Recently, I have talked to one of my stalkers from /soc/. I packaged and mailed her my spare laptop so we can play. Before she finalized her character creation, I made sure to show her all the different faces, animations and idle stances between the races. At the end, she chose to play as a Raen female Au Ra. Picture related is the result.

This was also the first gpose picture she ever made. I helped her structure it.

Although, I have to admit, I like female Miqo'tes much more than I do than female Au Ra. Maybe that is due to how plain and human looking female Au Ra players tend to choose to look. I thought to finally make use of my "ugly" female Au Ra and see what I can do. Here is my result alongside my companion's.

I really liked the way these came out, I enjoy how different and unique they look. When posed together, they look like J-pop models and reminds of Puffy AmiYumi with the duo model look.

There's of course a different design philosophy, as the other three are made to be ugly, imperfect and just downright hideous to look at if you were in person with them, but even then there's a stark contrast between them and Hunter's.

I'm quite happy with the new hair added with Chaotic Alliance Raid. After both of the two other contest winners that were added to game were such flops ("It Takes Two" has a weird hairline, whilst "Doing The Wave" looks like seaweed + has a weird hairline), I was worried. I wondered if perhaps the developers were rushing out hairstyles to meet the quota of more rewards, at the expense of the quality of the hair. However, my fears have been assuaged by the new hair. It looks accurate to the contest picture, and more importantly, it looks good. Here's hoping that the two first hairs were just flukes.

Wow that is actually a good looking Miqo'te too. Balanced face and good color theory done on the lips and eyes. Very nice orange. Also yes, I agree on the hair segment. It felt like we were getting too many modern hair styles, when we should be receiving the more whimsical, extra and detailed hair to go along with the extra and detailed armor. Especially with the graphical update. A lot of the hairs from the contest just felt way too similar anyhow, zero idea why Square gave them the light of day.

Square is definitely using glamour incentives to keep people playing, just look at the player versus player side of things for the past 2 years.

Yeah, they're based on pre-existing OCs so I haven't really adapted them all properly to fit xiv lore ... but Utheas would be a voidsent in disguise. She's not interested in any of them and just manipulating them for her own benefit. Corvus and Mystella work together, but think the other is awful at their job - meanwhile Coraline has no idea of their association with Utheas..
(corvus and mystella have a sort of team rocket dynamic with coraline, annoying duo that stops the 'protagonist' periodically )

Yeah, a lot of the people in /xivg/ do not like one another, so them not liking you is a net zero loss. They literally abuse one another, they blackmail one another, scam one another and even neglect one another. Whether it be Kyoppi, Appal, Claire or more, they treat the closest people to them like tools because they are only close due to the prison they place themselves in.

They are NOT real people.

They dislike being themselves, they dislike being weird and strange and it doesn't help the majority of them are tourist rats from Reddit, Twitter and other Discords. The people bitching about them either aren't much help as they don't ever isolate the retard faggots from /xivg/ but encourage and enable them. I am more or less surprised they keep talking to me, or the fact someone made the TIME poster considering I was only there for 3 months out of the year compared to the literal decade some of them spend there. I never really cared about being liked or being remembered, just having fun while I was there and learning what I can do. I realized I was outgrowing /xivg/ and left it behind. Here's to hoping more take that road too.

As for you, it's good you found /xivm/, it's dead, and I want it that way but I am sure if we foster a habit of using FFXIV as a medium to tell stories, whether good or bad, things will get better. Use our imagination and what not to expand on something we like. Hence why I started to focus on like writing self-roleplay with my characters, and post art here. It's a fun, moderate way to enjoy the game. I don't text long like this, and I often speak short replies, but I hope this reaches out to you in a positive light.

Deva was designed to be "angelic", he has way more perfect features than Nirvana. I often design my characters to be as ugly as possible but for Deva's case, I had to make him "perfect".

In the lore I wrote for him, he is the only one out of all the OCs to have the echo. The differences only comes from the fact he misunderstands it. He takes himself as an avatar of God because he does not comprehend Hydaelyn's messages to him like other WoLs. He was always meant to be the best, the greatest by design, but he will be hedonistic with his gifts and try to walk on the lives of others like stools. I wanted to write him with the theme of, "What if the "chosen one" was chosen wrong.

The perfect chiseled face, the pale white skin, the blonde gold hair, and the piercing grey eyes. His only flaw in his look is the bags under his eyes and the stare that comes from them. "Angel features" comes from how androgynous they look.

The lore of Nirvana is that he is multiple reincarnations in succession, but he is able to retain his memories of his previous lives and is burdened with leading the Dharmas to their purposes, whatever they may be. He is their Virgil while Deva is their Dragon, Satan, Devil, Lucifer, Morningstar.

Deva also means God.
Nirvana also means enlightenment.
Dharma means justice, principle or teaching.
Their names can mean,

>God's teaching, Justice of the Gods, Teaching of Gods
>Enlightened teaching, Justice of the Enlightened, Teaching of Gods

Samsara Dharma in his most literal translation is,

He's from a different star, I am in the process of writing him now. He lost everything, his family, his master, and has been summoned to our world by Deva (through his echo) to be used as a tool of his plans against the native Samsara.

We decided to make an Another World Mudita.
She is a doctor who practices bounty hunting as a profession. Compared to Our World Mudita, she is much more trigger happy and less likely to negotiate when a price is attached to a deed.


She is romantically involved with her Samsara (AW), but they are unable to have children due to him being a prisoner of war from his days a rebel leader for Ala Mhigans as he was castrated. While her lifespan dwarfs his, she wants to spend the rest of her life with him in order to help ease his anger and hatred.

We decided to make an Another World Nirvana.
He is a shipwrecked captain who was washed upon a world he's never seen before. He wants to find his way home to see his daughter again.

He was rescued by the Dream's estate and has been thankful ever since. He does odd jobs whenever he can to help fund his future expenses of getting back home. In his spare time, he likes to write letters of love to his daughter but can never send them since he has little idea of how to get back home.

Also he has a "rizz" face.

I am extremely proud of you! Body checks are a grey area of discussion for me personally. Realistically raise should never be used if everyone behaves accordingly, but that logic does not apply when progressing obviously. I like body checks because it enforces a form of teamwork and awareness. Everyone has to pull their own weight, because if you want an example, look at Ultimate Carries where someone stays dead the entire fight. At the same time, body checks can also prevent progress and make some instances feel like wasted time.

yeah, I didn't play ff14 but it's undoubtedly a big success, this mobile version feels like a "wow classic" moment and the gameplay will catch a lot of people by surprise because people always think that mobile games are gacha scams, but this seems to be a real, complete, mmo.
it's made in unreal engine 4 by tencent using the art assets from the pc game, it's looking great, but I wish they went for ffxi instead because that game is almost dead, a relaunch would make more sense.

I was a real big fans of early 2010s appstore mobile games and had a blast trying them out like World of Magic and Conquer Online, so to see a functioning MMO just like you said is a breath of fresh air. It is a failure on Square's part to not really refine the coding of FFXIV over the years such as the netcode being fucking horrendous all of the time.

I think FFXI not being the mobile game of choice is due to how it isolates dumbasses who never played a FF game. The majority of FFXIV fans are people who are just there for the MMO aspect rather than the FF aspect, and FFXI is beyond worlds closer to FF than FFXIV will ever be in gameplay alone. A FFXI remake would be grand honestly.
