core identity to each map is still there
