If a Godtoon only has two damaging abilities, balance can allow those two abilities to hit like a truck, which in turn gives higher burst (since, even if it's the same distribution as a 3 damaging ability, it means they don't have to invest or have cast time on the third). If all of a sudden a previously 2-ability godtoon has damage put on their remaining non-damaging ability, it necessitates that their previous two abilities are toned down to compensate, which kneecaps that previous niche. Retards don't see the problem in this, because "more=good" and "he's better now", not seeing a few patches down the line for the inevitable nerfs to a Godtoon that never needed one.
Hades is another example of this, except he was closer to a 1-ability-toon (the detonate hitting harder than many Ults). He was "fixed" by massively scaling up his Ult, which necessitated his detonate to be nerfed, which ruined his gameplay.There's ways to address balance issues with nuance and finesse, which can improve a Godtoon's gameplay without changing their place in the meta or role in the game's climate (eg fixing animation / frame timings), but retards like them will never get it. It's one of the reasons, Smash of all fighting games was the one to become the most popular - a game doesn't need a roster of 12 perfectly viable toons, it's fine for Bowser and Ganon to be perma-bottom tier because they're just slow (but some 12yr old's dad likes to be the big nigga he recognises or that style of play), or Little Mac to be the hype-as-fuck underdog pick because he's got 0 aerial gameplay, or Duck Hunt Dog to be so ridiculously complex with predicting the opponent with the can that nobody will ever play him at the highest level. They each serve a niche, and as long as they do that niche well, that's all that matters in making the game accessible and fun.In essence, not everything can be the most effective tactic available / meta, but there always will be a most effective tactic available.

I was a bit questioning the decision of remaking the game from scratch, rather than just updating the engine and slowly updating the graphics. Now I understand why. I think the best way I've found so far is to go stormbow and try not to hit enemies at all throughout the game. It tilts your team to no end.
